I’m currently completely renovating my 1st house and I had no idea just how expensive everything is! I completely get how you’re feeling right now, we’ve had so many set backs that it can be really disheartening but we’ll get there👍
We were advised to always have worktop space next to the oven so you have somewhere to put hot trays / dishes down when they come out the oven. We was also advised to have the sink in the middle of the bin and dishwasher so you can scrape one side, rinse in the middle and stack the dishwasher the otherside 😊
Hi Han! I never comment usually, but wanted to share my thoughts on the kitchen plan. Let me just say the kitchen is going to end looking beutiful even without the extension!! From a practical perspective, I would perhaps reconsider widening the space gap between the fridge and the sink as it's likely to be a frequently used passage (to get to the utility and the garden). In terms of the fridge position, it seem well placed (easy access to the sink area). However, if you are afraid it is going to block the light, you could perhaps think of moving it to the wall where the owen is (it it is possible/allowed). This would open up the kitchen and also allow for a more continuous working surface. Whatever you do, I am sure the kitchen is going to end up looking great! xx😊
Kitchen thoughts: we have a fridge freezer in our utility room and it’s not annoying fetching things from there at all so I would continue with your plans to put one in the utility. However, I reckon you could get away with an under counter fridge in the kitchen and then a fridge freezer in the utility, rather than a full tall freezer. We are family of four and find that works for us. Unless you really use your freezer space loads but you seem to cook more fresh! Someone else has said it but I would get a hob that has a cover and then you can put the airfryer on it and just make it as and when you need the hob. That’s what we do. Unless you feel like you use the hob and airfryer lots at the same time? But we don’t tend to and it just saves a bit of counter space as air fryers are such a big bit of kit! Xx
The only remark I have about the kitchen (not an expert, never designed a kitchen) is that I would exchange the spaces between the double-oven with the fridge. For me the fridge is sth that gets opened all the time, so that door right by the sink is a door for either a bathroom or the garden/yard, I would want it to be less frequently "cramped". I hope you got my point 😅. Nevertheless, it is a lovely design 😍
Hey! Just a suggestion 😊 What about as you walk in to the room, have the tall fridge/freezer and tall oven unit next to eachother, then the worktop space and the hob on the return along the back wall (where you have currently got your fridge/freezer) It'll then make the room feel/look bigger and the space to the outside will feel more open by not having a tall cupboard there? And youll have the same amount of worktop space! I hope that makes sense ❤
60 centimeters is less than 2 feet. That’s pretty tight! Speaking as an architect, I would make that wider. Also, kitchen sinks are typically centered on the window. I would suggest centering the sink, have the dishwasher on one side and the trash bins on the other.
You definitely can have the tall fridge next to your tall oven housing if that helps! My parents have that and I used to work in kitchen design so it’s not a problem x
han why don’t you put the air fryer in the back left corner?? then you have space between the oven and hobs, and the air fryer is tucked away in the corner, but you can still access it, and when it’s not in use, you’ll have worktop space there!
Hi Hannah, just an idea. Me and my partner have a cover over our hob, 1.to stop our cat from going on the hob but also it gives us more worktop space xxx
My advice as someone who had 2 of those pull out cupboards, is think about what you are gonna put on the shelves. The mechanism that operates them takes a lot of storage space away inside the actual cupboard. They are not as efficient as they look imo. Personally I wouldn't have 2 sinks I'd use the sink in the utility and have extra worktop that side and then just the dishwasher in the kitchen.
Hi Hannah, loving the content. A couple of things to think about for the kitchen, I was told not to put an air fryer next to a hob as it can melt from the heat? Suppose it depends on how big yours is? Also, I really like having space both sides of the sink, one side for the dirty dishes to sit and then the drying board on the other side. Having a dish washer might mean that’s not an issue for you but just thought I’d mention. Good luck, whatever you design you’ll learn to work around it 😊
Hi we move a lot and renovate properties, take the kitchen measurements and a video on your phone to b n q or homebase etc and they give u a plan n price but u don't need to go with them, u can take the plan to lots of kitchen designers to get price down, cooker n fridge definitely can't go nxt to each other ❤
Loved this video and seeing the plans for the kitchen. One thing I wondering if it’s worth considering, having the freezer in the utility may get frustrating when you’re cooking and have to walk to get stuff - could you consider 2 fridge freezers rather than one tall fridge and then one tall feeezer? That way can have all the day to day stuff in the kitchen, and the “back up” stuff in the one in the Utility.
Could you put the fridge in the utility room as well, with the freezer and washing machine. So you could have more surface space in the kitchen. If you didn't have the sink in the utility room. Then have the washing machine their and the fridge at the end, or something along those lines. That's what I have, I have washing machine with a surface on top, then tall fridge then tall freezer. Hope that makes sense. Love your videos xxx
Can i just say how much i'm loving the homes under the hannah snippets! After my wedding at the end of March my husband to be and I are going to be fully renovating our home too, so tips like using DIY Kitchens are SO handy, id never have even thought about doing that to cut down on costs. So you may feel out of your depth/like you dont know what youre doing sometimes but i'm certainly finding it super helpful and interesting! xxx
Hi there, just wanted to suggest that you could look inot buying an oven that has an air fryer setting. We found one that does and it has been a real game changer for us. Plus it frees up bench space. Wishing you all the best xxx
Great vlog. Shame about the extension but the quotes are a decent price. With the cost of material going up and no easy back entrance the cost will be higher. Average cost is around £5k (all in to finished product) per sqm right now. Kitchen wise have you considered having your kitchen in the dining area and the dining table in the other space? Would allow you to have a full wall to wall of cupboards and then potentially a small island for cutting and prep area? One thing I would say is that 60 cm isn’t enough walk through space, it most definitely needs to be at least 80cm. Can have a fridge next to the ovens too, meaning where the fridge was previously you could have a rounded corner cupboard which would allow you more worktop space. Although having the separate utility room is nice, have you considered knocking through into this area? Does the air fryer need to be in the kitchen, or would you consider having it in the utility space….depends how often you use it. Also think about kettles and toasters will also take up valuable worktop space so if you can afford a hot tap that would be great. Could always give out the measurements and allow us to draw some bits up, you could then pick from them which may help also. Although the extension can’t be completed, you could still add an outdoor dining area within that patio space with a pagoda. One thing I would say is that although the extension is out of budget for now, it will most certainly add value to your home once completed. Having a much larger kitchen/dining/family room will boost its value. Could always see if there are any other properties within the area that have had a similar extension to give you an idea of property value moving forward. X
We planned our kitchen with Ikea and I would 100% recommend as many drawers as possible if you can rather than cupboards. Sounds silly but drawers pull out and you can get into the back of them without having crouch down and reach all the way in.
We only actually have 2 base cupboards. 1 small 300mm wide one where the slow cooker and colander live and another corner one that has a pull out turny carousel. The rest of the base units are drawers. Even under the sink, we have drawers instead of a cupboard. It's life chasing haha We have a set which has a deep drawer in the bottom where we have our pans and pots, a sneaky little drawer within the drawer for the pan lids. A drawer for plates and bowls. Then a normal height drawer for our mugs and glasses as it sits under our coffee machine and kettle.
For the kitchen plan instead of having a tall fridge and then a tall freezer in the utility, do a tall fridge freezer in the utility room where you’ve planned for the freezer to be and then you won’t need the tall fridge in the kitchen then makes more worktop space will also make it lot brighter without a second tall cupboard! If you understand what I mean 😂I live with my boyfriend and my dog and we have a tall fridge freezer and it does us perfect enough room for all our food ❤
hello!! xx i’d say be careful of the walkway gap between the fridge and the sink, especially if the worktop will be a right angle i’m sure anything you do will look beautiful x
So glad you made that call on the extension! When you were super committed to it early on I was pretty surprised because it seemed like a nice to have, not a need to have, especially for a first home. Well done you rolling with it and shifting your plans!
Loved this video 🙂As a shorter girlie, I do cut my Zara jeans when they have a raw hem and you cannot tell at all. Most people say to get fabric scissors but I used usual ones and worked fine. I'm looking at buying a house at the end of the year and really appreciate you being transparent with the costs!
We had the corner fancy cupboard in our kitchen but we now think it uses up so much space that can’t be used so I’d say if you need cupboard space you’d probably be better to get a normal big corner cupboard x
We had a sink with no space either side and it was so awkward as had nowhere to stack the dirty dishes before washing and with the lay out you have the only space you’d have to stack dirty dishes is the same side as the draining board for the clean dishes.. just a thought ☺️
for the kitchen you said the fridge was blocking the light and what you could do is LEDs to put under neathe the top cabionets to give some extra light XX love to watching your vids and your positivity . have a good day XX
Have you thought about putting your fridge & air fryer in your utility room? I’m a mobile hairdresser and loads of my clients use their utility not only for washing machine etc but also as an overflow for the kitchen xx
Hi Han! Just an idea for your dining area - I’d move the radiator and get a tall one and pop it on the patio door wall and get a dining table with benches each side and do chairs at the end just to create more space and not have it look chair heavy in a smaller space. Really enjoying all the home updates, can’t wait to see it all finished☺️🌷
I have my fridge freezer / oven next to each other (integrated) 😊 I would suggest putting them both together at the right end (if that makes sense?!), rather than having a tall cupboard right as you walk in, as it may close the room off and make it feel smaller!
I'd question if you could get rid of the double oven and have the fridge freezer there instead and get a freestanding oven/hob to go where you currently have the hob. Where the fridge freezer currently is feels like it makes the space too small to get through to the next room, especially if you are wanting to open the fridge as people go past, which will inevitably happen! You could also get Howdens, Wickes etc. to design a kitchen for you, that's not to say you have to buy through them but they design it for free which means you're getting free ideas. We went with Howdens and they came up with so many ideas we hadn't even considered!
Also if this isn't your forever home then you'd be able to take a free standing oven with you to your next home. That's what we've done and we've bought a big reno project so to have a nice oven is lovely :D
Hi Hannah, just for reference, I had a double extension in 2021 and it cost us £75k including VAT so prices have definitely increased. We took out a second mortgage to afford it and that mortgage just ran alongside our existing mortgage and only cost us an extra £80 a month. Not sure how you were funding the extension but if you did have your heart set on it, you could ask your mortgage provider about taking out a second mortgage x
Been watching your videos for a loooong time now. Hoping to get a puppy soon and have been loving to rewatch your Sunny day in the life’s and what to buy videos! Would love to see more ☺️🫶🏻
Dont be too disheartened about extension , just because can’t do it now doesn’t mean never can , if going to be ur forever home , you have time ❤❤❤ if it’s not then the house is perfect for now and enjoy it for the new experience I literally had a delivery of that body suit as u were trying it on ahah Holister and Gilly hicks is such amazing quality
The kitchen looks lovely! personally I think having more space between the oven side and the sink side will make such a difference, the previous layout felt a little bit tight for me (not criticising, hope that sounds okay!)
If you have the top kitchen cupboards a lighter colour than the bottom ones, it’ll make the room feel bigger! Was lovely in my house with a shoebox kitchen
What about adding the table where the sink area is, and move more cabinets / sink etc tall units over against the wall where the table would have gone. Might open the space up a bit more
I am having my last lash app this week too!!! Both to save money and because of my work commitments the next few months means i wont beable to get to infill appointments!😢😢😢 Would be really really keen to hear about any reusable/DIY ones you try !!!

Safety pin your bra strap to the inside of the top it’s a game changer for hiding your bra straps with square neck tops! So the safety pin goes up through the bra strap then the top, back through the top and then back through the strap. No idea if that makes sense 😂❤
I like the white jumper but I think the quality is throwing me off… I have a similar one from new look and love it but feel like the primark one has patches of see through bits
I do not know, how to say that correctly. But, I find, a bit of a more open décolleté suits you, fits you well with your glasses. You, wearing your glasses. :-) Cheers, Benjamin
I read/heard somewhere that you should try clothes on with your hair/make up done, because if you like the clothes on without hair/make up then you’ll definitely like then when you’re all dressed up 😊 x
You have long finders, like, a witch, in one of those witch books, I had. Perhaps, you have longer fingers than I do. :-) But, auctuallt, you have beautiful hands. Kind regards, Benjamin Nikolaus Dietersdorfer
Unfortunately I can hear you only on one of my speakers. The other one bongt out, so to say. But, even tough, I can hear you very quietly, so, even tough, I can hear you very quietly, I can hear you. :-) Cheers, Benjamin
It always makes me laugh when you wear that Lake Ontario sweater because I live along Lake Ontario and it’s actually such a gross lake😂 Anyone from Ontario knows not to swim in that lake… 😅
Hannah I’d really recommend seeing the candlelight concert!!! I’ve seen a few over in Birmingham, the girls that do them are phenomenal and they recommend you sing along it’s such a beautiful experience, I’ve seen Taylor Swift, Queen and a Christmas songs one they never disappoint 🩷🩷
I’m currently completely renovating my 1st house and I had no idea just how expensive everything is! I completely get how you’re feeling right now, we’ve had so many set backs that it can be really disheartening but we’ll get there👍

There is always the option of a kitchen island on casters. I had one in a very small kitchen and it was a life saver
The Planner Book, what a great idea. It's great to keep organised.
The tops look comfy & relaxing. The white top, suits you. 😊 Well done.

Go to the Adele candlelit concert on your own! You’ll regret it if you don’t 😊
Been watching your videos for a loooong time now. Hoping to get a puppy soon and have been loving to rewatch your Sunny day in the life’s and what to buy videos! Would love to see more ☺️🫶🏻
Watching this with my new puppy - Toby, and a huge coffee (the sleepless nights are REAL!). This video is perfect for the cosy vibes❤
Dont be too disheartened about extension , just because can’t do it now doesn’t mean never can , if going to be ur forever home , you have time ❤❤❤ if it’s not then the house is perfect for now and enjoy it for the new experience

Holister and Gilly hicks is such amazing quality

feeling poop today, full of cold and your vlog has cheered me up, thanks Han x
Could you put the oven below the hob to give you a bit more space? Also the microwave could be built into the cupboards above.
If you have the top kitchen cupboards a lighter colour than the bottom ones, it’ll make the room feel bigger! Was lovely in my house with a shoebox kitchen
40 mins of Han of a Sunday 🙌🏻🫶🏻

Yes to the white jumper !
Ah that concert sounds incredible! More than happy to join you haha! 😄
I think that’s plenty counter space! But am I right in thinking you have a utility room? Could you put the fridge in there??
I am having my last lash app this week too!!! Both to save money and because of my work commitments the next few months means i wont beable to get to infill appointments!😢😢😢
Would be really really keen to hear about any reusable/DIY ones you try !!!
I like the white jumper 🤍
The white jumper is so cute!!!!
Lateness - look how long the journey will take, then double it. Leave then. Works every time! X
i have been to the candlelight adele concert but in Birmingham, it’s amazing!
always a great start to a sunday when han uploads!! 💘
I have been to a candle light Taylor Swift concert and it is really worth it! A very unique experience so I can 10/10 recommend
Why not have the oven in the corner? ❤ I have that and gives so much worktop space
Do oven/stove combos exist in UK? In Canada you can get it as one appliance and that would give you more counter space
Hey han, is there any chance to knock through the wall to the utility room or make that room smaller and extend the kitchen? It might add more room without a 30K extension! Xx
Also (sorry), would there be any option of knocking the wall through into the utility instead to make the kitchen bigger?
Could knock the wall through between kitchen and laundry room? Have it all in 1?
You can go to Wren and possibly other places to get an expert’s design/opinion for free! It doesn’t cost anything and their opinion is v useful. Also would recommend a boiling tap to save counter space so you don’t have to have a kettle 😊
Are full pantry cupboards not a thing in the UK or did I just miss it 😅
White jumpers lovely x
Love the last outfit 😍 did you keep that two toned green jumper so nice xxx
Hun I will literally come to the Adele candle lit concert with you hahaha that sounds unreal hahah
Hi, surely your dining table will provide you with additional worktop space? X
I like your dark purple tights!
Is it possible to close off one of the doors to the outside? Or is that where the bathroom is? That would save lotsaaaa space!
Safety pin your bra strap to the inside of the top it’s a game changer for hiding your bra straps with square neck tops! So the safety pin goes up through the bra strap then the top, back through the top and then back through the strap. No idea if that makes sense 😂❤
It looks fearly warm, your jumper. Benjamin
Why not put the fridge in the utility room and have a breakfast bar round where the dishwasher is going 😊
Where did you get the ring right at the beginning of the video? The t-bar one on your middle finger?
It’s from Tiffany and co
Hi , please can you let me know where your brown hoodie and leggings are from please ?😍
Love you Han you rock
I like the white jumper but I think the quality is throwing me off… I have a similar one from new look and love it but feel like the primark one has patches of see through bits
I am also always late for everything as much as I try I am forever late for everything ! 😫
Any chance ud do an updated 73 quickfire questions video? Im sure some of ur answers will have changed since u did the last one 😊 xx
Awesome video Hannah xx ❤️ ❤
I’m thinking 60cm between the sink and fridge is small 😬
60cm space is very small lovely. I’d go for minimum 75cm xx
What about a conservatory x
do you not have room to make the sink area a L shape so you get worknspace tonprep on and stand and talk to pepole sat at table x
I have been to 2 candlelit concerts, for Radiohead and Coldplay 😌😌 highly highly recommend it! You should go alone!
I do not know, how to say that correctly. But, I find, a bit of a more open décolleté suits you, fits you well with your glasses. You, wearing your glasses. :-) Cheers, Benjamin
White jumper = yay 🤍
Jumper: it’s nothing special and is also the price of one eyelash extension so absolutely send back x
I read/heard somewhere that you should try clothes on with your hair/make up done, because if you like the clothes on without hair/make up then you’ll definitely like then when you’re all dressed up 😊 x
Put the oven underneath the hob
Such a strange coincidence I just booked the ABBA candlelit concert in Birmingham!
Just a tip to remember, you shouldn’t have your air fryer under a cabinet 😊
Can you do more food videos!!!!!!!
You have long finders, like, a witch, in one of those witch books, I had. Perhaps, you have longer fingers than I do. :-) But, auctuallt, you have beautiful hands. Kind regards, Benjamin Nikolaus Dietersdorfer
Hello Hannah
Unfortunately I can hear you only on one of my speakers. The other one bongt out, so to say. But, even tough, I can hear you very quietly, so, even tough, I can hear you very quietly, I can hear you. :-) Cheers, Benjamin
It always makes me laugh when you wear that Lake Ontario sweater because I live along Lake Ontario and it’s actually such a gross lake😂 Anyone from Ontario knows not to swim in that lake… 😅
🥰🌟💕
Hannah I’d really recommend seeing the candlelight concert!!! I’ve seen a few over in Birmingham, the girls that do them are phenomenal and they recommend you sing along it’s such a beautiful experience, I’ve seen Taylor Swift, Queen and a Christmas songs one they never disappoint 🩷🩷
Merci, bye, ya. Cheers, Benjamin Nikolaus Dietersdorfer
I think, I find, looks alrigt, how you wear it. Benjamin
Sorry did you describe harry styles and Adele two of the most popular music artists in the world as rogue?? 😂😂😂
