That game room/theater you have is fire! Thanks for the excellent review. Seems like the Valerion Pro 2 is definitely a game changer and is poised to shake up the projector market. Also, I'm finally glad to see meaningful improvements in DLP technology that can only get better from here. The price to value ratio seems to be quite excellent and I can't wait to receive mine from early backing. I have owned JVC projectors the past 10 years or so but I can't justify the constant price increases for incremental improvements.
I am learning to sacrifice the ultimate black levels for an overall picture that approaches the high-end JVCs and all for a small fraction of the price! I just spoke to the folks at Texas Instrument and their product engineer for DLP and a bit more detail. I'll be uploading that video in the next few days
Hi, nice video. Quick question - how does this perform with the AWOL vision floor rising ALR screen? Do you get the ambient reduction benefits given it’s long throw? I know AWOL advertise their ALR screens as UST only but assume it still works. Thanks
I didn't test it but I would think it would definitely not be optimal as this is a long throw and those are designed to reflect light directly from the bottom up
I backed the MAX which should arrive around May. I am hoping it will meet my expectations, just a bright, sharp and clear image on a 135" AT screen. Thanks for the review.
You will be very happy with it, by then there should be further iterations in firmware updates etc. I'll be seeing it in action at CES this week and will share more in my stories on Instagram and perhaps shorts here
Had to switch from he W5800 to the Valerion Max because our room is to narrow and the throw ratio wouldn't fit the screen I can fit on the wall. Just curious how much I lost in 3D capabilities since that would have been the main reason for purchasing the W5800.
I have a video on the wall setup in my home theater that you can find on my channel from 2021 but will make more time this year to do a more detailed one.
Unfortunately I don't, I was holding out but I will do a shorter update video and a direct comparison with the BenQ w5800 that's already in my theater.
@@gameroomtheater no biggie they did improve EBL a lot and also now you have the option to turn it on using any laser level not just 10. I've already sold my W5800 which shows you what I think of the Pro 2.
Hello!! Happy New Year what type of screen Material you have when testing the Valerion 🤔I missed the kickstart program , got late to the party , I will have to wait until this projector will be available on Big Online Tech stores like AMAZON , meanwhile I got the Xgimi Horizon S Max
1. Vertical Lens Shifting for automatic projection adjustment to the screen which is a further improvement from the Pro 2 2. Dynamic IRIS which essentially will provide deeper blacks The Pro 2 seems to be the best choice since it will provide an update to further enhance the black levels and has 98% of the same specs as the Max
I’ve been a fan of DLP for years. No way I would buy this. That many lumens through the .47” chip is a recipe for dead pixels. Honestly, I don’t know why we’re going back to the .47” again. I wouldn’t buy any DLP that didn’t feature the larger .65”.
You are Welcome Bro. You will very pleased With the C2 - but i recommend you the C2 Pro cause of the Optical Zoom function. Greetings.@@gameroomtheater
What? During the early Kickstarter, it was $1899, plus a lot of discounted and free add ons. People just missed out on huge savings, by not acting early.
Is not sharpest is DLP... It's false "sharpness" but in any case the issue remains the same as others dlp.. low native contrast any weak blacks. 15k contact is just dynamic so nothing spectacular. 4k native is very weak compared to JVC
I think the native contrast is more than sufficient for most, at the fraction of the cost of my JVC. I'm absolutely one of those that will chase diminishing returns 😜. In direct viewing this was Sharper than my native 4k JVC as I said in the video. Others thought that same as well. Seen independently in real world viewing where you aren't pausing a movie to put your nose to the screen to try and see a decernable difference, definitely no difference. I have to keep my choice-supportive bias in check, kept telling myself faked 4k can never be the same as native 4k. DLP has come a long way, I no longer proscribe to that thinking.
Seriously considering this when it hits retail. Sounds like it competes and in some ways surpasses projectors many times the price. Most impressive!
Likewise wasn't expecting what I got as there weren't any reviews out at the time. Pleasantly surprised
Great video, and I just love your space for theater and game room. Just awesome
Appreciate it, I've been working on this for a few years now, it's come a long way
I would submit these spaces are always a work in progress type effort.
Glad to hear it is living up to the sky high expectations !

Backed the pro 2, waiting for mine to be shipped hopefully within this month

No words other than WOW! 😍
I'll likely be getting a JVC NZ500 but the Valerion is the best DLP in its price range. It really is a game changer in the DLP arena.
Oh wow... I have to see when in person.. I'll be at CES all week and going to try and book some time with JVC!
Does it have frame interpolation in 3D?
Not sure but let me test that.

@@gameroomtheater Thanks for the feedback. Looking forward to your thoughts on it at CES.
What about the difference to the Benq W5800?
Working on a direct video comparison soon!

Wow. What a fantastic home layout you have. That truly is a dream home.
Thx, I'm really happy with how it turned out, though it took a lot of effort to get it this way.
Who does your calibrations? Mike?
Just wanted to know if you have any tutorial videos on how you setup your movie posters and how to sync them?
I have a video on the wall setup in my home theater that you can find on my channel from 2021 but will make more time this year to do a more detailed one.
Are those black trays with the red chairs extra wide ? If they are, can you share where to buy from
Nope standard ones from Valencia Theater Seating.. they have a cool faux carbon fiber look!
In order to buy this I would have to go 6 months without food, electricity and public transportation. No cellphone either.
You probably don't have the updated firmware with EBL high?
Unfortunately I don't, I was holding out but I will do a shorter update video and a direct comparison with the BenQ w5800 that's already in my theater.

Happy new year! t's a 110" acoustically transparent screen from EluneVision model AudioWeave 4K NanoEdge Fixed-Frame Screen 1.15 gain
Happy New Year
Happy New Year to you too! 🎊
@ thanks
What advantage will the Max have over the Pro 2 ??..big price difference

great video and killer game room
Thx!
I am waiting for the max
Me too . I really need lens shift to place it in an ideal spot in my theater
Next step, please review the JVC NZ700 🎉
One day I will have you hear to collab. I need someone with the calibration skills that you possess especially with JVC my friend ❤️

I was with Texas Instrument engineers at CES and did an interview on this specific question as well. I will share the video in a couple of weeks
Gret review
The valerion is the same just like a hisense c2 ultra only in another Box/Style !!! Greetings mile
Thx man! Pro 2 with double the native contrast ratio, and also snappy OS running Google TV. I'll have a c2 in soon though, and will see how it does 😁
You are Welcome Bro. You will very pleased With the C2 - but i recommend you the C2 Pro cause of the Optical Zoom function. Greetings.@@gameroomtheater
Bro try to do videos in a budget 4000 usd for a projector no way hahahahaha
Did quite a few earlier in the year, 200 to 700 dollar ones!
$4000 for a Kickstarter Project??? I'll pass, it could be gone by next week. I'll just by a Hisense 100-Inch Mini-LED
