- KLM trip report from Amsterdam to Vienna onboard the biggest Boeing 737 900. A beautiful morning for flying in AMS and very cloudy weather in Vienna.
During the descent we had some turbulences that allowed us to see how nice is the B737 wing flex. Enjoy this flight in the great B737!

Well, when you have to level off in the middle of descent it's not so unusual to hear the engines like that for a short time :)
Stunning video.That plane is an old one but looks well maintenanced.Last time I flew with KLM was from Amsterdam to Athens in an A310.Back at the 80s I flew in a 747-200 from Mexico to Amsterdam.I respect this airline.You are lucky with your window conditions.So clean.

Muy bonito el vídeo sobre todo el avión ese azul me gusta y KLM junto con Lufthansa son mis favoritas, el aeropuerto de viena es genial y espero que el calvito con gafas de adelante tuyo se despertara con las turbulencias porque se quedó dormido al poco de despegar yo no podría hacerlo con tantas cosas para ver. Ya hace un tiempo que no vuelo con Lufthansa. En los últimos tiempos han subido pecios y reducido algunos servicios. Eso, sumado a que he viajados ya mucho con ellos, y que en general no son muy demandados los reportajes de Lufthansa en TH-cam, me han hecho ir volando más con otras.
No obstante, tengo ganas de volver a hacer un vuelo con ellos :)

Seriously? Why? Huge one terminal building. long walking distances, long taxi distances, low ceilings, pretty dark terminals (only a little daylight), short of seating at gates, expensive, staff, lack of ability to speak languages etc. Very mediocre airport.
KLM , es mi querida linea aerea. con la que mas vole , amo a KLM , es la linea aerea mas antigua , se fundo en Octubre de 1919 , cuyo fundador fue Albert Plesman

Un comentario si me permites: KLM no posee la version ER del 737-900, sino la mas simple 900. Una verdadera rara ave entre los 737 ya que sacrifico autonomia por capacidad. Solo vuelan un puñado con Alaska, United (heredados de Continental) y KLM naturalmente. La version ER vino a solucionar un tanto el tema alcance, que sigue siendo inferior a la version 700 y 800 de los NG. Ademas al ser de mayores dimensiones su performance en despegues y aterrizajes es complicada. En el aeropuerto Reagan National DCA operan con restricciones por las limitaciones del aeropuerto. Para mi, KLM es la que tiene la livrea más bonita de todos actualmente, aunque no me termina de convencer ese morrito nuevo...¿una pregunta;..porque le tapas la cara a algunos, te lo piden?...
KLM es de las pocas aerolíneas que han decidido mantener la librea fuera de la tendencia Europea a dejar el avión blanco excepto la cola. Algo de agradecer y que, sin duda, hace que cualquier avión de la aerolínea sea reconocido en cualquier sitio.
Tapo las caras de la gente que sale en primer plano mirando a la cámara. :)

This I believe is just the normal 737-900, not the ER model, the 737-900ER first flew in 2006
BTW next summer, I am flying Amsterdam to Vienna on a KLM 737-800 but the flight number will be KL1847

Absolutely.
737NG is one of the safest planes around. 737MAX the worst jet ever flown. But of course that will change as soon as it will return into business.

Hola, eso es las bombas de combustibles, temas de hidraulicos
Se llama PTU (Power Transfer Unit).
Un avión tiene varios sistemas hidráulicos, cada uno alimentado por un motor distinto. Cada sistema hidráulico alimenta diferentes cosas (uno los flaps, spoilers, elevador...;;; otro los alerones, timón de cola, tren de aterrizaje... etc).
Cuando un avión rueda en un aeropuerto muy grande (especialmente los Airbus) a veces lo hacen sólo con 1 motor encendido, para consumir menos. Si uno de los motores está apagado, entonces el sistema hidráulico al que alimenta pierde su energia, de modo que hay muchas cosas que dejarían de funcionar.
La PTU transmite energía hidráulica de un sistema a otro, de modo que todos tienen energía.
He intentado ser todo lo simple posible. :)

They make a lot of profit with the connecting flights. In flag carriers, major profit comes from long-haul flights, that are fed by this connections.
