In Botswana, we don't know much about Namibians too. However, to clarify something Ruth said, Botswana never used US dollars as its currency. In the past, Botswana used the South African Rand because our economies were closely linked. We introduced our own currency, the Pula, in 1976. Botswana's Pula is considered stable due to the country's strong economic fundamentals and investment climate
Oh, wow… the countries are neighbors, but not even knowing each other… oh.. did Namibia use usd? Btw… I’m already in Botswana now.. and the Pula is really nice currency
@@dudy That depends on individuals, as for some of us we know much about Botswana and Batswanas. With regards to USD, the lady got it wrong yeah. Probably confused it with Angola when used US dollars at some point back in time around 2010-14.
Friendly peoples there ❤
@@evelynemugeni2369 very true indeed
@@shippila oh true... another neighbouring country.. In Africa though, I have seen mostly that people don´t know much about neighbours... And it was like that as well in Europe.. even mostly people had prejudice against neighbours.. and there were always tensions and wars in Europe... Until the leaders realised and worked hard to connect people instead.. and now there are soooo many benefits.. and therefore Europe got much richer when the countries now cooperate.. hope the same for Africa ;)
We know a lot about Namibia. I have been there several times. Namibians are our great neighbour and a potentialy very important economic partner. 🇧🇼🇧🇼❤🇳🇦🇳🇦
That’s nice are you in Botswana now? I need some recommendations on what to do in the country when l come there
I'm a Namibian and travelled to Botswana and South Africa, both the three countries give the same vibe. The major difference is only the population and the economy.🇳🇦
I made this content because l realized that in Africa people don’t know much about their neighbors. It’s all about knowing each other and what people think 👍🇳🇦🇧🇼
Botswana never used US dollars. They use Pula ,strongest currency in southern Africa. That lady is talking about Zimbabwe.
@@jesusslord good point, thanks! At least I am ready for the next country! :)... but first let me use Botswana .. What can´t I miss?
Learn alot about Botswana from Botswana tv, long ago Vivid decoder days.

Ruth how can we not have confidence in using our currency while its the 3rd highest currency in Africa?

There are Subia,Yeyi,Mbukushu,San,Herero, Tswana and Nama tribes along the borders of the two countries. In fact we are one.

Oh you mean it’s cold in Lesotho 🇱🇸
@@dudyLesotho is the coldest country in Africa
@@animeboy_y8c omg... I am scared to go there... it is even so cold in Namibia for me.... Nairobi, Kigali, Ethiopia.... so many cold places... and everybody outside of Africa think it is just superhot everywhere :D
Botswana is cold but not that much…only the southern part

Im always on edge about this type of content cause it creates tension
😀 huh just don’t start a war but African countries need to know their neighbors better 👌
@@vebrainlight no need for tension. Its just people having fun and not well informed.
My guy was Lorenzo 🤣.. I expected a lot from the school kids. As for Ruth, it was just a slight confusion with Zim

If we are honest as Namibians , we really know nothing about Botswana cause the country has no economic influence in the region , we basically know more about SA coz we are economically and culturally linked & the two countries used to be one ….. but I’ve met a lot of people from Botswana in Namibia , their holiday destination is Swakopmund, Namibia , coz they don’t have an ocean or a holiday city in their country
Thank you for being honest l love this comment and l love Swakopmund 👍
But don't speak for all Namilbians, speak for yourself. I know a lot about Botswana same applies to all the people in my area maybe it's because we are closer to Botswana
@@pauljon5403 then speak for yourself & the people from your area , y’all don’t represent the whole of Namibia or even make up 2% of the population if counted
@@pauljon5403 What part of Namibia are you from? Some people I asked were from the north -> Angolan borders
@@pushingp6945 I sense some regional tension.. 😉😊... is there rivalries within Namibia
Ruth,is just confused with Zimbabwe currency but Botswana currency exchange is one of the best in Africa for a long time.
Yeah l guess she was just confusing it with Zimbabwe 😜😜
Ke gola kenna kana haise kee bone us dollar mo garona. E dirisiwa ke batswana bakae 😂

Ruth that's not true at all, absolutely not,we have been using our currency since 1976 the Botswana Pula, before we used the South African Rand
😜 Ruth was tired or maybe she meant Zimbabwe
@3:30 Peter is day dreaming 😝
And that lady Ruth is getting things mixed up🤨
These people are not following the questions 😂
Huh lol day dreamer 😃😃😅 l was wondering why they are not answering to the question
@@dudyI am Namibian too but this is mental 😂😂😂
@@MirageTader :D.. Well, I think it is just because not being used to talk in front of a camera... probably they focused more on the camera then the question... ;)
Ruth isn't telling the truth 😂😂
😅😅😅
almost none of the things the interviewees said about Botswana are not true lol they were confusing Botswana with other countries like South Africa and Zimbabwe
Yes Zimbabwe was in their heads 😅😅
I wish you came across me i would have lectured you nicely about Bots

Ruth is wrong, Batswana have never used USD, she was describing Zimbabwe
Yeah she forgot l guess: but also shows that there’s no enough information about Africa to the people
I fing she mistakenly Botswana/Zimbabwe
@@frederickthomaspinehas3764 Maybe she already talked about the country I will go after... What would you say about Botswana?
We dont use US Dollars my guy. BUT IF YOU HAVE , you can always change to Pula.
I gay it thanks much 👍
Ruth is wrong.. We never used US Dollar...
😅😅 Ruth was veey confident
@@dudy i don't blame her🤣🤣🤣.. She confused Botswana's economy to Zimbabwe and it's not that cold here.. Mayb she confused to Lesotho.... Anyways have a great time in our peaceful country 🇧🇼
