with the vanny mask on, you arent regarded as a child, but a maintenance employee. animatronics overlook you as you are not a guest to entertain. so moon doesnt acknowledge the mask, but sun recognizes it as an employee that can fix him.

Here’s an extra sad thing, Sun seems aware that the Pizzaplex is in ruins and no kids are coming back ever again, when he says things like “no more laughs, no more crafts” and “play clay all dried up”. Rebooted Eclipse seems to still not understand the true state of the whole place, but seems content seeing Cassie as evidence that there’s still kids around. The question is what happens when Eclipse realizes the same thing as Sun, that the kids aren’t coming back 😢
“NOT ME!!! THE OTHER ME!!!!” Why is that actually really funny??? Only now I found out that they can only communicate through the mask and the fact he has to tell you to NOT reboot the sun part of him is so goofy and in character. Loved that
Also the fact that Sun is telling you to reboot Moon because in the AR vision you talk to the "inactive" AI Without the mask you see Moon, but in the AR you see Sun, so it's basically a way to tell you "Ehy I'm the one trapped here, you need to reboot the active AI" (Because we need to remember than Sun and Moon are two separate AIs, if one is present in the real world the other is probably inactive and before all of the mess the inactive one would be chilling out in the AR world). Really nice touch!
It’s kinda sad that Sun and Moon got LESS screen time than in the base game. I was really expecting them to start following you around and helping you and such, especially since Eclipse had come out. But, it’s fine, we’ll just have to wait for the next FNAF game in the next 20 years. (That is an exaggeration, do not take that as pure fact. I am sure that a new FNAF game will come out LONG before 20 years.)

And sun was naturally nice towards kids so if eclipse was for some reason active the day of her birthday he was also nice.
This also shows that "safe mode" isn't used the way a computer does. Safety mode is about protecting kids around you. I think eclipse was his safety mode from when he was an actor. Sun and Moon are his acting modes not meant to babysit. The virus forced the animatronics to disregard safety mode which should be active when children are going to be touching or close to the animatronic.
I could see Sun & Moon being used for special events or performances (i.e. craft time w Sun, story time w Moon, puppet show w Sun or maybe even strictly Moon doing night security like I've seen a lot in fandom) but maybe Eclipse is the actual daycare attendant that interacts with the kids the majority of the day & ensures their safety as they play :V
There's a huge difference between *safety* mode and *safe* mode, the Glamrock animatronics run on Windows so Freddy rebooting into safe mode like a computer does makes sense
If there’s another dlc like everyone’s expecting, I wonder if Eclipse will actually have cleaned up certain areas of the Pizzaplex. His whole attitude of “the kids will be here tomorrow I gotta clean up” gives me major Wall-E vibes where there’s one Bot trying to fix a huge mess. I also wonder if there would be endings in a second dlc that are different depending on what you did in Ruin, like if you fix chicas voice box she becomes an ally later on etc.
Still there is not much a broken animatronic can do, i really would like a pizzaplex reconstruction, (Mostly because of my desire of a possible SB 2 in the future) but that would kinda kill the horror type of the game

Its weird the idea that a third personality existed within sun and moon, and all this time eclipse was portrayed as the worst side of them two by the fanbase, going so far as him being the main antagonist in the sun and moon VRCHAT series. The augmented reality world is supposed to be a gateway of sorts through areas and what not, meaning it bases itself off the real world, but in a digital scape that stems from all of the pizzaplex, the surroundings, technology, etc. When Sun says "The other me", he's asking you to repair the real him, because with the mask on, you can only communicate with his augmented self, the one inside the ar world.
Nobody talks about sun's line "I am trapped in a nap" sun can only talk when the vanny mask is on because he's not actually there, moon is in the real world, he took over and is trying to hold sun in the nap he says "take your nap, no more sun"
It pains me deeply how devastated the animatronics like Sun and Roxy are with all thw situation of the building and of themselves, I mean that phrases of sun about being alone and no crafts to do, and that one dialogue with Roxy when we're about to deactivate her when she says she remembers us (cassie) beacuse "we are the number one, two times", these speeches broke me in a way i didn't knew were possible
If you put it like this, Eclipse is the literal combinations of Sun and Moon's personalities, he is Fun and Soft like sun But also makes sure kids get what they need: A break, just like Moon
if you listen to their dialogue, moon only talks when your mask is off and sun talks with it on. So if you were to reboot sun and not moon (rebooting him with the mask on) Im pretty sure moon would have full control no matter what happens, meaning i think sun would basically just die lol.
Basically since moon is the one corrupted by the virus from the base game whereas sun isn’t, so maybe rebooting sun would probably just make things worse with the virus still implemented from the looks of moon.

When you reboot the daycare attendant, eclipse might only show up as a temporary personality while the light sensors turn on.
I think this just shows that whenever you have the Vanny mask on and you’re in the AR “world”, that Sun is also in there/a part of it too. Moon is currently the one physically out and using the body, while Sun is just an ai, inside maybe a sort of shared headspace and part of the AR world. And even though it’s not shown I can probably guess that if Sun was the one physically out, then Moon would be the one you’d see with the mask on. Also, regarding the idea of them having a shared headspace, this can be shown when Sun first encounters you. For a brief moment Moon appears, kind of pushing his way into the headspace to confront you and see what’s going on, but then gets pushed back out by Sun, and you can see that he is struggling to have control, him and Moon almost having this constant fight between each other
for those who don't know you get teleported between maps If you have a debug menu or camera you can fly down without the mask and you will see the glitched version of the map
I kinda figured that’s how they did it. Sometimes when you take the mask off, your orientation doesn’t match were you were last facing leading me to suspect you were being moved between maps.
On the question of which Eclipse we see, Solar or Lunar, I think its Solar because whenever the Daycare Attendant is Sun, his little pointy triangle flaps are out. Whenever its Moon, they aren’t out. When we meet Eclipse, Sun’s pointy triangle flaps are out, so it’s most likely a Solar Eclipse.
If that is the case it's a lunar eclipse, in a solar eclipse the moon blocks the sun, in A lunar eclipse the sun blocks the moon, in that case it's a lunar eclipse

The animatronics other then the Prototype Freddy, are connected to the VANNI network, and their old forms are still what they appear as in the AR network.
@@ghostytunes4712 Roxy is also the only one that requires the AR space to navigate her surroundings, making her saving Cassie all the more impressive, even if temporary.
There are a few other strange interactions (leaving outside Roxy talking to us in the game normally near the end), which I think actually reflects quite a bit of duality in the animatronics. (Kind of going off one of Matpat's recent theories of Charlie potentially being influential in all of this along with something else controlling the pizzaplex) so, it'll be interesting to see what else comes up as days go by
Wow!- Such a cool detail, definitely didn't notice it before, but it actually makes a lot of sense thinking about it now. The generators are OFF when we first enter the daycare. There's NO LIGHT (well, there is, but it's dim). Moon even says to us "no light" and for Sun to keep napping. The game is directly implying to us that Moon is in control, because the lights are "off". However when we wear the mask and see the AR world, we see Sun (or AR Sun? Sun's code? Idk, it's Sun), because the amount of light doesn't matter in the AR world. We are quite literally seeing that Sun is trapped, and that he's asking us to help give him back at least some degree of control by turning on the generators and rebooting them. Which we're happily able to do and accomplish, thus giving us Eclipse. Merging the two into a being where the amount of light does not matter. Finally granting them a form of peace where neither of them has to be "napping", and Sun thanks us for granting him that freedom, for helping him no longer be trapped. Side Note: Now this is just my take on things, but I like to think Moon wasn't intentionally preventing Sun coming out for no reason. As we see in the base game, Sun was the one primarily in control unless the lights were off, we only saw Moon when the power was out. Moon was only able to stop "napping" when it was dark, which only happened a few times. Then the tables turn in the DLC, and finally Moon doesn't have to be the one always napping. He gets more control, and is adamant about not returning to his own "nap", because (and let's be honest) he probably hated it. I mean- We even see that Sun doesn't like it either! A part of Moon was probably even worried that if the lights did come on, that Sun would return to his classic "keep the lights on" spiel, and wouldn't give him equal control. Idk, I feel like it just gives us a better idea of his reasoning. We still don't know too much about these amazing characters and their full story. Either way- I'm really happy that we as the players are able to help the Daycare Attendant enter a more stable state, where both of them appear to have the control they both desperately wanted. (also, to my fellow Tumblr folks who will understand what I mean--- YAY, our scrunkly is here!! We have waited so long, and Steel Wool has delivered! Who else is overjoyed?)
Loving the ideas here! Though most people still argue that Moon’s just Sun’s alternate personality like Hyde and Jekyll or like a werewolf side. Which honestly I can’t agree with because for one, canon never confirmed that and two, it’s just less fun that way. It makes more sense that Fazbear Entertainment was too lazy to build two bodies and just stuck two AIs together. They never considered the two would fight for control (virus or not since it’s unclear if Moon was doing that for Vanny or if he was so corrupted and in need of a reboot that he just went nuts/errored in a sort of security mode?) It honestly makes sense that an animatronic taking care of young kids would have one. I’m also wondering if Sun’s insistence on the lights in the original game was due to previously Moon refusing to put them back on and keeping him locked in a nap. We have no evidence that Moon was ever murderous before SB (nothing in game tells us) so it’s more likely Moon just broke the lights or kept them off so much that parents complained and they installed generators. (No idea if we should believe any book lore). I see some people saying that Eclipse is a third AI of his own or just a combo of the two. Sun thanks us but Moon doesn’t (he’s either salty or finally sleepy and back to normal if he has a non murderous normal which I really wanna see if so) Happy to finally see the scrunkly either way! Do you think Steel Wool is planning more with them? I’m hoping they’ll be around in a Help Wanted 2 section/sequel or possibly prequel game/DLC that could show us glimpses of a normal Pizzaplex and then Vanny corrupting/kids going missing. Or just having their own new variations in a brand new game!

Even with the book lore (which we shall take with a grain of salt) there's still so much we don't know about their history and relationship, especially since certain things (such as Moon being controlled by the virus or not) are still unclear. I personally think Eclipse is an odd combo of the two, but them being a third AI wouldn't necessarily surprise me. There's a bit of evidence supporting both sides. On one hand Eclipse's personality has elements from both Sun and Moon (and Sun thanks us at the end), but at the same time Eclipse also acts like an adorable goof who seems oblivious to the daycare definitely not opening the next morning. Either way, I think it's too early to reach a conclusion, especially since it's the game's first day out! Though I definitely think we'll get more content of them! For one, Ruin's story still feels a little unfinished, since none of the endings actually give us a "proper end", so to speak. I'm not sure what the next Security Breach project will be (whether it's more book stuff, another DLC, or even a separate but connected game), but I definitely think that if it can involve the Daycare Attendant, then we will receive more information/lore/content on them. I mean- Let's be honest, Steel Wool is perfectly aware there is an entire section of the fandom that adores this scrunkly! They know we crave more scrunkly content. . . and I hope they will feed us. As for Help Wanted 2... I think it's possible. I don't know how much Security Breach content will be in the game, but it does anything to expand upon Vanessa/Vanny or the virus, then it's always possible we'll get more lore on the Pizzaplex, and by extension the Daycare Attendant. Like I said, Ruin's story feels unfinished, and I'm sure Steel Wool has more planned- So hopefully with whatever they do next, we will get to see more of our scrunkly.
To be honest I feel a little sad for Moon because he just wanted to be free, because it’s Sun who is in control most of the time :c. But yeah I hope the bois will be more here in the future ! :D But also I think they are both better now with the Eclipse mode(?).

Played ruin with my 10 year old son today, was a weird moment when his favourite character Roxy mentioned Cassies birthday as the 11th (his birthday) and that she liked carrot cake (he had a carrot shaped cake for his birthday). Kinda spooky moment tbh
i like that if you walk away after you did the reboot sun quickly says thank you makes me think that when you are put down eclypse quicly deactivates again and sun gains control over the body

You missed a little tiny detail near the end. I’m not sure how, but in Dawko’s play though Su nsaid “thank you” after eclipse escorts you out of the daycare. I dunno how to trigger that, but it’s possible
I love eclipse, he just makes me feel sade for the 10 seconds we see him! He makes me want to repair all the animatronics including monty, just not giving monty claws. I'd still give him the ability to play the guitar, just not make the hands a weapon

We see this with all the animatronics I’m pretty sure I know for a fact we see it with Roxie as well at least where we see a kind of repaired version so if you really consider it moon is like a Brocken program that’s taken over sun it’s become the primary program but we see sun with the mask on so that’s most likely the intended program that’s meant to be in charge caring for children
When he says "not me the other me" i think its because they said he's napping and being forced to stay in the ar world but he needs you to reboot him in the real world to fix everything.
I feel sad for some Animatronics from the entire franchise, some of them just wanted to protect the kids or have fun, like puppet, mangle, sun, moon, eclipse, to some extent the funtime. It's pretty clear from their personalities and actions that they only exist and were programmed to bring happiness, but they become aggressive, corrupted, or were raised under bad circumstances.
Interesting. It's like the mask triggers Sun somehow. I haven't done my research yet, so I can't properly draw a conclusion, but that could have some _very_ interesting implications.
Sun and Moon were always so interesting to me, too bad we didn't get to see more of them. I always thought that Sun just changed into Moon when kids at the Daycare were supposed to have a nap and watch over them but Moon was evil so it never made sense to me. But after this I think I might have theory of my own. Sun said that Cassie has to reboot him because "we need to be whole". Here he means himself and Moon. So I think that Eclipse is like their true form. After all eclipse is both Sun and Moon together. Its kinda as if there were two personalities in one. Also his vocie sounds the most normal when hes Eclipse, the others sound off as if they were broken. Maybe because of virus or anything else Eclipse just split into two characters. Idk. But the fact that theres merch of Sun and Moon and none of Eclipse breaks my theory. So idk.
I think the only reason Moon is evil towards Gregory and Cassie is bcuz of Vanny hacking into everyone and programming them to kill whoever is not an employee
Yes, sun was technically temporarily happier as Eclipse, but I'd almost think rebooting Sun and then destroying the Moon animatronic would be more humane. I guess he's happy he doesn't have Moon in his head, but he may also be aware no more children will be returning eventually. Now, let's be clear. When Eclipse said they had things to repair and clean up before the children arrived-- and, while this may mean they're still unaware of the current state of the Pizzaplex-- it could also mean their future role is even greater than just cleaning up the daycare, and they may plan to attempt to clean up the whole Pizzaplex, as the entity of Eclipse being a literal opposite to the pure darkness and evil represented by Moon and even the Mimic.
In the glitched world it’s Sun, but in the real world, it’s Moon. Sun doesn’t want to be rebooted 5:12, so the developers added that so the player knows who’s gone and who isn’t.
honestly the whole sun and moon thing was pretty interesting and i guess they had a split personality which makes sense then when they brought in eclipse it just made everything make more sense now because you realized that sun/moon were two separates parts of one mind and then when eclipse came into the picture you found out that that had happened but you don't know HOW it happened.
I think you already know that but if you don’t turn any generator on, you’ll have a special interaction with sun that yells at you to back off because it’s not safe. If you put the mask off, you’ll get a jumpscare of moon. You can also put only one generator on and have another special dialogue and jumpscare.
When you interact with the Daycare attendant, you can see that whenever the Moon is speaking, right eye of the Daycare attendant lights up with the color red and the sun rays he has in his mask go inside the mask, so it is physically Moon who you're seeing. On the other hand ... When you interact with the Daycare attendant, you can also see that whenever the Sun is speaking, the left eye lights up with the color yellow and the sun rays that are in his mask go outside and twitch because he's the Sun yk. Also I just noticed that yes, even if the Sun is talking when he grabs Cassie and begs her to reboot him, it can be seen that when the Moon side of him takes over, his right eye doesn't light up because he's in a ruined state (pun intended).

I think what happens is that when you put the mask on and look at moon you actually see sun and so by this logic if you look at sun whit the mask on (which isn't possible in the game but let's say it's in real life) you would see moon so whit the mask on you can see sun when moon is active and you can see moon when sun is active kinda how you can see the oposit of what is happening
NOT ME THE OTHER ME. This also could be a dev inside joke, since the AR world and the real world are not textures but two totally different separate maps which Cassie gets constantly teleported, which also means there are actually 2 Eclipses, 1 for each map.
with the mask on u can see and hear the "consciousness" of alot of the animatronics and u can hear them speaking sometimes even though its just their thoughts and i think when moon is out sun gets tucked away in his mind and u can see that with the mask on
The main reason why you only can talk to sun with the mask is because moon is in control. But sun is there. Inside the mainframe of the animatronic. So he can talk to you only through the mask.
It seems like they are also in AR, like you see things the way thry do. roxy sees herself with her eyes still, and they see barriers were they arent any and dont see barriers were there shouldnt be (sorta like how a roomba maps things out)
I get that it's Sun helping you subdue Moon, but Moon standing right where the lights hit when you turn on the generators and then complaining about it is hilarious to me. Like dude, maybe don't stand there.
I have a theory, when you reboot him he becomes Eclipse. The two halfs together like its suppose to be. So in AR when Sun says "Not me the other me!" I think hes talking about Eclipse because in AR Sun and Moon are separated when they are suppose to be one. So I believe Sun knows they are suppose to be together as Eclipse and is trying to tell you that so you can actually fix him and make him whole.
Could you check the Monty gator golf ride with the mask on? There is a visible mask inhibitor at the final monty cutout of the ride. I was wondering if there is a way to free cam and teleport next to the inhibitor and disable it? And then ride the ride with the Vanny mask on? I just was wondering because unlike other areas it’s the only one I can recall has an inhibitor visible instead of being just disabled. Could you please check this out?
I think there's also dialogue if you approach without turning all the generators on while having the mask on (with the mask off I think you just die to Moon)
Eclipse wishes Cassie a happy birthday. Later in the game the pause screen wishes Cassie a happy birthday. Lastly Roxy mention your birthday, (can’t remember if it was her wishing her birthday or not)
I saw a theory that said eclipse was the original daycare worker and sun and moon were a product of the glitch trap virus. And you know what it makes sense. Here is what they said: 1.) how is moon supposed to be around kids during a very possible nap time. He goes insane and can’t handle the light being off. 2.) sun is kind loud and out going and his tone of voice could definitely overwhelm a kid. 3.) when rebooted they turned into eclipse a softer version of the two, his voice was definitely softer and he was caring for the Cassie. He is definitely more approachable for a kid than sun plus he can be in the dark. This is what I can remember they said and I don’t remember who the creator is but here is another thing that supports this theory: Sun said we need to be whole. Indicating that at one point they were not fighting for dominance at one point and currently they aren’t what they were before. Something happened like say the glitch trap virus that would cause them to have two different personalities but one animatronic body.
Yep, I think it’s this. A daycare worker had to be two conflicting things, fun but strict, loud but not too loud, outgoing but calm. The virus broke the two halves of the programming from the whole.
wow, its interesting that the holograms are self-aware and are their own entity. maybe its a seperate world with different animatronics. Which makes a lot of sense, thats why when she first puts on the mask she gets poked by something, it's for remnant, then they can upload the remnant to a digital robot of cassie in that seperate world and let her control that robot with the vanny mask, and thats why during the endo part when MXES gets you, you also get jumpscared by an endo right after. MXES could not be real and could just be a digital marker for how far away threats are to you. I haven't finished the game, I heard that MXES is a real entity in the end part of the game. Edit: but this doesnt make that much sense because after controlling the robot cassie using remnant, you teleport to the same location it was in, and although teleporting is very much canon in the original security breach (you call freddy and he teleports away from his original position, and during one part of the game with chica she teleports from one room to another.) I dont think the teleporting was intentional, more like a bug in the game.
I still have a theory that since sun and moon and kinda like different animatronics in the base game whatever affect the animatronics only affected moon and not sun and that’s why moon is violent towards you and sun isn’t, of course this also could be because moon is more of making sure kids stay asleep and don’t wake up the other kids while sun is playing with the kids, or at least that’s my take

Rebooted Eclipse seems to still not understand the true state of the whole place, but seems content seeing Cassie as evidence that there’s still kids around. The question is what happens when Eclipse realizes the same thing as Sun, that the kids aren’t coming back 😢

Without the mask you see Moon, but in the AR you see Sun, so it's basically a way to tell you "Ehy I'm the one trapped here, you need to reboot the active AI" (Because we need to remember than Sun and Moon are two separate AIs, if one is present in the real world the other is probably inactive and before all of the mess the inactive one would be chilling out in the AR world). Really nice touch!
It’s kinda sad that Sun and Moon got LESS screen time than in the base game. I was really expecting them to start following you around and helping you and such, especially since Eclipse had come out. But, it’s fine, we’ll just have to wait for the next FNAF game in the next 20 years. (That is an exaggeration, do not take that as pure fact. I am sure that a new FNAF game will come out LONG before 20 years.)

This also shows that "safe mode" isn't used the way a computer does. Safety mode is about protecting kids around you. I think eclipse was his safety mode from when he was an actor. Sun and Moon are his acting modes not meant to babysit. The virus forced the animatronics to disregard safety mode which should be active when children are going to be touching or close to the animatronic.
I could see Sun & Moon being used for special events or performances (i.e. craft time w Sun, story time w Moon, puppet show w Sun or maybe even strictly Moon doing night security like I've seen a lot in fandom) but maybe Eclipse is the actual daycare attendant that interacts with the kids the majority of the day & ensures their safety as they play :V
There's a huge difference between *safety* mode and *safe* mode, the Glamrock animatronics run on Windows so Freddy rebooting into safe mode like a computer does makes sense

If there’s another dlc like everyone’s expecting, I wonder if Eclipse will actually have cleaned up certain areas of the Pizzaplex. His whole attitude of “the kids will be here tomorrow I gotta clean up” gives me major Wall-E vibes where there’s one Bot trying to fix a huge mess. I also wonder if there would be endings in a second dlc that are different depending on what you did in Ruin, like if you fix chicas voice box she becomes an ally later on etc.
Still there is not much a broken animatronic can do, i really would like a pizzaplex reconstruction, (Mostly because of my desire of a possible SB 2 in the future) but that would kinda kill the horror type of the game

The augmented reality world is supposed to be a gateway of sorts through areas and what not, meaning it bases itself off the real world, but in a digital scape that stems from all of the pizzaplex, the surroundings, technology, etc.
When Sun says "The other me", he's asking you to repair the real him, because with the mask on, you can only communicate with his augmented self, the one inside the ar world.
Nobody talks about sun's line "I am trapped in a nap" sun can only talk when the vanny mask is on because he's not actually there, moon is in the real world, he took over and is trying to hold sun in the nap he says "take your nap, no more sun"

It pains me deeply how devastated the animatronics like Sun and Roxy are with all thw situation of the building and of themselves, I mean that phrases of sun about being alone and no crafts to do, and that one dialogue with Roxy when we're about to deactivate her when she says she remembers us (cassie) beacuse "we are the number one, two times", these speeches broke me in a way i didn't knew were possible
If you put it like this, Eclipse is the literal combinations of Sun and Moon's personalities, he is Fun and Soft like sun But also makes sure kids get what they need: A break, just like Moon
if you listen to their dialogue, moon only talks when your mask is off and sun talks with it on. So if you were to reboot sun and not moon (rebooting him with the mask on) Im pretty sure moon would have full control no matter what happens, meaning i think sun would basically just die lol.
Basically since moon is the one corrupted by the virus from the base game whereas sun isn’t, so maybe rebooting sun would probably just make things worse with the virus still implemented from the looks of moon.

When you reboot the daycare attendant, eclipse might only show up as a temporary personality while the light sensors turn on.
I think this just shows that whenever you have the Vanny mask on and you’re in the AR “world”, that Sun is also in there/a part of it too. Moon is currently the one physically out and using the body, while Sun is just an ai, inside maybe a sort of shared headspace and part of the AR world. And even though it’s not shown I can probably guess that if Sun was the one physically out, then Moon would be the one you’d see with the mask on.
Also, regarding the idea of them having a shared headspace, this can be shown when Sun first encounters you. For a brief moment Moon appears, kind of pushing his way into the headspace to confront you and see what’s going on, but then gets pushed back out by Sun, and you can see that he is struggling to have control, him and Moon almost having this constant fight between each other
for those who don't know you get teleported between maps If you have a debug menu or camera you can fly down without the mask and you will see the glitched version of the map

I kinda figured that’s how they did it. Sometimes when you take the mask off, your orientation doesn’t match were you were last facing leading me to suspect you were being moved between maps.
On the question of which Eclipse we see, Solar or Lunar, I think its Solar because whenever the Daycare Attendant is Sun, his little pointy triangle flaps are out. Whenever its Moon, they aren’t out. When we meet Eclipse, Sun’s pointy triangle flaps are out, so it’s most likely a Solar Eclipse.
Whenever sun is in control you see the yellow triangles going out but when Moon is out you see his little hat

There are a few other strange interactions (leaving outside Roxy talking to us in the game normally near the end), which I think actually reflects quite a bit of duality in the animatronics. (Kind of going off one of Matpat's recent theories of Charlie potentially being influential in all of this along with something else controlling the pizzaplex) so, it'll be interesting to see what else comes up as days go by

Wow!- Such a cool detail, definitely didn't notice it before, but it actually makes a lot of sense thinking about it now.
The generators are OFF when we first enter the daycare. There's NO LIGHT (well, there is, but it's dim). Moon even says to us "no light" and for Sun to keep napping. The game is directly implying to us that Moon is in control, because the lights are "off".
However when we wear the mask and see the AR world, we see Sun (or AR Sun? Sun's code? Idk, it's Sun), because the amount of light doesn't matter in the AR world. We are quite literally seeing that Sun is trapped, and that he's asking us to help give him back at least some degree of control by turning on the generators and rebooting them.
Which we're happily able to do and accomplish, thus giving us Eclipse. Merging the two into a being where the amount of light does not matter. Finally granting them a form of peace where neither of them has to be "napping", and Sun thanks us for granting him that freedom, for helping him no longer be trapped.
Side Note: Now this is just my take on things, but I like to think Moon wasn't intentionally preventing Sun coming out for no reason. As we see in the base game, Sun was the one primarily in control unless the lights were off, we only saw Moon when the power was out. Moon was only able to stop "napping" when it was dark, which only happened a few times.
Then the tables turn in the DLC, and finally Moon doesn't have to be the one always napping. He gets more control, and is adamant about not returning to his own "nap", because (and let's be honest) he probably hated it. I mean- We even see that Sun doesn't like it either!
A part of Moon was probably even worried that if the lights did come on, that Sun would return to his classic "keep the lights on" spiel, and wouldn't give him equal control. Idk, I feel like it just gives us a better idea of his reasoning. We still don't know too much about these amazing characters and their full story.
Either way- I'm really happy that we as the players are able to help the Daycare Attendant enter a more stable state, where both of them appear to have the control they both desperately wanted.

Loving the ideas here! Though most people still argue that Moon’s just Sun’s alternate personality like Hyde and Jekyll or like a werewolf side. Which honestly I can’t agree with because for one, canon never confirmed that and two, it’s just less fun that way. It makes more sense that Fazbear Entertainment was too lazy to build two bodies and just stuck two AIs together. They never considered the two would fight for control (virus or not since it’s unclear if Moon was doing that for Vanny or if he was so corrupted and in need of a reboot that he just went nuts/errored in a sort of security mode?) It honestly makes sense that an animatronic taking care of young kids would have one.
I’m also wondering if Sun’s insistence on the lights in the original game was due to previously Moon refusing to put them back on and keeping him locked in a nap. We have no evidence that Moon was ever murderous before SB (nothing in game tells us) so it’s more likely Moon just broke the lights or kept them off so much that parents complained and they installed generators. (No idea if we should believe any book lore).
I see some people saying that Eclipse is a third AI of his own or just a combo of the two. Sun thanks us but Moon doesn’t (he’s either salty or finally sleepy and back to normal if he has a non murderous normal which I really wanna see if so) Happy to finally see the scrunkly either way!
Do you think Steel Wool is planning more with them? I’m hoping they’ll be around in a Help Wanted 2 section/sequel or possibly prequel game/DLC that could show us glimpses of a normal Pizzaplex and then Vanny corrupting/kids going missing. Or just having their own new variations in a brand new game!
@@starrfall214 I get what you mean! Even with the book lore (which we shall take with a grain of salt) there's still so much we don't know about their history and relationship, especially since certain things (such as Moon being controlled by the virus or not) are still unclear.
I personally think Eclipse is an odd combo of the two, but them being a third AI wouldn't necessarily surprise me. There's a bit of evidence supporting both sides. On one hand Eclipse's personality has elements from both Sun and Moon (and Sun thanks us at the end), but at the same time Eclipse also acts like an adorable goof who seems oblivious to the daycare definitely not opening the next morning. Either way, I think it's too early to reach a conclusion, especially since it's the game's first day out!
Though I definitely think we'll get more content of them! For one, Ruin's story still feels a little unfinished, since none of the endings actually give us a "proper end", so to speak. I'm not sure what the next Security Breach project will be (whether it's more book stuff, another DLC, or even a separate but connected game), but I definitely think that if it can involve the Daycare Attendant, then we will receive more information/lore/content on them.
I mean- Let's be honest, Steel Wool is perfectly aware there is an entire section of the fandom that adores this scrunkly! They know we crave more scrunkly content. . . and I hope they will feed us.
As for Help Wanted 2... I think it's possible. I don't know how much Security Breach content will be in the game, but it does anything to expand upon Vanessa/Vanny or the virus, then it's always possible we'll get more lore on the Pizzaplex, and by extension the Daycare Attendant.
Like I said, Ruin's story feels unfinished, and I'm sure Steel Wool has more planned- So hopefully with whatever they do next, we will get to see more of our scrunkly.
Also also!! At the end when sun says "thank you" you're not wearing the mask anymore :D which means he's free from the nap ^^
To be honest I feel a little sad for Moon because he just wanted to be free, because it’s Sun who is in control most of the time :c. But yeah I hope the bois will be more here in the future ! :D But also I think they are both better now with the Eclipse mode(?).

I actually found most of that dialog going through the game myself. I thought it was sad, since Sun is such a happy guy, while Moon is a monster.
Played ruin with my 10 year old son today, was a weird moment when his favourite character Roxy mentioned Cassies birthday as the 11th (his birthday) and that she liked carrot cake (he had a carrot shaped cake for his birthday). Kinda spooky moment tbh

We see this with all the animatronics I’m pretty sure I know for a fact we see it with Roxie as well at least where we see a kind of repaired version so if you really consider it moon is like a Brocken program that’s taken over sun it’s become the primary program but we see sun with the mask on so that’s most likely the intended program that’s meant to be in charge caring for children

I feel sad for some Animatronics from the entire franchise, some of them just wanted to protect the kids or have fun, like puppet, mangle, sun, moon, eclipse, to some extent the funtime. It's pretty clear from their personalities and actions that they only exist and were programmed to bring happiness, but they become aggressive, corrupted, or were raised under bad circumstances.
Maybe he reacts like that because when you put on the mask, it’s not a filter. It’s another map beneath the normal one. -^-

I always thought that Sun just changed into Moon when kids at the Daycare were supposed to have a nap and watch over them but Moon was evil so it never made sense to me. But after this I think I might have theory of my own.
Sun said that Cassie has to reboot him because "we need to be whole". Here he means himself and Moon. So I think that Eclipse is like their true form. After all eclipse is both Sun and Moon together. Its kinda as if there were two personalities in one. Also his vocie sounds the most normal when hes Eclipse, the others sound off as if they were broken. Maybe because of virus or anything else Eclipse just split into two characters. Idk.

Yes, sun was technically temporarily happier as Eclipse, but I'd almost think rebooting Sun and then destroying the Moon animatronic would be more humane. I guess he's happy he doesn't have Moon in his head, but he may also be aware no more children will be returning eventually.
Now, let's be clear. When Eclipse said they had things to repair and clean up before the children arrived-- and, while this may mean they're still unaware of the current state of the Pizzaplex-- it could also mean their future role is even greater than just cleaning up the daycare, and they may plan to attempt to clean up the whole Pizzaplex, as the entity of Eclipse being a literal opposite to the pure darkness and evil represented by Moon and even the Mimic.

In the glitched world it’s Sun, but in the real world, it’s Moon. Sun doesn’t want to be rebooted 5:12, so the developers added that so the player knows who’s gone and who isn’t.
honestly the whole sun and moon thing was pretty interesting and i guess they had a split personality which makes sense then when they brought in eclipse it just made everything make more sense now because you realized that sun/moon were two separates parts of one mind and then when eclipse came into the picture you found out that that had happened but you don't know HOW it happened.
I think you already know that but if you don’t turn any generator on, you’ll have a special interaction with sun that yells at you to back off because it’s not safe. If you put the mask off, you’ll get a jumpscare of moon. You can also put only one generator on and have another special dialogue and jumpscare.
When you interact with the Daycare attendant, you can see that whenever the Moon is speaking, right eye of the Daycare attendant lights up with the color red and the sun rays he has in his mask go inside the mask, so it is physically Moon who you're seeing.
On the other hand ...
When you interact with the Daycare attendant, you can also see that whenever the Sun is speaking, the left eye lights up with the color yellow and the sun rays that are in his mask go outside and twitch because he's the Sun yk.
Also I just noticed that yes, even if the Sun is talking when he grabs Cassie and begs her to reboot him, it can be seen that when the Moon side of him takes over, his right eye doesn't light up because he's in a ruined state (pun intended).

I think what happens is that when you put the mask on and look at moon you actually see sun and so by this logic if you look at sun whit the mask on (which isn't possible in the game but let's say it's in real life) you would see moon so whit the mask on you can see sun when moon is active and you can see moon when sun is active kinda how you can see the oposit of what is happening

with the mask on u can see and hear the "consciousness" of alot of the animatronics and u can hear them speaking sometimes even though its just their thoughts and i think when moon is out sun gets tucked away in his mind and u can see that with the mask on
The main reason why you only can talk to sun with the mask is because moon is in control. But sun is there. Inside the mainframe of the animatronic. So he can talk to you only through the mask.

I have a theory, when you reboot him he becomes Eclipse. The two halfs together like its suppose to be. So in AR when Sun says "Not me the other me!" I think hes talking about Eclipse because in AR Sun and Moon are separated when they are suppose to be one. So I believe Sun knows they are suppose to be together as Eclipse and is trying to tell you that so you can actually fix him and make him whole.
I was hoping to see more of them like we saw more of moon in the last SB.

Could you check the Monty gator golf ride with the mask on? There is a visible mask inhibitor at the final monty cutout of the ride.
I was wondering if there is a way to free cam and teleport next to the inhibitor and disable it? And then ride the ride with the Vanny mask on? I just was wondering because unlike other areas it’s the only one I can recall has an inhibitor visible instead of being just disabled. Could you please check this out?
I think there's also dialogue if you approach without turning all the generators on while having the mask on (with the mask off I think you just die to Moon)
It's because of the two maps I'm guessing. There is a map for the mask on and the mask off so different things get triggered.

Eclipse wishes Cassie a happy birthday. Later in the game the pause screen wishes Cassie a happy birthday. Lastly Roxy mention your birthday, (can’t remember if it was her wishing her birthday or not)

I saw a theory that said eclipse was the original daycare worker and sun and moon were a product of the glitch trap virus. And you know what it makes sense. Here is what they said:
1.) how is moon supposed to be around kids during a very possible nap time. He goes insane and can’t handle the light being off.
2.) sun is kind loud and out going and his tone of voice could definitely overwhelm a kid.
3.) when rebooted they turned into eclipse a softer version of the two, his voice was definitely softer and he was caring for the Cassie. He is definitely more approachable for a kid than sun plus he can be in the dark.
This is what I can remember they said and I don’t remember who the creator is but here is another thing that supports this theory:
Sun said we need to be whole. Indicating that at one point they were not fighting for dominance at one point and currently they aren’t what they were before. Something happened like say the glitch trap virus that would cause them to have two different personalities but one animatronic body.
Yep, I think it’s this. A daycare worker had to be two conflicting things, fun but strict, loud but not too loud, outgoing but calm. The virus broke the two halves of the programming from the whole.

wow, its interesting that the holograms are self-aware and are their own entity. maybe its a seperate world with different animatronics.
Which makes a lot of sense, thats why when she first puts on the mask she gets poked by something, it's for remnant, then they can upload the remnant to a digital robot of cassie in that seperate world and let her control that robot with the vanny mask, and thats why during the endo part when MXES gets you, you also get jumpscared by an endo right after. MXES could not be real and could just be a digital marker for how far away threats are to you.
I haven't finished the game, I heard that MXES is a real entity in the end part of the game.
Edit: but this doesnt make that much sense because after controlling the robot cassie using remnant, you teleport to the same location it was in, and although teleporting is very much canon in the original security breach (you call freddy and he teleports away from his original position, and during one part of the game with chica she teleports from one room to another.) I dont think the teleporting was intentional, more like a bug in the game.

I still have a theory that since sun and moon and kinda like different animatronics in the base game whatever affect the animatronics only affected moon and not sun and that’s why moon is violent towards you and sun isn’t, of course this also could be because moon is more of making sure kids stay asleep and don’t wake up the other kids while sun is playing with the kids, or at least that’s my take
Is it possible that characters personalities can get locked into AR mode? Is that possibly what happened to all the animatronics? They got trapped in the AR mode and something else was controlling them while they thought they were doing something different?
