Sounded great over those drums. I like how you explained exactly what to look out for. You can really hear the kick punch through when engaging the sidechain highpass filter. Very nice comp.
@@Apemedia888 Lots; we are the main UK dealer for Thermionic Culture. The Phoenix is a cleaner, smoother sound than the Tubecore, which is much thicker, punchier and more colourful sounding. As such the Phoenix is more versatile, but not as aggressive or bold.
@@sxproaudio Hi, as much as posible. Front, back, price, electrical requirements of the room where it would be installed; and of course to have a perspective of the size with someone sitting on it. Thank you.
Good question! It's not the same in many ways. Looking at the functions initially, the Grandchild is more faithful to the fairchild design, with fixed time constant presets, where the Tubecore has dedicated attack/release settings. Mainly, the difference is in sound and how you use it. A fairchild (and Grandchild!) normally shines when it is absolutely smashed, meters pinned to -20. You can't do this with the Tubecore, but you don't need to. The Tubecore oozes flavour with much less effort. In short, the Grandchild is more subtle and handles more delicate sources well, where the tubecore is for adding fairchild-like flavour to your audio but via different application method.
@@quietpersona Different price points so not the fairest comparison. The Amphions are proper midfield monitor, with full bass extension to 25hz. The SCM25 is a near field monitor with roll off at 54hz. They have very different designs (Amphions sealed, ATCs ported) and crossover points. If you can afford the Amphions they are definitely a better purchase; you get what you pay for. Again, not a fair comparison due to the Amphions costing over £4000 more.
@@sxproaudio thank you so much! I would probably pair the ATC's with the ATC SCS70 Pro Sub, which would bring their prices to about equal. I'm looking for the best mix translation and I'm upgrading from Focal Solo 6be gen 1 speakers.

Nice one!! 👍 thanks!
Id love to hear your take on this mate
@@Rhuggins I haven't actually tried one yet. I'm a huge fan of Polish brands in audio. They seem to be building the best gear at the moment.
IGS seem to be making some really cracking gear! Beautiful tone to that compressor!
Phat, full, sounds very great. Thanks !
Please, an audio example on vocals !!! :)
You'll need to try one yourself for this ;)
Heyy awesome video! Would love a video on the dangerous comp as well 🔥🤙

Wondering how it compares to the Phoenix Compressor...Any experience?

Pleasantly surprised at the price. I was expecting it to be at least double that. That's a steal for less than 2k ex VAT...
Totally agreed, really good value!
Guys do you have the Neve Bcm10 mkii 32 channel?
Please send all sales enquiries to sales@sxpro.co.uk 👍
@@sxproaudio Hi, I meant for you guys to show it
@@preciseaudioblog This is something we will cover in the future for sure - what do you want to see in such a video?

Yes, got it within 0.1dB LUFS!
Awesome run though, thanks! How does this compare with the Heritage Audio Grandchild ?

How does this compare to the Grandchild?
The Tubecore is super-colourful and vibey. The Grandchild is much cleaner and more transparent with a touch of transformer goodness!
How do you like the Amphion One25A? I'm torn between those and ATC SCM25A Mk2
