    Cool! Exactly what I was looking for. Question...could this go in a foam dispenser? I use castile and water in a foam dispenser, but wasn’t sure how the aloe would work.

      Hi Mike! We would recommend using this recipe in a 2oz PET bottle instead of a foam dispenser as its likely the Aloe Vera Gel would clog a foam dispenser. 😁

    I love this! Is there a blend I can make for an inhaler for a 9yr old with a cough? I'm pretty sure her cough is from a ragweed allergy. Thank you!

      Hi Cathy!
      Here's a kid-friendly inhaler that calms allergy symptoms:
      7 drops Cedarwood (Juniperus virginiana)
      2 drops Orange (Citrus sinensis)
      A nourishing respiratory blend is a great option to apply in the evening before bed to help soothe a cough. You can apply this to the chest, upper back and feet:

    With oils like those or others in a base like that is it ok to use it on Sensitive skin

    • @aromatherapyoils

      I find that it is very individual and that skin types are so varied that it is most effective to just try it and see how it feels.

    Andrea what are your thoughts on wintergreen essential oil? Thank in advance.

    • @aromatherapyoils
      @aromatherapyoils  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Connie Rodriguez, I don't tend to use wintergreen essential oil casually. This has to do with some safety issues around its chemistry and the potential to interact with many medications that people may be taking.

    What can I use if I don't have black spruce

    • @aromatherapyoils
      @aromatherapyoils  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Blanca, essential oil substitutions always depend on the issue at hand, the intention of the blend, the person’s age, health, preferences… and so many other factors! For this particular blend, you could use Siberian Fir (Abies siberica) in place of Black Spruce.
      One really great way to decide with confidence what oils work as good substitutions is to learn applied essential oil chemistry. We have a free webinar where Aromahead’s founder, Andrea Butje, will walk you through essential oil chemistry concepts that you can apply to any blends you’re making! When you have an in-depth knowledge of essential oils, including their chemical compositions and therapeutic properties, understanding which oils make good substitutions will come more easily to you! Can I use Blue Spruce? Is there a difference re soap

    • @aromatherapyoils
      @aromatherapyoils  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can substitute any of the conifer oils in this recipe with other conifers quite nicely and it will not make a difference in the soap.

    the aloe Vera gel I have is jelly like, not liquid. is there a difference?

    • @shellyhuband3075
      @shellyhuband3075 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I went ahead and made the recipe you shared. I don't have black spruce, so I used 2 drops of wintergreen and 7 drops of cedarwood and 1 sweet marjoram. I have no idea if that is like spruce. But the aloe mix alright. Its thick. But it lathered up nice and I could smell the aromas breaking up some of the congestion.
      My muscles feel a little more relaxed. Nice.
      I thought blends had to be strong to be effective. However I'm learning through you mild does work. For migraines I was using peppermint, neat. So powerful, but my pain was too. Anything diluted would not break the peak of my pain.
      I love essential oils.

      There may be a difference. The aloe I used in this video is from Aromatics.com and they use a natural preservative that keeps the solution more liquid. You can try to use your aloe and see how if comes out.

    for the body wash, could I use cypress oil. I don't have the spruce oil.

    • @charhunt39
      @charhunt39 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't have that either. Cypress or cedarwood is as close as I get. 😞

      You can use cypress or cedarwood. Both would be helpful, Charlotte.

      Yes, 301jules, you can substitute cedarwood (Juniperus virginiana) for the eucalyptus.
