This video is fantastic! I had no idea something like this was even possible. Might have to look into getting a mouse myself for some of these games! Thanks for sharing!
This is great! I've seen Thwaite mentioned before, but I didn't know it's a Missile Command clone, and I wish I'd known Steel Moons supports the SNES Mouse, since I found it so hard to play. I may pick up the Hyperkin mouse, since modern optical mice are definitely an improvement over that rubber ball. Maybe you can do a video on using the Virtual Boy controller on the NES? I think there may only be two games that use it though: Spook O' Tron and Candelabra: Estocerro. I'd also love it if someone made a controller adapter for it, since VB controllers are increasingly rare and expensive and I don't want to mod mine.
From my experience, I've found the original SNES mouse is easier for slow and precise diagonal movement, but the Hyper Click mouse certainly excels in smoother movement otherwise. The buttons on the Hyper Click are also less likely to wear out, I'd reckon. I would have done a passing mention on the Virtual Boy controller but it would have derailed the focus of the video I think. Considering how there currently aren't viable VB->NES adaptors out there, and the small number of Virtual Boy controllers produced in general, I unfortunately don't think it's very practical just yet :( It's a very cool proof-of-concept though.
@@CutterCross2A03 Now that I think about it, it would be neat if we could use 8BitDo's NES-themed mouse on the system; maybe it could be wired up some way via SNES-to-USB adapters.
Fun fact, you can actually do something similar to this with the Sega Saturn controllers on the Mega Drive/Genesis. Master System and lower is a bit iffy, but some of those will work too. This has mostly boiled down to Saturn keyboard support, sadly. The Saturn had some good analog controllers, like the steering wheel and mission stick, even the standard analog pad was pretty neat. I’m planning to make good use of them.
Great video! Would love to see more videos like this.
Amazing coverage of NEScape. Thanks for all the kind words.
Love the knowledge your spreading! Good work!

Awesome! I'd love to see a physical release of crosspaint.
Bundled with a mouse on a box the same size as the Mario Paint game. Imagine that!
