Thanks for talking about the house contract / explaining - as literally whenever you've been talking about it, it's been in the back of my mind!! Always protect yourself (NO ONE thinks their partner is the kind of person that goes after property post breakup/divorce!!)
I bought a flat with an ex years ago, it was a joint mortgage but the deposit was all his from the sale of his flat, I wanted to make sure if anything happened, he got that back so we had it all written into a contract, when we did split up a few years later, he got his deposit back, but then any profit we’d made on the flat was split 50/50 as it was a joint mortgage and everything we’d paid for since we bought it was paid for by both of us, that seemed the fairest way of doing it, saved any awkwardness or hassle when we did split, not that I would have taken his money anyway but just helpful to have it all in writing so it’s clear! He actually ended up giving me more as wanted to keep all the furniture which I was more than happy with as I def didn’t want it and wanted a fresh start!
Thankyou so much for your transparency around the costs/ legal arrangements for your house! It makes it easier for those of us planning and also helps remove the stigma of people protecting themselves and their assets. Thanks for another great vlog! ❤️
Love your weekly vlogs!! You’re very sensible getting a contract drawn up for the house situation, you should definitely always protect yourself. We went for a walk today (first big walk of ‘24🎉) got back to the car just in time for it to start raining 😅
Loved this vlog! My boyfriend and I are hoping to buy a house this year but we’re in position where I have the majority of a deposit. Listening to you about getting legal advice has really helped me. I was considering this if we bought as I would be paying say 70% of the deposit and him 30%. I have saved up for so long. So listening to you has just helped me think about how we could fairly buy a house and buy soon. He hasn’t got as much saved as me but I trust him 10000%. Thanks for always being so real, love watching your vlogs getting ready in the mornings ❤
Please just add a 300 or 400mm cupboard the end of the units where the fridge and freezer are and have a integrated bin, you will not regret it, bins are so ugly and it’s just makes life so much easier as you can have recycling and general waste :)
11:13 Just when you’ve been talking about the house, I was wondering whether you are looking at buying another house to rent out as you had one in Leeds and this one was previously rented out too 😊
@@thefabuloushannahh it was a house deposit or towards our wedding, I think we made the better decision 😉. 100% - it makes you feel secure and any bloke who doesn't support the decision is a huge red flag x
Ace vid Han! Love watching your videos on a Sunday, helps keep the Sunday Scaries at bay! Got my nails done this week after 3 weeks of Xmas nails so it was definitely needed! Starting a new job on Tuesday and I’m over thinking it so much 🫣💀 I know I’ll be fine, I just have to stress first! 😂 can’t wait for the next one ✨
Always get a contract done! My brother didn't when his girlfriend moved into his house because we all trusted her and she promised she'd never want money from him if they split. She changed her tune when she decided to leave him and it cost him THOUSANDS. Protect yourselves and your 💰, no matter how much you think you know and trust someone!
@@SD-mi2vcwhat a stupid reply to the above comment 😂 This guy’s ex cost him thousands and your fragile masculinity still thinks he’s in the wrong? Contracts have a weird stigma around them. Like I said, it’s not about the other person, it’s about protecting what you’ve worked hard for and have every right to keep
@@thefabuloushannahh the content of your reply proves my point hannah. "Its fragile masculnity" no its common sense, dont just sign a contract just because you know them. Have you looked at divorce laws of today hannah? I hope he ends up happy, he put himself put in a comprising position.
@@thefabuloushannahh That makes sense! When you come to sell does he get any money out of it for the mortgage contributions he has made? Especially since he’s helping you increase the value of the house even if not paying directly for materials he’s putting time into doing the work
So, there aren't élegal, illegal, contracts, for somezone therez? Like, getting married with an Illy Café? So, for instance... I, mean, that would be my question? Cheers, kind regards, Benjuamin

My thoughts exactly, especially watching what's been happening with another youtuber who's going through a horrible divorce.

100% this is what we did with our house, my parents helped pay for our deposit so getting the legal contract really helped x
That’s so kind of them! It’s definitely a sensible thing to do 🥰 no hard feelings involved, obvs!! X
