Can't wait for this. Have one of the tentacle sync recorders and it's been awesome, but holy cow is it hard to buy them in my country on the other side of the world. Deity supply chain seems to be a bit better so can't wait for this.
Finally it's available... I wonder why it took over a year after its release... but this promises to be a fantastic product and the price is really super
Like tentacle, it would be good to include a version without the lav. I salute the batteries but it’s a tiny bit big, maybe , hard to tell, but records stereo - but not metadata? It pushes it very slightly towards jack of all trades-which can be good depending what you want. Where it’s at, the tentacle system is fantastic. Less so in the states because the ability to monitor a recording somehow brings up patent stuff. Didn’t seem to bother Sony and their recording Walkmans back in the 80s but hey...off topic The ability to stamp timecode on a tiny portable stereo recorder is also fantastic although if it’s sat on your camera not really necessary but as remote mic, great. If zoom could sort their Bluetooth app to allow easier naming and display of units, and allow the f2 to jam timecode through the mic input, that would also be...
@@OzpeterThe Zoom F3 is a pain in the ass to sync. You essentially need another device to transfer the TC. What Nicholas is saying makes a ton of sense.
If I understand correctly.... if you have one Deity TC1 on set, you can time-code jam all the PR2's that you have recording at the time ?? If so, I want 8 of this !!!
I have been waiting for this device to sell for almost a year now and still not available :-(. Please hurry up Deity :-). He said one should still get one TC-1 timecode box for timecode to work on PR-2 so I presume the master timecode function is reserved for TC-1 and PR-2 will only be able to work as slave timecode boxes. Still huge advantage to get that feature in an audio recorder. Now if it could also do phantom power like the Deity DLTX it would be perfect.
Sounds awesome! Will we be able to select the colour of the W.Lav Pro when we purchase it? I'd like to start with three units, one with a beige lav, one with black, and, if possible, it would be nice to buy one without the lav at a lower cost since I plan to use one just to plug into soundboards. I was stoked when I heard it accepted line level!
If I want to record everyday, travel, walk tour, TH-cam that talk from behind the camera and at some distance, I want to step into record elements for game and vocal and instruments for music too, after some research, I come to this 4 setups, Sennheiser MKE 440, MKE 600, Line Audio CW4 and Deity HD-TX, the video will be record using Panasonic HC-X1500 camcorder, is this good minimal run and gun setup that deal with untreated room too? When to record in stereo and mono in my cases, music instruments and vocal all in stereo or each in mono, how about surround sound, do I need omnidirectional mic to create surround sound, or can just make a binaural setup to cover everything? Some say stereo mic not good for vocal, true? Shouldn't walk tour be surround sound, why people use directional mic for that? One TH-camr say pencil condenser cover wider field by not cancel the sides like shotgun mic, is this mean I can use just one pencil condenser to cover all the above stereo and mono needs? Should I get both or one between MKE 600 and CW4? Does the MKE 440 stereo good enough/better and I don't need two CW4? Can the CW4 catch same/further distance voice/sound compare to MKE 600? Do I need the shotgun mic or CW4 will do to record outdoor sound for game elements? How do I record my behind the camera voice if I use the MKE 440 stereo mic facing Front when walking, attach CW4 to HD-TX facing rear or 1 CW4 front 1 CW4 back? Can I use one of the MKE 440 stereo mics as mono shotgun mic? The camcorder has an option handle with 2 XLR inputs, do I need it, can I use it as music elements recorder? Do I need 32 bits? If I just want a small XLR recorder and not going to use the wireless transmission, is HD-TX worth it? Is it suitable to just attach a pencil condenser CW4 mic to it to record singing vocal and instruments that way and a MKE 600 shotgun mic to it to record elements and sound effects for game development? Can I record both the XLR and 3.5mm jack at same time in same and different tracks? Can I use it as a high res music player so I don't need to buy another dedicated music device which function just like an audio recorder that can't record high res audio but better at organisation to play music? Any other recorder recommendations?
According to their site "The headphone output allows for live monitoring and checking the lavalier sound quality before recording" Question is does that mean monitoring drops out during recording? If so maybe not so good for nature recording.
@@makatron Based on what I'm hearing yes you can create a wireless hop, or set the output for timecode out. But don't take my word for it. I'm just watching the same video as you and then reading the product page.
@@drew_hewitt so now you can record stereo 32-bit float and send timecode to the camera so can be synced up later. The only missing feature here is a LanC port to be triggered by a remote along the camera.
They will of course charge way, way too much (and the timecode feature that they'll rely on to justify the cost, is super old-skool for active filmmakers who now rely almost exclusively on audio sync in post). Sticking with my pair of Zoom F2's until Rode gets around to 32-bit float internal recording on a GO III product.
I take issue with the sentiment of what you've written, because if you've ever tried synchronising/analysing audio, you'll know it's not perfect, only works once you have already identified two overlapping files, and most importantly doesn't work unless your scratch audio or camera is very close to the second system sound. Finally, the Rode Wireless GO2 already has 32-bit internal recording, so I am not sure what you are talking about. Typically it seems like Deity provides much better 'value' products compared to Rode (i say this as someone with several Rode mics), but this and the Theos seem like high end recorders, so perhaps they'll cost a bit more. Having used my GO2 for a year now, I have almost never used the wireless functionality as I prefer the higher quality and flexibility of floating point. For a large portion of the middle-market (anything from super basic videographer stuff to low-budget feature films) this is an amazing option.
@@TheUlitamateStunt Had to stop reading when you concluded that the GO II has internal 32-bit recording. It doesn't (only upscales/exports in that format clipping-and-all, needlessly). Anyway, the new king since two months ago is the new Tascam.
YES 🙌. Just gotta get that price right and it will take over the wedding industry.
They needed one to shoot this videos:) I’m hearing some RF hits… Loving the NAB coverage. NS is my go-to every year.
thank goodness i was about to buy the Tascams dl10L, these will be worth the wait and the price

Good. And this andrew dude is cool because hes a sound guy. What (absolute top level) mics can be used with this system? Good job Erik and Matt.
It comes out in May. It only does 32bit Mono now and 24bit stereo.
Mono only at 32bit is a big disappointment if they have changed from full stereo support (which is what's said on the video.)
Might have to get this since the Tentacles are NEVER in stock
I wish deity could make this recorder with phantom power and XLR
Like the popular Zoom recorder? Probably not worth competing.
@@Ozpeter which zoom one is this small with 32bit float?
@@nicholasboule5134 The F3 which is this small, plus room for two XLR connections - obviously they couldn't fit in a case this small.

That would be great if the menu screen reciever is placing on the top side
Still not released?
been so anxious for this too :( got 6 TC-1's and I really don't want to go the theos route, too bulky for my needs, PR2 would be great for wedding use
