Thanks Alanna-Rose. That’s the beauty of this hobby … you can keep it simple or go all in. Glad to have you join our crafty scrapbooking community. It’s a fantastic hobby (imo 😁) ~Melanie
Start small and work up to being bold. My “formula” if you want to call it that is to pair a busy pattern with two less busy patterns that almost appear like a solid. I also like at the size of the pattern. If one is large then I choose smaller for the other to balance things out. Over time you’ll find you gravitate to certain patterns. And most importantly have fun 😁~Melanie
Thanks for sharing your thought process! It was amazing the difference just a 1/4 inch strip of striped paper made to the layouts! Thanks for the inspiration!
I like these. It was good to find out that I work the same way. I thought I was taking to long to figure out how I want to layout a card. Your videos make it look so easy, that I thought I was lacking any creativity. It was nice to see your thought process. I worry about wasting every scrap of paper, but I now realize that it is scrap and if I make a mistake, it is ok. I can make something else with it or even throw it away. I have a huge stack of scrap. I am going to go through it all and make bases for cards. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks … you always leave such great comments. When I got “rid” of my scraps in a meaningful way I felt so much better… less guilty somehow. It’s very strange. ~Melanie
Love This Using Paper Scraps, For Base Pages Girl! So Beautiful!!! Once my craft room is done and I go through all my supplies that have been in the attic for the last 7 years, I’ll know what I have. Had to store everything in this new house due to taking in my elderly parents, Dad 93 passed 3 years ago and Mama89 passed 6 months ago. It’s a process but coming along. 🤩🤩🤩
I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of your parents. What a blessing that you were able to take care of them and spend that time with them. It will be like Christmas pulling out your supplies … I’m sure you’ll find some treasures. ~Melanie
Thank you so very much for sharing! Newbie to scrapbooking I am stunned how gorgeous your pages are and yet you make it look simple!

Thanks Jo… glad you enjoyed ~Melanie
I have a problem mixing patterns, but I think I will try this, little mixes might work. You make it look easy.❤❤

I know right??? Love the 1/4” strip (as if that wasn’t obvious). I also like to use solid cardstock if I don’t have a stripe. ~Melanie
I really like watching your creative process!
Thanks Cheryl. Sometimes it is hard to put into words but it’s fun sharing. ~Melanie
