Remind me to always arrive late to Kent C. Dodds talks! Been watching to his talks and following his courses for a few years now and it's almost his signature move to always squat in the beggining. 😆
It's will be not free as soon as you guys will start making money with this. It's always like that. There is pattern like with nextJS... 1. Superb lib/fw/cms/whatever, that will solve your problems... 2. It's free!! 3. We hearing about this on conference! It must be great! 4. It's awesome and we build FREE platform... 5. But It's not free, It's free when you doing some tutorials from YT to learn something :D 6. Everything is getting worse, another versions, new functionalities, but no support for bugs, excluding support from good technologies and pushing users to use sponsored one's. (nextjs -> no styled components -> pushing tailwindCSS). 7. People have enough, creating something similar but free. 8. Another technology kicking in... Remix is this another technology 9. Cycle starts again.
Nah, the stuff before that establishes the need for the stack. The problem it solves and why I'm a good person to trust for the solution. Don't skip it.
I like the idea of sqlite, but I think it's a tradeoff that's not really worth it. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but there are syntax differences between Postgresql and Sqlite, and there are extensions like PostGIS that completely enable other types of queries to be made, not to mention that pg is very widely used in the real world; so in the end, I think the epic stack is favoring simplicity where it shouldn't, no?
I do not think you are thinking like a regular newcomer, the ones more experienced and well-read about stacks could probably skip, but don't assume everybody's on the same level
This javascript abstracted nonsense needs to die seriously. All this newfangled overcomplicated crap that breaks the next upgrade makes no sense and this guy Kent who I'm sure is a nice person but everything he says is so wrong in a sense... lol. Who do these people target and or attract, the advanced beginner?
@thebirdhasbeencharged Could you elaborate on this? Newbie here. Would like to know your thoughts as of why you refer to the topic covered in this video as “abstracted nonsense”. Why do you think what he says is wrong and what would you advise?

Second 😅

There's an important reason I do it and if you come late you'll miss out on that.
