  • In this video we head to Seary's Creek in Queensland, Australia; a beautiful freshwater stream for swimming, which is teeming with aquatic life. We got to see some native rainbow fish (as well as some creepy catfish). We were also lucky enough to spot a rare/endangered species in the creek which we didn't expect to find!
Jason from Australian Biotopes showed us around the area with his family, and Nick from KeepingFishSimple also came along with his girlfriend Sarah. In Part 2 we will visit more of Rainbow Beach and show you another spot where we were able to catch some fish.

I travelled around qld in 2015 and rented a place in Hervey Bay for 6 months and spent a great few weeks on Fraser Island. I spent most of my time snorkeling and appreciating the marine life. Now I'm back in England and have become addicted to freshwater fishkeeping. My most recent additions are red neon blue eyd rainbowfish, while researching them I've found your channel and absolutely love it ❤ my nephew now lives in Maryborough and I've been sharing your videos with him and planning on exploring the freshwater ecosystems with him asap, so you have 2 new fans and have helped a young lad aquire a new found healthy hobby and we owe you a massive thankyou. We hope you get all the luck you deserve and blow up massively and keep inspiring the younger generations to put down the phones and computer games and appreciate the wonderful world we all share x

Love your work, Kaity. The ell-tail catfish took me back to my early teens when me and a mate would walk the creeks up behind Dayboro. We'd spot the nests and mark the bank with a stick poked in the ground. Then, once it got dark we'd fish the marked spots. We'd always go home with a couple of fish for us to have a good breakfast.

Could you tell me where you got this plastic screen please? I would love to add that to the top of my aquariums, brilliant idea. Hi Kaity, i went to a creek in the Hunter Valley last week. Caught 100 odd baby fish all the same kind…They were..
    “Eastern Gambusia (Gambusia holbrooki)”
All ranging from fry too 3cm
Thought you might find this interesting as you were the one who inspired me to explore my local creek.

Hi Mason! That's so great to hear you got to have a nice day out catching fish 😊 And great for the ecosystem too taking them out of the waterways and helping the native fish!
