Do you know what your nectar sources are?
How do you know?
Can you smell it?
This year my honey will comprise of three or four primary nectar sources.
Mid-Late June - Lingonberries + a mix of wildflowers
July - Fireweed + Marsh Fleawort + Bog Yellowcress
I use iNaturalist to help me identify the plant, see how common it is in my area and when people are seeing them with flowers. I also look at the pollen grains under a microscope to get an accurate ID.
