Wonderful video Paul. I have been there today.Plenty of birds about and the Sparrowhawk came a couple of times.Stayed for about 20 mins the second time.A lovely little set up Ian has down there.I'll certainly will return next year. 👍🏼
Wonderful. You got some great shots there. We have a similar place set up by a conservationist/photographer at Millers Wood in Handcross Sussex. I've not yet managed the sparrowhawks (although I have been lucky enough to photograph them in my garden), but they have a resident kingfisher, as well as the normal woodland birds, plus occasional visitors like crossbills. Wonderful places and we are so lucky that people set up and manage these for us.
Very nice shots Paul. It is funny not seeing you holding the 1DX in your hands. I bet the weight difference is much better for you. Have fun with your new kit!
Great video there, Have been to that hide as well, hope to go back later in the year. 300mm is definately required for the larger birds, but I took my 500mm as well for more 'intimate' close ups of the smaller ones.
Brilliant video footage and shots Paul👌....well timed too as I've been looking at booking a session in Leeds Wildlife Hides. It looks great. I've a gear question for you. Have you tried the R6 (plus EF-R adaptor) with your 500 f4 yet? I've tried 2 copies of the 500 and found the focus preset function didn't work on either! Just wondered if you've experienced anything like this too?
Wow...that was amazing. Photos are stunning...it must be an awesome feeling for something like that sparrowhawk to turn up. Watched the video on my 56" 4k TV for even better details. Keep up the great work...👍
Paul, I’m doing a session in the hide tomorrow and just wondered what you had used to support your camera in the hide as believe there are no plates for gimbal heads. I do have a bean bag which I’m going to take. Thanks Ian

A lot of great footage and stills, Paul. Looks like they have a nice setup there. The reflections make for some spectacular opportunities.
Many thanks. The pool is really good, yes.

Terrific images Paul lovely sparrow hawk great footage keep them coming 👏👏Been looking forward to a reflection pool 👌
I was there a few weeks ago, cracking day out!
Those Sparrowhawk shots are stunning, so beautiful with the background and light
The day we went the Sparrowhawk came but went into the tree to the left of the hide so no photos, so a return visit is on the cards. Great shots.

Completely agree. Those focal lengths are spot on for most people
I presume you can still sit there all day and not get one to pose ! Awesome bird lovely to see thanks for sharing 👍

Thanks so much. It was an amazing experience. Hope you enjoyed the slow motion - first time I tried it on the R6!
Beautiful captures, Paul. (That looks a great hide - bet there aren't any like that in my local area! I shall have to 'Google' to find out!)
Nice video
Cheers!

There is kind of a big foam cushion which you can rest the camera on. But take a Beanbag as well that might help.
@@PaulMiguelPhotography ok thanks Paul will do 👍
Wow, need to book this spot
It's been amazing for Sparrowhawk recently. And very reasonably priced too.
I live in the Cairngorms one visits my garden recently eating a pigeon just caught
The supercilium makes it look scary
👍📷😎
What’s your shutter speed like
Is this now your new camera set-up Paul ? or are you still testing ? 🙂
