I bought a 20 foot extension for a total of 40' of track for my Model 40 along with the trailer package and some other options. I had Stanton deliver it. He put the saw head in the bed of his truck and towed the two base 20' track with the other 20' strapped on top of the base track. Worked like a champ. I lifted the saw head out of his pickup bed with my 80hp tractor. Highly recommend ordering the largest engine option - well worth it.
we are welding up a 10' extension for my EZ Boardwalk 40 this weekend...can't wait to get it all put together so I can do 26' beams. But 40'...wow! That's impressive.
@@homeplaceadventures Yeah, I wanted to be able to handle up to about 36' sticks for my timber framing build. And as Adam points out, the real issue there is material handling. I might have bit off more than I can chew. We'll see how it goes when I get to that point.
Adam, you are a good man for helping this guy out. Also, you said you're not a salesman but you're doing a hell of a sales job on the quality and functionality of this Mill. Anyway, stay safe healthy and dry. Bill H from Cranberry Township
Adam, Sunday morning viewer here. Very educational for me and I wish Randy well on his hobby investment. When I get an opportunity to meet a sawyer on site I will have a base knowledge of what is about to happen. Thank you. Keep the videos coming. Have a great day! Keith
When trailering it, you move the saw head to the center of the track over the trailer wheels. There is a tab and a set of bolts to hold the head onto the track. This is also the best position to secure it when you expect bad weather.
Great walk through on the EZ Boardwalk 40. I’m loving mine! I agree 100% about the power lift for the sawhead. On this mill, due to its design of how to raise and lower it, zero need for a power lift. Other mills are configured differently that require a LOT more physical exertion to raise and lower the mill. On my previous mill it was easier to remove each board so I didn’t have to raise and lower the saw so much. With the 40 I can easily cut board after board without having to remove a board each cut bc it is very little effort to raise the sawhead. Great video covering what is arguably the best manual mill available.
Quick question on cutting off the skinny part on the end of your cant. Why can’t you cut them all to the longer length? I would think for personal use you could have the best of both worlds this way. Just trim the deformed part off the first few boards and then enjoy the full length of the later boards
good video and job glad randy done his home work you may have died not knowing you had the log turning stops. when i ordered my woodland mills 30 max. it was a 6 month woodmizer was 2 years, hudson ,ez board walk and others was over a year. the board walk is a good mill. you are right to do production sawmilling you have to have a hydratic mill you will kill your self turning and loading loads by hand. take care, be safe and well.
Good morning an 8 week lead time is great we ordered an LT 35 woodmizer with a 60 week lead time . May 15 will be a year and still no word from Wood mizer
Good video on the saw mill and showing him how everything works on it. Just bought a chainsaw mill and I think that will be good enough for me because I would like to start making log furniture. If I get good enough at it then I might sell some down the road never know.
That really depends on the logs. Size and species. If I was doing logs like I did in this video. I usually can square up a log in 30-45 minutes. So realistically 8-10 in an 8 hour day conservatively. Not rushing
When I buy something I ask either no questions at all or very very few questions - I look at the item and choose to buy based on the merits of the item. I expect the same when I am selling. When selling I have no interest in answering your 50,000 questions. You are welcome to look over the item and make your own determinations. Fair go ?
Thanks for sharing! I’m the opposite though. I do a lot of research on multiple models to pick which one gives me the most bang for my buck. I ask a lot of questions. If somebody doesn’t want to answer them I won’t buy from that sales person

Maybe it's time for you to try Brock's sawmill. That would be a nice video.

Good information about the mill. Randy looks like my friend Chuck. So much so,I thought it was him. Take care, have a good one and God Bless!!!❤😊
Great video to help someone out. It goes over the finer points of the mill as well.
Nice video Adam, sharing all your tips with him and giving him some run time and then he shares his own tip with you.
I ordered in Jan 2023. Originally estimated for Sep 2023 but then got bumped to Dec 2023. Good to hear delivery is down to 8 weeks now.

great job, Adam, being friendly, helping a fellow to-be sawyer out !!!!
We use windshield wash and pinesol when we saw pine. Keeps blades clean. Buy washer fluid in 55 gal drum
Good content. Your title is misleading. He does not want to buy your mill; he wants to buy a mill like yours.
It generates a lot more views. Sadly a game that must be played.

Awesome video fellows 👍👍 The first video on sawmills I've seen for beginners questions ! Love the video Adam!!!
Not the sellers responsibility to train the newbie.

I like how you used a blade at the end of its life cycle for the demonstration. Looked like maybe a 1/16" or gap which is not bad. Well done Adam.
I bought it strictly for the canted head. It just makes so much sense.
We use RainX orange. To clean the blade. Worked best with Larch. Nasty pitch in that wood really modified to clean both sides of the blade

Good reason to go elsewhere. If service before sale is bad just think how much worse customer service is going to be after they have your money.
Ballpark on pricing for the 40 or 50?
This question from video while back when u built the firewood stand the paint sprayer you use I look on your Amazon store to order one did not see it
great overview of the mill
Adam: "knock on wood" - 6:52 knocks on the steel blade guard with a log directly in front of him 🤣 Sorry Adam, I had to say it lol...
Yep you got me lol. I noticed that when I was editing the video too 🤣

Gotta spend some money for the business unless u want to pay the government in taxes. Thats how it works.

How many logs or boards can you make in a good 8 hr day taking your time not rushing?
Also what do you do with all your slab wood?
