    The way he plays in the upper register so easily makes it sound like its an octave down

    • @maggoteater2290
      @maggoteater2290 5 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      I know and when I try to play it it's automatically sounds 2 octaves higher

      Well 2 octaves higher is a talent too

    Ha, I could play this in my sleep; of course I would be dreaming! Seriously Wayne is one of the finest lead trumpet players out there! Wayne's playing is mostly associated with jazz, but his skills in the LA studios make him one of the top first call players! I've listened to Wayne since his days at Disneyland and with Maynard. He is like fine wine as he has gotten stronger and better with age. Not just any trumpet player can handle the movie producer's sound stage, but Wayne certainly gets it done. Thank you Wayne for your many contributions to the trumpet world!

      none of the 3 spots you posted were the lick, approaching a target note by playing the notes directly above and below it is a ridiculously common jazz element and has nothing to do with the lick other than that the lick also uses that element

    • @pickdown2085
      @pickdown2085 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@sandwichxiii :18 and :25 are undeniably the lick. you're not wrong about it being a common jazz element but that doesn't make it NOT the lick

      he did two different recordings, one was with Gordin Goodwin as lead trumpet, then he did his own solo album cover, which this one is. His cover is a bit slower but also way more polished.

      Honestly you can hardly compare the two. They are both amazing for what they have done and what wayne can do now. Its not really fair to say one is better than the other as wayne is still a younger guy and has much more to show the world

    pourquoi forcer les sons ce n'est pas élégant on est très loin d'un maurice andré qui maitrisait le super aigu sans forcer et surtout sans vibrato .La musique ce n'est pas du cirque .Ce qui compte c'est la musicalité et l'élégance et vous en etes très loin mais vous ne changerez pas .A votre age on ne peut pas se corriger c'est trop tard

    I personally don't like this solo as much as his other solos. I think it lacks the overall structure, the best element in his greatest solos. But on the other hand, amazing player, though.
