So i was wrong about Calypso being imprisoned, apperently i mixed up my Riordan and Homer. Feel free to roast me for being a wanabe greek mythology fan XD
You didn't mix it up,she IS ACTUALLY imprisoned in the actual myths! You should read up on it! And her being imprisoned doesn't justify what she did to Odysseyus in the myths,if we're honest- In the myths (don't know about Epic) she assaulted him constantly, which ended with them having 2 kids. And Odysseyus was crying for Penelope every night. It's... Very messed up.
I would never say anything could justify such actions, there is nothing that can. However i can feel sympathy (not empathy) for the terible conditions that can drive a person to such actions. I would still stop her from doing it if i could and not let her hurt anyone else
Really? I swear i've read it in other myths, just not in the odessy Edit: just the imprisoned part, not the falling in love part Edit 2: some brief googeling told me that it predates riordan, but is after homer by alot more, so safe to say i'm wrong there
You sure? I read once that she was imprissioned there after she sided with her dad (don't remember what Titan) as a punishment or something. Never read Percy Jackson so about the Love thing I never heard, but her being trapped there I have
There’s definitely a difference with this Calypso. Even though she clearly WANTS to sleep with him, judging by the fact that after 7 years no children are seen or mentioned we have no evidence they actually DID anything. It’s entirely possible he was just roaming away for 7 years trying to find a way to live while she was trying to make her advances and this was his breaking point
This is definitely the saddest part (and it might just beat ruthlessness and just a man as my favourite). I cant wait for the vengeance saga: Wet hades boss battle time! Also, a quick note: ody's journey was 20 years long, 10 years at war, 1 with circe, 7 with calypso and 2 on the sea with various other monsters
@@ZerrieKnox yeah so my goodbye -> thunder bringer is 3 years, which I feel like is to long, but since jay made his 12 long years mistake, that's the best way to put it together

Ok, so Calypso being imprisoned on her island (and being cursed to fall in love with visitors) is a Percy Jackson invention. She just... lives there.

@@sofialu226I think her father was atlas.
@@sofialu226 Yeah, that's a source based on Percy Jackson. There's no source for this in myths.
@@DarthEdgyBoy I actually wasn't aware it predated Riordan, my bad! Thank you for teaching me a little bit.
Ody considering to rip himself was NOT something I expected but goddamn was it so sad 😭😭
Yes OMG! I just posted a vid called "The sadest animatic ever" not to long ago and now this drops. Messing with my heart
Yes! It destroyed me emotionally
You mean kill himself?

The year with circe is actually completely cut in EPIC, so we can assume he just spent an extra year at sea/
it's been 10 years since Athena saw Ody
It's been 7 years post Thunder Bringer/Start of Legendary
