easy to follow, no fast forward not missing anything. As far as safety goes, I personally would have it on a stand not just the jack just to be sure. However he seems to know what he is doing, so ok.
Be sure not to mix bearings up like in this video , the bearings have ran in with their cups and placing bearings in different cups will speed up the wear
Very good info well done its the best guide on the internet and his comments on rocker roller suspension is so true can't stand independent suspension after owning two vans with it adds a lots of weight aswell.
Always interesting when videos regarding mechanical repairs get posted. Most of us mechanics have differing work practices. There were a couple of things I am sure others would have done differently in this video. Was a jack stand even used to back up that bottle jack? Don’t reuse hub seals or split pins unless it is absolutely necessary. Don’t paint the face of the hub surface, paint can contribute to wheel nuts working loose. That centre rocker bush on the LH side looks like it wasn’t taking grease properly. Just my thoughts, thanks for the Vid. Keep enjoying your trip👍
Thanks for your comments, yes everyone does do it all a bit differently I am sure. As long as people are servicing and checking these things, just wanted to bring awareness that vans also need looking after 😄
@@Travelling4AdventureAustralia that’s great news, glad there was a little sun, congrats on your travels the kids will never forget this time with you both , please stay safe and enjoy everything you do , thanks for sharing your travels 🙂
It still surprises me that people who should know better, will rely on a single hydraulic jack to support a van/vehicle when doing this type of work. An accident waiting to happen.
@@Cusk0 Where? Tell me where in the video you can see it being held by support stands. If you are talking about the vans own support stands, which also are not being used, they are designed to 'stabilise' the van .. NOT support it. The ONLY support I can see is the hydraulic jack!!
Very dangerous practice relying on the jack , at the very least you can put the caravan stabilisers down to assist in support and throw the tyre under the axle . But if at home or your getting someone out to do it there is no excuse not to use proper axle stands . People have died from relying on jacks.
a jack, but no jack stands. leg under the caravan, again no stands. a rag to wipe the grease away, but it's been laying in the dirt. van not hooked up to the car. no chocks under the opposite wheels. no need to go any further than that. the video should be headed "what not to do".

This is the most practical and easy to follow lesson I have seen. Well done. I am doing mine as per Tony's instructions!

Ah an old school bearing packer love it
Thank you! Great video and expertise - exactly what I was looking for at the moment.

Yeah, didn't see any jack stands
I wonder why it was okay to damage the guy's dust caps, too.
Thankyou for the video , really interesting , apologies for our Perth weather but it does get better 🌞
Haha yeah we still very much enjoyed it 🥰

and the jack stands are where now?
How much grease was added to the hubs other than the bearings?
What happens if the seal is seated too far in and onto the bearing?

You can see its on its support stands.

At least it's a bottle & not scissor jack
