Pete in our game its very difficult to fully train an employee to your own personal standards. I hire self employed gardeners who help me when I get busy but I mostly manage things on my own. Great idea with treats I do those things myself. Top bloke and top video 👊
Agree we’ve always had an amazing guy look after us he’s a very well respected man and company with thousands of clients he looks after myself and all our family members who are self employed
Never fancied taking on staff myself, but if i need a hand i ask a m8, one is a landscaper / builder and I'll give them a hand . Sometimes we get together on a project that requires both our knowledge and skills. I recommend them to customers and he does me. But i don't want the responsibility of employees, I've been in supervisor roles.when employed. Good luck to you with this. I reckon you would be a good boss. Anyway i would like to tell you that i find your attitude towards your job, your hard work on the job and doing this channel just great.ATB 😊👍
Thank you really appreciate the kind words It’s not something I thought about at the start but as I got busier I realised I couldn’t do it on my own so having the help is good for me Thank you for watching and thanks again for the kind words and continued support it means a lot ☺️❤️
I think its the best way, take on a subbie, Sam is a sub to me, she has a few of her own jobs, as do I but a lot of the time she subcontracts for me. luckily I don't have to buy a Starbucks, just giver her a hug and a kiss....just don't do that to your subbies lol.
I have never really wanted to bring sub-contractors, plus you need to be careful with the tax man An apprentice is a great way to get used to having team members. It's really difficult getting good staff and keeping them, bunched in with that, is having enough work for them long term. I went through a few years of bringing staff in, seasonal at first. Training them, it takes time and then they leave (for one reason or another) Do that 2 or 3 times and it wears you down. A younger member of staff is good, as they have lower expectations, and they cost less. Yes they do less work and take more training but it can be very rewarding and they grow with your business.
That’s a really good shout Can I just say massive thanks for watching it means a lot when massive TH-camrs I look up to watch some of my vids honestly thank you so much and really appreciate the tips My mate ollie runs a lawn care company and he’s a massive fan of yours we’re both subscribed to your channel 🙌🏼
@@THETATTOOGARDENER83 I started my channel to network with other gardeners and still do.... Though these days most of the stuff I watch is about how to make and improve videos with less time spent chatting to other gardeners.
@Premier_lawns_official I love chatting with people in the comments section is great to give and take advice from people who are more experienced than me I love the social aspect of TH-cam it means so much I’m going to saltex for the first time ever this year and hopeful to meet some other fellow gardeners and TH-camrs Thank you once again and keep up the great content 💚🙌🏼

Should be illegal to have kids as subcontractors. Real scummy practice
Tbh young lads or older people you can still have unreliable subcontractors but you won’t know what they’re like until you’ve given them a chance
The Tattoo Gardener goes on Tour 🚐
It’s going to be fun doing a job down by the sea and we’ll outside my area really can’t wait for this one
