That is an ex Northern Line 1972MK1 car with the rubber seal on the door windows and longer windows, A small number of ex Northern line 72mk1 trains are on the Bakerloo as 3 or 4 car half units and as complete trains. Most of the MKIs were withdrawn from the Northern Line in the late 1990s, had their components recovered as spare parts for the remaining 72s on the Bakerloo line, as well as ex Victoria Line 1967 stock before they were permanently scrapped.
I prefer the design where when the doors open, they go in between 2 windows instead of the doors being on the outside. Any ideas why they don’t use this design anymore? I think it looks better from the outside because the doors look like they’re just bulging off the side of the train otherwise. I can only guess that it saves space inside the train?
@@southlondontrainsbusesandl1699these and the 73's are the last real classics to be doing that lol, it will be pretty wierd when these classics go after around half a century collecting memories after many travellers going around the bakerloo and piccadilly lines, though I already absolutely love the NTFL's, these classics are the image of these 2 lines now, along with pretty much now being a full running time peace of london underground's history

I prefer this look too. Much much cleaner. That is probably why I prefer the Picc and Bakerloo lines to other lines

Theyre undergoing minor refurbishment which includes led lights meaning the lights shouldnt go off when the train crosses points.
