That actually happened in World War II. There is an infamous incidient during the Battle of Bulge where German Volksturm division tried to get the 101st Airborne to surrender despite the former being outnumbered. The General infamously responded with the word NUTS!
HOLY! Well played by ducky shot, the last enemy sub who played his spotting and torps ALMOST perfectly, the BB's who pressed A and D keys and the dude who offered terms.
This is probably the best WoWS game I have ever seen, with two very important things to highlight: - mid tier gameplay = best gameplay, high tier games nowadays are less entertaining than watching ice melting - this game wouldn't have been even remotely close to what it was if CVs were in play
“. . . There are some . . . tier VII cruisers that come with radar, but . . . none of those are present in this battle.” The Atlanta on Ducky’s team: Am stealth. Granted, Ducky doesn’t have to worry about a radar cruiser on his team, but it is in the battle.
“. . . Ducky’s up to five kills . . .” -Jingles, while Ducky proudly displays a Quacken plus one. Thank you, Flambass! Your term for the Kraken Unleashed is so fitting in this context.
In all fairness, the IJN gunboat DD line only starts with the Akizuki. The line splits after Isokaze, but the first 2 tiers share characteristics on both splits.
this was excellent! A good mix of skill, big balls, confidence in your own abbilities and ship, "fortune of the brave" and knowing the game mechanics intimately. I remember meeting Ducky ingame a few times and - credit where its due - he IS a very reliable and attentive DD player. When you can say "fun to play with-challenging to play against" about a player, that is the highest praise anybody will get from me^^ Also displays why it is - atm- more fun to play between T5-7(and 8 depending on your mm), because you can actually single handedly carry there (even with a cv ingame), while 9-10 are so overloaded with broken ships, resulting in utterly unballanced matchmakings (well, actually just T10 to be fair, but since the "causing frustration by intention" +2 uptiering STILL is a thing...).
I was so afraid this was going to be a heartbreak. So glad to see Ducky had time to pull it off. And what a big brain use of the smoke and knowledge of smoke firing penalty game mechanics to bait the Repulse with; I am in awe. Very, very well done!

IDK if both did the damage though. There is a brief window of opportunity sometimes that torpedo shows as "armed" but isn't yet. Wargaming ingenious servers have such features. But yeah, both seem to be armed and he could have survived both I think.
@@nazamroth8427 I play, but not enough to be competent. Also I mostly play BB's so indeed it's outside of my knowledge. I do know however that time to arm has some glitches like that. So I wouldn't be surprised. Would have to re-watch the video and see if it exploded. Even then sometimes explosion due to coming on inert (like saturation or rock) targets doesn't differ from normal explosion. It's hard to tell. It was definitely Jingles moment. If we had replay ourselves it would be easy to tell.
That was the best game I've ever seen. Usually in these videos there's a huge amount of Big Potato Energy on the other team, but for the most part, it was well played against Ducky,. he just adapted and overcame.
Excellent torp dodging and judgement about when to use his guns. Extreme luck when it came to being spotted in the 2nd half. Those red ships kept showing up one at a time and only seconds would pass between his killing salvo for the last one and the next one gaining line of sight coming around the corner. Love playing the Akat. It can do 46.1 kts when undetected with speed boost on.
Holy shit, Jingles!! This was the most fun and exciting game of WOWS I've seen on your channel in a long long time. Loved every minute of it. Well done, Ducky too!
Good to see that the blokes running around with the hammers changing the resonance frequency of the bulkheads aren't asleep at their posts today. That was some excellent ASW work by Ducky.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the Nurnberg. Offering the enemy one last chance to surrender. Its sort of along the lines of A Bridge Too Far, the Paratroopers telling the German envoy that we haven't the proper facilities to take the Germans prisoner
Or the sailor aboard one of the Taffy 3 escort carriers who, seeing Kurita's Center Force inexplicably break off and leave just before they could have wiped out the helpless carriers, cried "Aw, they're getting away!"
I said the same thing when I messaged a link to someone as a decription of the battle. She messaged back saying she was supposed to be cleaning her Apt, and now she was going to play WOW all night and it was my fault.
this battle was one of the better ones i've seen. enemy team played extremely well, our protagonist, by pure skill, managed to win against all odds DESPITE the enemy team playing extremely well, and the chat was just great :)
Yeah but you're a battleship player.... Actually I don't know, but since a BB player would probably think three minutes would be even better.... Lol And I agree, he seemed to be pumping out Torops pretty damned fast to me, though there were a couple times when Jingles was commenting how much Ducky likely wished he was reloaded....
Good person to feature, nice game Ducky. I always love fighting Ducky. Most memorable was Ranked I was in Daring he was in Smaland, my team wants me to chase down the GK but I knew better with Ducky behind me. Destroyed Ducky but he had me low and his last shot set a fire just before my heal was up so we traded and I lost but a great battle.
That was as good a destroyer game as I've seen. The enemy team were not all potatoes, nor the friendly team. Good play on all sides, but Ducky was just that much better. Masterful.
For those wondering, yeah it saves time at the end of the match. :D actually in reality, I was super ticked off at subs from my previous game. So I used karma for what WG wants it to be: a vent.
@@BinkyTheElf1 your kiting delay definitely made it possible. If you don't chunk the Myoko at the end to a manageable level, he hits me and likely does more than 2k damage, meaning I die to the sub torps. I also didn't have to worry about cleaning up the Kirishima.
I noticed your reports at the start but had definitely forgotten about that after watching your performance. I can only imagine how many reports you would have issued the next battle had that last sub been a second quicker with his last torp launch. Ducky_shot played an amazing game, and well-deserves a Jingles vid & lots of credit. Bravo! I was the "friendly Nurnberg" in that battle (Raging_Poodles, NA server). Early on, tried to help Ducky & the 9-10 line flank with supporting fire. When the Northern flank collapsed, I warned folks that our cap was under threat, and there were still enough ships at that point to defend it. By the time I arrived, we were down to leftovers. I took out the BB Ducky_shot had torped, but got wrecked by the remaining invaders of our cap (mean Myoko). Yeah, as a smart aleck I wrote: "OK, surrender now and you'll get fair terms, evil team. Last chance." Might as well sink with a smile.
I just finished reading Neptunes Inferno at your recommendation and I have to say it was absolutely fantastic, and immediately goes into my top 10 of historical novels I have ever read. I will definitely pick up all of James Hornfischer's other novels. If I could make a recommendation to you good sir it would be Caesar, Life of a Colossus by another great historical novelist Adrian Goldsworthy. Thanks again and have a great day.

Well there is an Atlanta on Ducky's team, that is one of the T7 radar cruisers. FYI for those of you who don't know, the other T7s are Atlanta B, the OG Belfast, and the Indianapolis, Also Repulse is classed as a BB, so it gets the BB commander skills, which do not include RPF

When you get up in tiers in torpedo boats you need to learn not to fire all your torpedoes at once. Fire one rack then wait at least 30 seconds before you fire the next one. Yes, you might miss out on a big dumb BB that didn't know it has a rudder but most of the time you'll do far better.

There were 3 torpedoes, only the first had enough distance to arm in order to do damage
