Being an Ex-submariner I can tell you that we feared fires even more than surface ships because the fire takes away our oxygen and in order to put it out we have to allow water into the people tank. Fires can start fairly easily. There is a lot of burnable material including pressurized oil and depth charges can always cause electrical faults which can start fires easily.
I was on sub’s for my time in. We had a very minor electrical fire once. Was detected and put out almost immediately by opening the breaker. It was amazing how much visibility dropped in the sub from a fire that lasted less 30 seconds. I’m glad we never had a serious fire. There’s a reason why fire was the number one drill we ran

huh. Speaking of physics and universal constants, it's good to see that some things never change in this game. Battleships are still largely captained by braindead troglodytes, Carriers don't die unless they are on your team, Submarine captains are too busy eating glue to use the buttons that keep them alive, and a single decent destroyer captain has to carry the whole team anyway.
Except when it's a CA/CL or a BB that has to carry the whole team because the DDs forgot there were radars, SSs and CVs and allowed themselves to be detected in the opening minutes of the game. Then I suppose you would say the DDs were eating glue...

@@nazamroth8427 there was no survival, no disengage possibility or something. When you are lit and bombarded by a CV and shelled by two BBs, you will go down. That´s why it is a team game. When your teammates has vacated your flank without any reasons and you stay alone in a BB there, you die. EZ. And their team almost lost because of that, they were saved by lucky fire set on a submarine AND by Richelieu bad dispersion in the end, otherwise it was a loss.
@@siriusczech He still has 3 options: a) try to time the turn so that they don't get his broadside b) reverse and try to keep himself angled and at some distance c) yolo and get it over with Some of those have a higher chance of success and might be better for the team overall. But I agree it's a bad feeling in a BB when you are the one on the outside of a flank and suddenly everyone abandons it.
Thank you for getting the Standards right! They were the Standard-TYPE American battleships as they encompassed several classes, and shouldn't be called the Standard class. So many people love to call you out when you mess up, but noone says anything when you get something right, so props for that little detail!

16:00 the sub had a fair amolunt of HP, and was probably hoping to wait the fire out. the Indy sent out an airborne attack. Odds are the sub was hit by one bring it down to 0.4 hp, and the guy just didn't have enough time to hit the button after that before the next damage tick.

Side note for the Massachusetts captain at 11:48 Jingles. Granted, I play WoWs Legends, not WoWs on PC. However, there had been multiple times where I have charged a flank, knowing I was going to die, but giving my teammates time to cap a different objective, or focus on a more important enemy. Sometimes suicide charges have a higher meaning😂

There have been replays on Jingles’ channel where someone sacrificed themselves just to win a match (low HP and wasn’t going to get away alive and took down their attackers) or IRL Battle of Monocacy, Battle of Thermopylae, Battle of Bunker Hill, HMS Gloworm’s last stand, Battle off Samar, Battle of the Alamo, or Lachhimam Gurung’s last stand. All of these people (players, and military personnel) never complained that their “team” never helped them. They knew they had to fight as hard as they could (and take down as many enemy) to ensure they side would win. If your idea was to sacrifice yourself to help your team win, then complaining that your team didn’t help you is no longer a valid excuse. That German BB that was in the north didn’t complain that his team mates were not the best, he fought like hell and took down multiple enemies and survived.
Not sure which submarine the Massachusetts had to be worried about? Was it the one which had recently died on the other side of the map to the Prinz Heinrich, or the other one which was visible on the opposite side of the map around E9 while you were talking about it?

Kind of - the cat's state is dependent on the radiological decay of a substance that is blocking the entrance of poison into the box. As radiological decay is a quantum effect it's probablistic and governed by the schrodinger equation - hence what you're actually measuring by discovering whether the cat is alive or dead is the quantum state of the substance - which will collapse on being measured. At all times the cat is alive or dead, you just don't know which until you measure it (by opening the box).

This one demonstrates something few people seem to truly understand, it isn't the kills or the damage done that matter, it is the right damage at the right time that matters. I've had dd games where I only sank 1 ship, with very little damage overall yet my spotting and capping of bases put me high on the board at the end.
Nobody understand shit in this game. That's why I stopped playing. The unicorn games where people actually think and cooperate aren't enough for the other brain dead games.

Good move by the Leningrad, I didn't even considered for the Richelieu's gun bloom to work in the smoke. Something I should be more attentive off.
Not sure what Jingles thought that Mass was gonna do there. Was he supposed to turn broadside in order to run the other way? And then what? Outrun a Rich and a Carrier? If you get in a spot like that, better to just stay nose in, reverse if you can, and do as much damage as you can before you go down.
subs have the limited short cooldown damage control, possible that the U 190 used up all ofbtheir damage control hunting the Fuso and the P. Heinrich, been in that situation when i first tried the submarines.
I mean in addition to the Schrodinger's points situation that we had. We also had a u190 that existed in superposition for a little bit there or at least in a jingles superposition considering that anybody with two working eyes and a mini map knew where he was because he was attacking the Prince Heinrich and was nowhere near the Massachusetts

Disagree with your assessment on Mass. He was pretty much stuck to that gameplay tactic...and had moved into that position feeling he had the support, ship was way too slow to escape and turning with 2 battleships in range would only open up his belt, where everyone would have said great job showing his broadside. Knocking this type of gameplay, will only resolve battleship captains to stay in the background and not push. I would argue the Yudachi screwed up using poor judgement going after a light cruiser, when the Kansas could have easily gotten rid of it... with Mass pushing the mahan with secondaries, the stalin and yudachi could have made short work of the BB's in a concentrated torpedo spread, with Kansas providing support fire..
I feel like you were a bit too hard on the Mass. Had he turned around, he would have given broadside to 2 enemy BBs and had he stopped, he would have been a sitting duck for the CV. He was doomed no matter what.
True, but instead of turning, maybe reverse. You do that long enough maybe you can go unspotted. In the meantime your secondaries will help. If you charge in you die. If you back up you die, but after a longer time and after giving your team mates time to cap and disengage.
If I'd been inattentive enough to find myself in that position, I'd have gone into reverse and tried to stay angled and at a distance for as long as possible, play defensively. But many American players consider that to be "cowardice."
19:40 that is exactly NOT the point of schrödingers cat. the idea of schrödingers cat is, that it is BOTH dead AND alive at the same time, and only the measurement will then pick one of the outcomes. but before you look at it, its BOTH, because thats how quantum physics work.

3:11 Actually Jingles, the Mahan with Concealment expert only has a detection range if 6.7 Kilometers. Axillent's stealth is 6.6 Kilometers. So, the Mahan actually did have concealment expert but his concealment is worse than Axillent's. Something that the Mahan, the Minsk, and the Maass in particular have in common at Tier 7.
The Massachusetts started his push when the rest of his team on that flank were with him, then they fucked off to cap B. Pretty standard fare for BB's that try to support their team, only to have their team decide not to support them. Then, of course, a youtube commentator makes a video mocking them for not having the speed and stealth of a destroyer. Run of the mill when playing a BB. Try to support? Team fucks off. Hang back and use the big guns because the player know the team will fuck off and end up with wargaming punishing the entire class of ship with enhanced destroyer and carrier capabilities. I really would like to know what youtubers and the average WoWS reddit troll think a BB should be doing, aside from never being researched and being replaced in game wholesale by more fantasy destroyers and submarines.

At that point he was committed, true. But maybe he shouldn't have put himself in that position in the first place. Though I admit when I saw him charge into those 2 BBs, I thought he was trying to go for a ram with one of them to give the rest of the team behind him a better chance at defending the cap. Overall things could have probably worked out better for him, if he and his teammates around the cap communicated a little bit. But that's the kind of thing you'd usually only see in Clan Battles and sometimes in Ranked, not Randoms.
When he committed to the, albeit maybe optimistic, push his team outnumbered the enemy so it probably seemed like a good idea. They had the numerical advantage, so he went to track the bbs so his team could clean up. that's why he complained about no help. happened to me a lot before I quit. we'd have more ships on our flank so I push up to tank the damage in the push, only to see that nobody went along.

I think the question about the fires on the sub come from the idea of, if a shell pokes a hole through the hull, how can there be fire when there is a hole letting in water into that compartment?
Aside from the fire possibly being in another part of the boat than where the incoming water is, there could be electrical damage from the flood/water intake causing fire to break out due to electrical systems shorting and setting stuff on fire (at least, for modern subs that's a concern if I recall info from SubBrief, aka JivTurky)

Considering how that sub was hounding the Heinrich there is the possibility that he wasted all of his limited DC parties. One of the most efficient ways of dealing with subs is to space ASW drops to force out their DCs, eventually they just have to burn or flood to death.
so first teleporting submarine that he (no idea why) assume was on A despite minimap show him near C and then talking about this SS not using repair when he had no idea if this SS had any repair party left or if he was already out of it's uses (witch is basically 3/battle) but what do i know...

If I had a criticism of the good player of the Leningrad, it is that his aim needs a little work. He seemed to rarely adjust his aim once he was "close enough" which caused a lot of follow-up shots to miss. He was particularly failing to get his guns on the soft spots of battleships, with his aim connecting a lot of turrets that just shattered his shells. Just a hair's movement of the mouse after two or three salvoes, he'd have done a fair amount more damage. Still, well-played and better than most!
It wasn't a submarine in A. It was the single line torpedo from the Fiji. The only living enemy submarine was spotted in C and they're not fast enough to arrive at A in time to hit the Indianapolis.

To be honest with the Massachusetts - I myself included often forget the Minimap if I focus on a literall 2 v 1 Situation. And his team could have backed him up. You only need 1 ship to capture the middle point and the Heinrich got shit done himself. What the carrier did up there? Reducing flight time. Well... he's quite TOO far at the frontline to be honest but I do that sometimes to but if I notice that the flank is lost I will turn. And in this game I would just go into the corner behind spawn ... too many dd's and even subs.

I must have gotten lucky. The Kansas for me was actually a fun ship. Yeah it was stupidly slow and has a very long reload but whatever I shot at didn't like being on the receiving end. It really made me learn to be patient, observant, and really wait for the best shot to take. For whatever the reason might have been, it worked out fine for me. The Minnesota was just more of the same kind of experience. Strangely though I have not been doing so well in the Vermont. Now I do know I only have a couple matches in the Vermont so maybe I have just been very unlucky in it so far but as it stands, I enjoyed the Kansas and Minnesota more so than the Vermont so far. But my experience seems to be the opposite of everyone else's.
Interesting. I found the Kansas and Minnesota to be playable if a bit of a grind (I play US Standards a lot, so I'm used to being a big slow target 🙄) but the Vermont is fun. Still big and slow, but hits like a frikkin' truck... maybe you just need to give it a little more time. 👍
To be completely fair to the Massachusetts player, they didn't have a lot of great options. If they tried to turn and head east they would have gotten repeatedly citadeled and killed by the California and the Richelieu. The only other real option would be try to turn around, but that still would have involved probably taking at *least* one salvo to their broadside from either of those ships at close range. I suppose they could have just slowed down, but then they'd have been an easier target for the carrier's torpedo bombers. Their real mistake was getting that far forward in the first place without an option to disengage if the team died/ran away. EDIT: Now the Kansas on the other hand definitely chose to put themselves into that situation knowing they had no backup from the start, they had no such excuse.
I don't know what you're talking about with Indy's radar, it is slightly better than Baltimore's, with a slightly better reload (114s vs 120s), with all else the same. Now you you could argue that it is a worse radar are because it is on a worse ship, but in isolation, it has the slight edge. Also the U-190 may have not had any DCPs left, they are limited in the number they have like Soviet BBs and German BCs
Actually they are the exact same radar, you must have the November Foxtrot signal equipped to Indy and not on Balti. Not sure where Jingles is getting it's worse? Seeing as it's 1.5km better than the other T7 radars, and none of them can use their radar from stealth.

@@FltCaptAlan No problem, I honestly don't think I'd even call Indy bad, she's just bad when bottom tier as all T7 Cruisers are. Her DPM isn't that much lower than other T7 Heavies and she has the decent 10km radar. Though I've not played her so I can't say for certain.
@@Stephen__White My only problem with her, is comparing her to the New Orleans, the NO's bow and stern plating are 25mm, which can bounce a fair bit, the Indy only has 16mm, which makes tanking damage against lower caliber BBs a bit harder, and even non IFHE 4" (say found on Warspite's or a French BB's secondaries) guns can pen her ends

Side note for the Massachusetts captain at 11:48 Jingles. Granted, I play WoWs Legends, not WoWs on PC. However, there had been multiple times where I have charged a flank, knowing I was going to die, but giving my teammates time to cap a different objective, or focus on a more important enemy. Sometimes suicide charges have a higher meaning😂

There have been replays on Jingles’ channel where someone sacrificed themselves just to win a match (low HP and wasn’t going to get away alive and took down their attackers) or IRL Battle of Monocacy, Battle of Thermopylae, Battle of Bunker Hill, HMS Gloworm’s last stand, Battle off Samar, Battle of the Alamo, or Lachhimam Gurung’s last stand. All of these people (players, and military personnel) never complained that their “team” never helped them. They knew they had to fight as hard as they could (and take down as many enemy) to ensure they side would win. If your idea was to sacrifice yourself to help your team win, then complaining that your team didn’t help you is no longer a valid excuse.
That German BB that was in the north didn’t complain that his team mates were not the best, he fought like hell and took down multiple enemies and survived.
Not sure which submarine the Massachusetts had to be worried about? Was it the one which had recently died on the other side of the map to the Prinz Heinrich, or the other one which was visible on the opposite side of the map around E9 while you were talking about it?

Well done sir. You actually explained the Schrodinger's cat thought experiment correctly. Most people seem to think the box hiding the cat is why we don't know it's current state. Schrodinger and Einstein's discussion was about the cat literally existing in an unresolved state until it was observed and the probability function collapsed. I salute you Jingles!
Kind of - the cat's state is dependent on the radiological decay of a substance that is blocking the entrance of poison into the box. As radiological decay is a quantum effect it's probablistic and governed by the schrodinger equation - hence what you're actually measuring by discovering whether the cat is alive or dead is the quantum state of the substance - which will collapse on being measured. At all times the cat is alive or dead, you just don't know which until you measure it (by opening the box).
I love how so many people who can't type are trying to mansplain Schrödinger's cat to Jingles, while here you are complimenting him in clear English with proper style and usage.

This one demonstrates something few people seem to truly understand, it isn't the kills or the damage done that matter, it is the right damage at the right time that matters.
I've had dd games where I only sank 1 ship, with very little damage overall yet my spotting and capping of bases put me high on the board at the end.
Nobody understand shit in this game. That's why I stopped playing. The unicorn games where people actually think and cooperate aren't enough for the other brain dead games.

@@Tearnofear Braindead people focus on useless stat PR or damage, while indeed doing the 'right' damage and percentage wise damage wins games (+100% modifier) and gets the XP. Than other braindeads complain spotting is 'useless', not realizing that 1/3rd of the damage done counts to your XP.

Not sure what Jingles thought that Mass was gonna do there. Was he supposed to turn broadside in order to run the other way? And then what? Outrun a Rich and a Carrier? If you get in a spot like that, better to just stay nose in, reverse if you can, and do as much damage as you can before you go down.
subs have the limited short cooldown damage control, possible that the U 190 used up all ofbtheir damage control hunting the Fuso and the P. Heinrich, been in that situation when i first tried the submarines.

Disagree with your assessment on Mass. He was pretty much stuck to that gameplay tactic...and had moved into that position feeling he had the support, ship was way too slow to escape and turning with 2 battleships in range would only open up his belt, where everyone would have said great job showing his broadside. Knocking this type of gameplay, will only resolve battleship captains to stay in the background and not push. I would argue the Yudachi screwed up using poor judgement going after a light cruiser, when the Kansas could have easily gotten rid of it... with Mass pushing the mahan with secondaries, the stalin and yudachi could have made short work of the BB's in a concentrated torpedo spread, with Kansas providing support fire..
I feel like you were a bit too hard on the Mass. Had he turned around, he would have given broadside to 2 enemy BBs and had he stopped, he would have been a sitting duck for the CV. He was doomed no matter what.
True, but instead of turning, maybe reverse. You do that long enough maybe you can go unspotted. In the meantime your secondaries will help. If you charge in you die. If you back up you die, but after a longer time and after giving your team mates time to cap and disengage.
If I'd been inattentive enough to find myself in that position, I'd have gone into reverse and tried to stay angled and at a distance for as long as possible, play defensively. But many American players consider that to be "cowardice."

Schrödinger actually came up with the cat to demonstrate the absurdities that come from the Copenhagen interpretation of the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen paradox and how quantum mechanics in general can be severely misunderstood. Schrödinger's point was that the cat in the box was NOT how quantum physics works, but rather what can happen when people do not understand it.
Not really, the cat is either alive or dead depending on the state of the decaying isotope blocking the entrance of poison into the box. 3:11 Actually Jingles, the Mahan with Concealment expert only has a detection range if 6.7 Kilometers. Axillent's stealth is 6.6 Kilometers. So, the Mahan actually did have concealment expert but his concealment is worse than Axillent's. Something that the Mahan, the Minsk, and the Maass in particular have in common at Tier 7.
The Massachusetts started his push when the rest of his team on that flank were with him, then they fucked off to cap B. Pretty standard fare for BB's that try to support their team, only to have their team decide not to support them. Then, of course, a youtube commentator makes a video mocking them for not having the speed and stealth of a destroyer.
Run of the mill when playing a BB. Try to support? Team fucks off. Hang back and use the big guns because the player know the team will fuck off and end up with wargaming punishing the entire class of ship with enhanced destroyer and carrier capabilities. I really would like to know what youtubers and the average WoWS reddit troll think a BB should be doing, aside from never being researched and being replaced in game wholesale by more fantasy destroyers and submarines.

to be fair to the Massa, there's no way to disengage at that range without giving broadside and getting a paddling so what else could he do at that point?
At that point he was committed, true. But maybe he shouldn't have put himself in that position in the first place. Though I admit when I saw him charge into those 2 BBs, I thought he was trying to go for a ram with one of them to give the rest of the team behind him a better chance at defending the cap. Overall things could have probably worked out better for him, if he and his teammates around the cap communicated a little bit. But that's the kind of thing you'd usually only see in Clan Battles and sometimes in Ranked, not Randoms.
When he committed to the, albeit maybe optimistic, push his team outnumbered the enemy so it probably seemed like a good idea. They had the numerical advantage, so he went to track the bbs so his team could clean up. that's why he complained about no help.

I think the question about the fires on the sub come from the idea of, if a shell pokes a hole through the hull, how can there be fire when there is a hole letting in water into that compartment?
Aside from the fire possibly being in another part of the boat than where the incoming water is, there could be electrical damage from the flood/water intake causing fire to break out due to electrical systems shorting and setting stuff on fire (at least, for modern subs that's a concern if I recall info from SubBrief, aka JivTurky)

Considering how that sub was hounding the Heinrich there is the possibility that he wasted all of his limited DC parties. One of the most efficient ways of dealing with subs is to space ASW drops to force out their DCs, eventually they just have to burn or flood to death.

If I had a criticism of the good player of the Leningrad, it is that his aim needs a little work. He seemed to rarely adjust his aim once he was "close enough" which caused a lot of follow-up shots to miss. He was particularly failing to get his guns on the soft spots of battleships, with his aim connecting a lot of turrets that just shattered his shells. Just a hair's movement of the mouse after two or three salvoes, he'd have done a fair amount more damage. Still, well-played and better than most!

It wasn't a submarine in A. It was the single line torpedo from the Fiji. The only living enemy submarine was spotted in C and they're not fast enough to arrive at A in time to hit the Indianapolis.

To be honest with the Massachusetts - I myself included often forget the Minimap if I focus on a literall 2 v 1 Situation. And his team could have backed him up. You only need 1 ship to capture the middle point and the Heinrich got shit done himself.
What the carrier did up there? Reducing flight time. Well... he's quite TOO far at the frontline to be honest but I do that sometimes to but if I notice that the flank is lost I will turn. And in this game I would just go into the corner behind spawn ... too many dd's and even subs.

AcTuAlly Jingles, the tier 5 premium Gremyashchy also has 8km range on it's torpedoes (though it's rare to see and own).
And it's a Premium which is the point Jingles was making - if you don't go to your wallet, you get suicide torpedoes.

I must have gotten lucky. The Kansas for me was actually a fun ship. Yeah it was stupidly slow and has a very long reload but whatever I shot at didn't like being on the receiving end. It really made me learn to be patient, observant, and really wait for the best shot to take. For whatever the reason might have been, it worked out fine for me. The Minnesota was just more of the same kind of experience. Strangely though I have not been doing so well in the Vermont. Now I do know I only have a couple matches in the Vermont so maybe I have just been very unlucky in it so far but as it stands, I enjoyed the Kansas and Minnesota more so than the Vermont so far. But my experience seems to be the opposite of everyone else's.
Interesting. I found the Kansas and Minnesota to be playable if a bit of a grind (I play US Standards a lot, so I'm used to being a big slow target 🙄) but the Vermont is fun. Still big and slow, but hits like a frikkin' truck... maybe you just need to give it a little more time. 👍
I like Kansas too. Good broadside, "good" AA. A lot of shells seem to arm on it though. I always do pretty good in Kansas.

To be completely fair to the Massachusetts player, they didn't have a lot of great options. If they tried to turn and head east they would have gotten repeatedly citadeled and killed by the California and the Richelieu. The only other real option would be try to turn around, but that still would have involved probably taking at *least* one salvo to their broadside from either of those ships at close range. I suppose they could have just slowed down, but then they'd have been an easier target for the carrier's torpedo bombers. Their real mistake was getting that far forward in the first place without an option to disengage if the team died/ran away.
EDIT: Now the Kansas on the other hand definitely chose to put themselves into that situation knowing they had no backup from the start, they had no such excuse.

The indianapolis has a verry good radar for tier 7... 10km range and adequate duration.
I don't know what you're talking about with Indy's radar, it is slightly better than Baltimore's, with a slightly better reload (114s vs 120s), with all else the same. Now you you could argue that it is a worse radar are because it is on a worse ship, but in isolation, it has the slight edge.
Also the U-190 may have not had any DCPs left, they are limited in the number they have like Soviet BBs and German BCs
Actually they are the exact same radar, you must have the November Foxtrot signal equipped to Indy and not on Balti. Not sure where Jingles is getting it's worse? Seeing as it's 1.5km better than the other T7 radars, and none of them can use their radar from stealth.

@@FltCaptAlan No problem, I honestly don't think I'd even call Indy bad, she's just bad when bottom tier as all T7 Cruisers are. Her DPM isn't that much lower than other T7 Heavies and she has the decent 10km radar. Though I've not played her so I can't say for certain.
@@Stephen__White My only problem with her, is comparing her to the New Orleans, the NO's bow and stern plating are 25mm, which can bounce a fair bit, the Indy only has 16mm, which makes tanking damage against lower caliber BBs a bit harder, and even non IFHE 4" (say found on Warspite's or a French BB's secondaries) guns can pen her ends
