Love Valerion's VisionMaster Pro 2! I spent a of of time with VisionMaster's Pro 2 at my favorite local dealer, Value Electronics who has the VisionMaster Pro 2 set-up next to Hisense's C2-Ultra, and Hisense's C2 Pro all set-up next to each-other in the same room.
So since you spent time with both in person, do you feel that the C2 Ultra & VPro2 are close in comparison? From not just the spec sheet but actual viewer engagement?
Looks great! I backed the max model and can't wait for CES where Valerion said they will have the dynamic iris working. As for the screen I would love a frasnel from them that is acusticaly transparent and motorized self tensioning. Could you put a word in with valerion for a friand? 😅😉
I'm very curious how long it will take other manufacturers to copy the EBL algorithm (if their hardware is capable of running it) ... this is GREAT news for competition where we as end-users can only benefit 🙂
I dont get it with all the valerion reviews. If the EBL is the best way and not sacrificing anything then why there is the option of ON and OFF? With the early optoma released there was this option of dynamic black on or off, but there is a significant brightness overblown highlights and the annoying dimming and brightening scenes if the background is bright or dark
Do not forget this is not a home cinema dedicated projector, for more light room viewing the ebl is not the best so that why this option exists,my opinion,@@lolkenen6249
I'll have to see it for myself. I'd expect to see more black crush with EBL enabled vs disabled. I can't tell if the color differences are due only to contrast. It may need a different calibration setting for each mode due.
@@projectorjunkies4152 I was almost sure because the difference at the picture was like much more better, contrast and color but I have to ask to verify that Thank you Ps : Did you notice any speckles increase from your first review with the white matte screen to this fresnel screen? Laser power 10 is too much on a dark scene. Laser power 0 looks better with ebl high. I think when the max model gets a dynamic iris, and can close the iris down and lower brightness, maybe the max can match the dark capabilities of laser power 0 for dark scenes and bright capabilities of laser power 10 for bright scenes.
I will recived pro2 21 january... can you share your imput setting... i know that my project do not have this beta firmaware... but the other setting?.... can you write on the top of this discussion?
At the end, when you say that there is an “upgrade” coming to enable a 30,000:1 dynamic contrast, are you/Valerion referring to a firmware upgrade? Or a newer model?
Nikos, I'm not sure why you wouldn't watch the Valerion at any setting other than Laser 10 ELB:high. Could it be because the noise increases on the projector. The image quality seems to be the best when Laser and ELB are on maximum setting. You mentioned on you page that you though the Plus 2 may have given the best results. How were the upgrade results for that model or Is this ELB upgrade only for the Pro 2 model? Thanks for this outstanding test.
The camera exposure setting is the same for every scenario. I did this to clearly demonstrate the differences-there was no other way. In reality, even at low laser power, the image is outstanding, with even better blacks! The Plus 2 truly rocks with this new firmware, and a new video will follow soon.

A Fresnel screen is perfect for a normal living room with ambient light, on the other hand, a white screen is a good choice if you have a bat cave setup.
I do not have a black room... so maybe the white is not a good choise... but usually i see the film in the evenig with very low light...so what fresnel brand ?... chinese brand could a good choise?@@projectorjunkies4152
EBL is a dynamic laser dimming feature that can be turned off, like any other feature in the menu. Additionally, there’s the "Dark Detail" setting, which works perfectly, and the "Active Contrast" feature-both of which can also be disabled if desired. The EBL setting itself offers two levels, "Low" and "High." So how could it possibly stay always on? And at what value?
It is clear these points: ebl must on maybe on the low position or high. Depending on the film tipe. The laser power from 0 positon to 6/7 never on the maximum 10... what do you think?
With the new firmware, you can adjust the laser power to any percentage, perfectly tailoring it to your space and your eyes. For example, in my space, I’ve chosen to set EBL to High with the laser power at just 1, achieving an ideal balance for my viewing environment.

@@cratediggah The images looks very similar. I had a slight preference favoring Hisense's C2 Ultra. Leica's Play 1 was the best.

The Hisense C2 Ultra is the same hardware. I hope Hisense releases a firmware update with it.

Is there any problem if we always keep EBL high?
Nope, i have the EBL always on!
I think the software is brilliant but I am noticing a colour shift between ON and OFF which is a little concerning.
Yes, there is a color shifting but the final image is impressive. Do not forget that this is a beta firmware.
Thanks for your hard work. What about the differences with the Plus2 please ? Is the Pro2 black level largely better than it ?
