Nice bit of exercise commitment for you 8:33, I have only been there once on my last road trip, but bombed out on seeing anything Northbound unfortunately 😢
I hit a dirty great rock between the tunnels before the cutting was widened on a 48 class many years ago,it made the little fella shudder a bit but we kept going.
Yeah whilst I was there, I thought how would anyone actually know if there’s been some sort of a landslide. That definitely would have been a little bit sickening though mate
Great work Tones, the nice calming sounds. Anything that has a nose on it just like a truck is a winner to me but also i prefer the 81 class over the 82 class.
I used to go through Bethungra twice a week doing Cootamundra change overs out of Adelaide for Scott's Refrigerated. At one point a few years back,Bethungra was the cheapest place to buy a house in NSW
I run Melbourne to Wagga with the freight company I'm with. If you're ever around the area mate and I'm running up there, I'll give you a few toots if you're trackside.
Is it possible to bypass the spiral by tunnelling? Would certainly save time and fuel as the Inland Rail is bypassing the spiral and of course the Inland Rail basically runs north-south.
Yeah I believe they are bypassing the area as the trains for the inland rail need to be higher and that would take a lot of work re-boring those tunnels
Fantastic capture and coverage

Ha ha, yeah that definitely took it out of me running back up that incline 😂
I love it when they wind on the power its such a sweet sound
Totally agree with you there mate
10:52 The 620/720 class railmotors were only retired in 2007 (abeit they were overdue for retirement then)
You bloody beauty, thanks heaps for the insight

That LZ sounds tremendous. Can't beat the sound of an EMD
Spot on there mate! Sounded fantastic

Yeah for sure mate, unfortunately there wasn’t a lot of activity over those couple of days 😆
SSR definitely have some beautiful old girls
It's truly amazing what the human race can do. When there's a single goal.
Train down low + move up mountain = beautifully made spiral.
Spot on there mate! Engineering can just be fascinating at times can’t it
yeah thats pretty cool stuff tony. be good to do few trips on passenger trains through there
Yeah, I reckon so mate. Would be a pretty good experience, I reckon.
Nice video of the trains finished for the day here at 4:30 pm opened a stubbie well that was ok 5 stubbies later still thirsty
You bloody ripper mate, I reckon you deserve one too
AWESOME MATE
Yeah definitely well worth a couple of days 😆

Yeah a lot has changed in regards to housing prices everywhere in Australia hasn’t it 😆
Definitely not a bad part of the world though

Fantastic mate! Unfortunately I won’t be back down that way for a little while yet
Fantastique
Love the mighty West Aussie LZ ! In rail industry, we called Bob tail- light engine/s
Yeah she is a ripper! Sounds fantastic as well 👌🏼
@TonesTruckinStories we still have 3 working in the west and dozen in storage.
Amazing how long some of those trains are. Good work there by you..
Yeah bloody magnificent isn’t it
Wow Tone, you'll be putting Bevan Wall productions out of a job. Great work, mate.
Ha ha! Bloody love it
Awesome video Tones👍🏼 There is another line that doesn’t do the loop do you know what that is for?
The line south, it goes straight through.
@ Thankyou I thought that may have been the case.
Send back out Lz3114 to WA please 😂😂 anyways nice vid mate !
But I like it over here 💨
Wish the LZ would come back home to WA :(
Yeah she’s on hire to SSR for a little while I believe Mate

That’s the down line, it avoids the spiral.
Yeah spot on mate, basically got northbound and southbound lines I realised
@@TonesTruckinStories I realised I meant the southbound track afterwards, lol. I live an hour away from Bethungra. Great area to live in.
