Thanks for the video, but I think you have the adapters on the wrong sides of the helmet. You mentioned the longer legs, which hold the boom mic, the mic should be mounted on the front of the headset and you have your longer legs oriented at the back. Maybe that's why you had such a hard time getting them in the arc rails?
That could be true, I'll try and verify. I don't use the boom mics, but it will probably be self-critiquing if one were to try using a backwards boom. Thanks for the heads up!
There were about 3 points during this exercise where I said "I'm going to break this damn thing." It's VERY helpful to have someone show you what you can and cannot accomplish with additional force, and as simple as this video was it performed that task to a T. Thanks so much for a great instructional video.
Finally a video that helped me! I was having some difficulties to put my rail adapters in place and that idea of using the table to push it was great! Thanks.
That lube idea definitely could help. The only concern would be how well it stays locked in place afterwards, but it's hard to imagine what could actually cause a concern for that to happen. Either way, thanks for the comment!
I used too much force putting one of these on my helmet - the thing slipped straight through the rails and sliced my finger! Making the arms 'click' definitely feels like I'm gonna break it lol

Little bit of silicone lube or PTFE lube dabbed on slide surface will defo reduce force required. I'm sure it's still difficult but less so.

The Peltor model in my video doesn't connect to a microphone. There are, however, other models that can be used with radios, etc.
