Hello Dave , You have so much trust in the skill of the machine operator , standing so close , Love Your work , please keep them coming , Cheers Dave .....
Very well Dave! Your content always makes the day start with a good snap! Interesting how you're able to work within the desires of the neighbors who can keep a majority of their day intact too. I noticed your voice is noticably clearer on the new camera.
At 26:05 and some other areas I see you using a yellow electric cord with an electric det to set your shock tube train off.. What gauge is that wire and how long is it? Is it solid copper leads? It looks very flexible. Thanks!
Your new camera is certainly going hardout on the red/orange hue of the clean looking new digger! Just wondering if it's TH-cam's codec freaking movement stuttering when you panned around at 12:00.... other than that awesome images on my 4K screen!
Hey thanks for having a 4K screen Pete, I have a confession about the 12:00 pan stutter, that is my issue, I rendered it at a maximum bit rate of 50Mb/sec, should have done it a lot faster, though about running it again at much higher bit rate but as it was, it had to run overnight to compile 28 min of 4K video - and this is an I9 processor machine. Thanks for watching.
8:32 I was watching in slo-mo. It seems that this was a rather small explosion, Is that because of the hardness of rhyodactite or because you dinnit load them holes up proper? Anything new on the weird scene? We are expecting a doozey of a storm here in So-Cal., Saturday, 08/19 through 08/23 Sunday. Some big water mate. If you talk to the ''BIG-GUY'' remember to mention me & mine. Oh, also ask for a healing for me. I'm under the weather, (ill). Thank you, Dave, And great content.
Thank you Dave. That new red drill really zipped through the hardest rock. That new camera is almost like being on site❤ Your blasting made very small pieces of that rock.
Nice work. When you are digging out the cover you go around picking up what looks to be bits of fuse or something. Is that required for some reason or are you just being tidy?
Thanks Bruno, I sometimes wonder if moving up to 4K video is worth the extra effort considering most of the audience just view it on a phone screen. I really appreciate watching other peoples video in 4K so I guess that there are people that will enjoy mine also.
Dave Im watching on an Apple iMac with a kick ass screen and super fidelity and resolution,, it certainly is a distinct improvement, even better when running through a Bose sound system, really appreciate all you postings and especially your hard work with the cameras, producing multiple angles etc. Watching from Taiwan mate and again thanks, I fully understand the time it takes to film, edit and up load. Stay healthy brother. @@demolitiondavedrillandblast
I see you picking something out of the ruble after each shot as the digger does his thing. Is this used shock tube, detonators, etc. I've never noticed you do this before. Very interesting work you do, I enjoy watching.
Nice work Dave - lot to deal with. I'm no geologist but sort of assume that Rhyodacite is also an igneous rock and just harder than the granite - maybe more brittle too once disrupted. Cheers. :)
I was delighted to find a D.D.D video to start my Saturday morning off here in Scotland. I have a question if I may, how do you determine the minimum safe distance from the shot to the operator and spectators? Is there a formula or government guidelines or do you have an intrinsic sense of what is right and safe?
I have a bit of a formula for covered shots and there is a government formula for uncovered shots, an intrinsic sense of what is right and safe certainly does come into it, done this literally thousands of times.
I "dig" your videos, Dave. Does the Australian Seismic Observatory see some of your bigger shots? Also, do these rocks occur in isolated clumps or are they widespread formations in your part of Australia?
That new camera does some nice slomo pictures. I have said it previously, these jobs would be a lot quicker for you if they used an excavator 2 sizes bigger. They always seem to struggle a bit with trying to unlock the fractured rock.
Oh... I hear you Bill, when I looked at this job they had a 16 Tonne machine with a breaker, me thinks, this looks just right... and then they took it away before I came back to blast.
Hi William, Two reasons for no video on this topic, 1/ It's certainly not a common occurrence as modern products and methods are pretty good. 2/ If this should occur, making video is the last thing on my mind at the time! Thanks for watching.
@@demolitiondavedrillandblast I understand that! I had never had it happen, but you do more blasting in a couple of months than I ever did in my lifetime, so I thought I would ask!
The Rhyodacite rock fragmented like a shale, interesting. I looked the rock up and it seems this area was once volcanic. Owners may want to check their insurance policies.
Just got to the bit about 4K 120fps and had to laugh at the thought of how long that would buffer on my rural 0.4 meg broad were I to change the settings from auto to Max. Currently watching in 640x360x30fps.
@@demolitiondavedrillandblast seriously thinking about it Dave. Just waiting for one of the regular special offers to pop up close to the end of my miserable landline contract. Traveling to the nearest city and experiencing fast broadband is a revelation. Do you have any experience of it or do you have a nice fast terrestrial service?
Many people have said the same thing Tom, that is all part of the treatment dished out by big tech on behalf of Globalist NWO, to those that do not gulp down the proscribed narrative. My channel will never really prosper, in fact I can see that there really is a lid on view count, e.g. if I have a video that is doing well with respect to view count an I upload a new video, the previous doing well video immediately sinks so that the daily overall view count remain similar. You could try unsubscribing and then resubscribe and make sure you tick the notification bell.
I'm not sure I'm lovin the video quality. It suffers noticeably when you pan. Not sure if that is sensor, processing or the anti-shake - but whilst it's super clear when still - not so whilst moving. Love the content though - as always.
Hi Andrew, the maximum bit rate was set to 40Mb/s and easy to exceed this when doing a fast pan in 4K with a frame rate of 60/second. I'm working on that, still a lot to learn about working with this camera.
Yes, this is a lot more of an issue when going from 1080 to 4K video, at present I am working with a maximum bit rate of 45Mb/s - which is not a lot when you have scenes with panning. The camera can do 600Mb/s and my video editing software will do at least 100Mb/s (highest I have tested so far) - But TH-cam certainly will not! Working on that one.
