Sendai is a great location to explore and easy to get to from Tokyo! Have you been? Let me know!! .. I'll be flying to Japan when this video is published!! Exciting :)
We will be staying for two nights in Sendai next March, and will also splurge, and enjoy a ryokan in Matsushima for 2 nights. I am really looking forward to it. Right now, everything is booked, and I just enjoy watching videos about the places we are going to visit. This is a kind of "foreplay" to our trip to Tohoku ;-).
Sendai is definitely one of my day trips in my upcoming Japan trip since I'm an avid fan of figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu and that's where he's from! I've been watching a lot of your other videos to help plan my trip, so I was kind of shocked to see you pop up at the end of the new video he made for promoting Sendai's tourist attractions 😂 Thanks for the video, I didn't have any observation decks planned for Sendai, so I'll have to add the Aer deck to my itinerary!
@@NinjaMonkeyguy I tried to just link the video, but I wasn't sure if you could still see the comment in case it got hidden, so instead: The video I'm talking about was recently posted on the Discover Sendai TH-cam channel, there's three different uploads with different subtitle languages, but there's a short clip of you at the end of it at around 15:10!
Beef tongue is not high on my list of things to eat but you mentioned the important things when prepared properly it can be not just eatable but very tasty. I may have to give it a try. Although I've never been to sendai it appears to have it's charms and I can see spending a few days there to discover them.
I think it’s a great platform to explore close by locations, as for beef tongue it’s not high on my list of things to eat either but it’s always good to try things that are local at least once
If you find yourself in Sendai Station again, you've gotta try Pensee bakery. There are 4 or 5 bakeries in Sendai Station, but Pensee is by far the best. They do seasonal things, mostly savory but sometimes sweet. I definitely recommend getting a curry doughnut if you go there. They're located one floor below the main floor with the large foyer market, near the west exit. Every time I come to Sendai, I get 3 or 4 things from there, and they are always really good. Oh, and on zunda, I'd go for the milkshake version. There are two shops on the shinkansen level, right before restaurant row. I forget which one is better, but they're pretty similar.
I've been living in Sendai for about 12 years now. You mentioned the Loople bus, I hope you went to Zuihouden (The mausoleum of Date Masamune). It's one of my favorite tourist sites in town.

Sendai, the city that has it all - delicious food, a dazzling light pageant, and now, thanks to my video, even more visitors! I'm glad I could showcase the beauty of Sendai and inspire you to plan a trip. Don't forget to try all the tasty treats and take lots of pictures!
Unlike the ugly mess of Tokyo, after the Pacific War bombings, the city planners in Sendai redesigned the city in a really beautiful way. hmmm ... since you were in Sendai, I would have visited nearby Rairaikyo. um,... also, the Tanabata " streamers " are meant to symbolize the thread used by Princess Orihime. I think that if you are interested in Japan, it may be fun to learn about this legend (^_^)

@@NinjaMonkeyguy Sure. Let me know when you are in town next.
@@NinjaMonkeyguy Also, there is another observation deck at the top of SS30--it is only southern facing though.
My first visit to Sendai was summer of 1989...I went back one other time. It's beautiful there.
It's a great location as a base up north

That story sounds very interesting thanks for sharing
@@NinjaMonkeyguy hmmm,... Tanabata is a basic Japan story ! (^_^)
@@NinjaMonkeyguy ww! (^_^) ... Even though, as usual, it came from China, it's fundamental to Japan now!
My next trip list keeps getting longer.
This is the problem haha
I thought you were having mushy peas 😂
Haha yea looks like that
hmmm,... you are right ... zunda is Sendai mashed soy bean ... (^_^)
