Nice job fixing that problem! I love that model's looks. The VFD and blue tones are so nice on the eyes. And of course the specs of the deck are nice on the ears. A great deck for sure.
overhyped in my opinion. I remember seeking for tests and nothing of any significance came up. At least when you bought something like a SA-X Black you knew it had some improvement and even TDK themselves provided a graph of the improved IM distortion test. For how I see it if the bearing itself is nothing short of outstanding in tolerances chances are that the bearing's vibration gets reflected onto tape... something which I don't believe it is truer with a plastic and metal coupling which is already a bushing in itself and can also be greased or lubricated. I usually do the second with a very tiny droplet of light silicone oil which is both compatible with plastic and metal.
@@apogeios these rollers may be not the best, but considering that owner runs tapes daily these rollers will perform longer and better than poor original
I notice a lot of attention had been given to details and I cannot understand how you overlooked the pinch roller. If it was this shiny it must have been pretty gone already 2 years ago. As a rule of thumb if there is a slipping clutch the reel spindles need to be greased or lubricated. Of course if the tension is provided by the hub itself more viscous grease must be used.
@@m80116 the problem is that replacement for Nakamichi rollers is not easily available due to the size. These rollers are 7 mm wide vs other decks 8mm.
@@hifirulezzz I can probably see where you're going, I am assuming it was 13/7/2 and you probably had 13/8/2 in which case the closest replacement is 13/6.5/2 with plastic hub. Did you find it in the end? I have adapted some 13.5/8/2 plastic hub to machines that required in the past to fit in an approx 7mm pin slot.

New amazing repairing and video. I named it Blue moon Nakamichi

How are those Athan pinch rollers? I remember there was discussion earlier that they aren't great.
@@nimam81 From my experience they are fine, require a bit more frequent cleaning than rubber rollers, but grip is very good.
@hifirulezzz thank you! I really enjoy your videos and they have helped me service my Nak decks.
Hi sir what voltage are them LEDs please .

All good but THAT blue… some would be calling it “suicidal blue” 🙀

I thought you had bad experience with Athan pinch rollers? I can remember you making a video of it, what changed your mind this time?

@@m80116 it is not, Original Nakamichi transport uses 11x7x2. I found now a source, posted video recently.
