The RS is something like £450-500 month. These golf R are like £300 so your saving a lot 👍

My lease on a 7.5 R is sub £300 and when the 7R came out it was around £200 to lease! Plenty of good deals out there you just have to get them at the right time. Like this month the Megane RS 280 is sub £200 and £1800 put down!

@@da_baracus4280 When I leased the mk7 Golf R back in 2015 I paid £210 a month with £2,2k down and 10k miles a year which was a great deal back then, cheapest/best lease deal Ive had to date on any car so far was the brand new back in 2016 Vauxhall Corsa VXR for the missus was £160 a month with £0 down and £500 cashback(they piratically begged me to have the car. LOL)

The golf r is a car that gets very boring very quickly imo. I think you'll get bored of it too if I'm honest. You have to do a hell of alot to a golf r to stand out. Whereas the rs, looks amazing as standard.

Not a down grade, just a move away from an eye catching special drivers car to a mundane boring looking hatchback with an R badge. I was walking towards what I thought was a silver R parked up. I got closer, saw the R on the grille, then realised it was an R line........enough said.

Audi’s are not known for handling like they “are on rails”, they are known for understeering. Go to any Audi s3/TTS review in particular and you’ll see what I mean :)
A brilliant upgrade for the golf R mk 7 on brakes is the 2016-up Audi TTS brake calipers and VW golf club sport s discs A straight bolt on no cotton grinding and cheap they are on my golf five star
even going from my m135i to golf gti, the power isnt as much but the build quality is so much better, car feels so solid

I got bored of my Golf R after a month. I found it quick stock but I started missing a manual gear box after a few weeks. I'm happy for you and I love the car. I hope you don't get bored of it like I did bro.

Hold brake down HARD with left foot and accelerator down with right foot
It should rev up to 3 - 3.5K, release brake to launch
Think oil temp has to be over 60c, it should tell you how to set in up in the owners manual

A focus RS with all its character, uniqueness and history that was tested by one of the best drifters in the world (Ken Block) resulting in the first ever production car to have a drift mode to trading it in for a 3 year old 33,000 mile bog standard tdi looking Golf R. The RS is designed for cornering at speed in all conditions. Should have bought something different or just kept the RS and tuned it man. PS this will depreciate like a stone if you start modding it and you will get bored of having to repair it time and time again
Improvise the rs was designed to go quick along farm tracks or forest roads but this pussy shat himself in one of his other vids

Tommy please just be aware with the golf r it has a separate ecu to the engine and if your wanting higher power you need the dsg remap aswell to handle higher torque and power that your wanting from the car and not only does it help it manage it reduces the shift time only know this because my old man has an s3 with 500bhp and has a dsg stage 4 remap from revo

Since u wanna upgrade the brakes, get the brand new Volkswagen Racing “Stage 3 Monoblock” 6 piston Big Brake Kit with 380mm carbon rotors. Get them in the anodised gold colour, looks very similar to the limestone metallic colour.
The reason the fuel consumption is really bad is because with DSG it cuts out the pistons but still sends petrol through the cylinders and it doesn’t get burned, that’s how DSG farts happen because the unburned petrol heats up and pops in the exhaust.
Clubsport s discs and tarox pads work a dream I don’t fault that setup on my golf r👌🏼
MK7 R owner for the past 2 years now, brilliant car you’ll love it
One thing to note is the IS38 (turbo) is prone to failure after tuning so budget for a new one especially after tuning!
Bridgestone Potenza’s are terrible, PS4 or PS4S will transform the car - Pedal box will also give you the throttle response it should have had in the first place.

@@jamboSAFC Yep they have done multiple revisions but reports of failures on virtually all of the revisions, don't get me wrong I'm not saying its a massive problem but going stage 2+ its only a matter of time IMO.
Apparently the best budget set up is a set of clubsport s discs and EBC yellow stuff pads, a guy used this set up on his 520bhp mk7 golf gti featured on LLF

I want to change my brakes aswell, some people say gti club sport brake setup is an alright upgrade with ferodo’s and braided lines

Sport mode , traction off , slam the brakes down floor the rev then let go of the brakes & mate my golf r only has a res delete and a stage 1 tune and it hits the spot for me
I disagree with those that say you shouldn't got rid of your focus RS. The reason I say this is the Golf R is a good car to tune and they can be up there with super car 0-60 times if tuned correctly

Launch it by sport gearbox race mode traction off left foot on brake right foot on accelerator it will rev up to 4k then let the foot of the brake and have fun
Most people fit Clubsport front discs and a decent choice of pad, cheapest option.
A golf R is a car that’s good at doing everything which is why you see so many with that being said it does lack character the dsg and a very clever 4wd system makes driving fast to easy and not much driver skill involved still a fantastic car and its your car so enjoy it but you will get the itch eventually to stab the clutch and bang gears
For those saying they’re gunna stop watching because he’s bought a golf I suggest you stop drilling holes in your scooter exhaust to make it louder and get a car for us all to criticise.
Golf R to me is the best overall package for a hot hatch. Still would take a Mk2 or Mk3 RS over it tho. They're mad, and to me that's what a hot hatch should be. Look forward to seeing what you do with the R dude.

I have a manual golf r love it and it's a joy to drive, we have a focus rs at work, taken it for a few drives and it's so boring to drive and doesn't feel fast compared to the golf r, but hey each to there own

In my opinion , I would rather have a golf gti over the golf r. Better interior and brand heritage. Feel like the R is a bit too muted in design for being the top spec in the range
The sport version of Golf's are like the Audi's - they dont look different enough from the standard 1.4 models.....this looks too 'normal' for me. Renault & Ford get their RS styling right,you can instantly tell its a sport version.
Brake wise stock disks with ds2500 pads will do the job
When mine loses traction at High speed it usually just does a 4 wheel slide and then gets grip pretty quick, just keep pushing usually, the stock springs don’t handle the corners that well, but the racing line springs change it a lot
If you havent orders paddle extenders check out vag paddles i got a set and really good quality and metal not plastic cheap scrap.
Tbf it’s sick to see you progressing in your TH-cam career going from a corsa to a golf R just shows how much hard work can get you if you want enough keep up the good work bro #fuckthehaters

The dsg makes its fast mountune remap it then you will keep up with the rs3 400 ps and you get proper manual gear changes instead of it changing up its self cheers steve👍😀

The smaller the car, the faster it feels. The RS is definitely faster (and in my opinion a better car), but this car is smaller. I think it’s a perfect car for you since you liked the power of the RS, but you seem to like the smaller two door cars over larger ones like the RS. This gives you a good amount of power while also giving you that small car feel. Pretty much just a higher quality, more solid, faster fiesta ST in my eyes.
A ford is not a better car than a vw never happen and the rs is 2 tenths of a second faster to 60 beens the Ford has get 50 extra bhp not great get the r mapped too the same I think we know that rs is getting done

Personally prefer the A45 but its each to their own with Hot Hatches, I think it's a good move going to the golf R more content for the channel which I will definitely be following.

Heard good things about A P racing big brake kit which I’m upgrading too after Christmas
Alcon brakes are great too, Had AP racing brakes on my MK1 Focus RS and Subaru Impreza years ago and they where great brakes with no brake fade and can give them serious abuse on track, but also had a set of Alcon on a Evo and they performed great on track but also looked nice with a Silver caliper, if I had the chance with either brake set up id be happy!!!

Std rs aint that quick tbh, raced 1 when i had my meg 250 (cat back exhaust) and exactly the same. Once tuned my meg could pull on the rs even with the mountune pack
