Those are my go to power BFS lures. From my personal experience they work in all conditions! Just last week my friend just got one fish where as I got 7+. Both were using a spinnerbait, him the regular 2 willow blades and myself booyah micro pond magic. BFS really shines. The only problem I have with BFS is I never got anything over 2lb ever! And most of the fish are dinks
Finesse always catches more indeed! It takes a while for u to land a big one tho for sure, but I have gotten some 5 lb bass before. Maybe once a season lol
Hehe this is a deeper heavier spool. I put on 300 ft of 1 gou line and it just barely hit the first little ring on the spool. This gotta be a versatile reel
Yeah it's super annoying. Daiwa and Shimano make more reels than Apple makes iPhones. Confusing, stupid and they are all the same with a couple tiny exceptions. I got so annoyed with those two companies because of that I now buy KastKing. One reel a year or an update every year is how it should be done!
Kastking also make a ton of similar reels, especially their lower end. same reel every year. change color, shape, but internals the same. lately I am seeing some new stuff at least. so we shall see how long that last or if they decide to rinse and repeat like usual.
I was casting my Kestrel on a 6' Zephyr UL using a 1/8 oz bredy underspin with a 3-in keitec and 8 lb 13X Finesse and it would spool the reel with zero brakes and no birds nest. I found setting the brakes at 3 to be perfect.
Oh that's very interesting. I am curious exactly how much line you have in that spool. I am curious because we are using the same line and I can't get a simple 1/8th Oz jig and 3 inch Swimbait to spool myself on this rod here. I have 135 ft. I casted maybe 90 ft max. Stock bearings 0 brakes
@@WorldsOkayestFisherman so you have more line than me. Very interesting... I assume your underspin might be heavier than 1/8th. Many of the bass jig folks weigh the amount of lead only. Some include the hook, but not the other hardware like the blades and swivel. I be curious if u can weigh the jig for science :)
You definitely wanna do so. I feel that it's aleady too heavy for your rod and u might be prematurely damaging an UL rod. If u plan on throwing stuff like that, perhaps a L or ML rod be better. Especially if the hooks are thick
Jimmy you just said something that made me think why I’m having trouble casting my BFS setup. I’m used to casting 1/2oz lures and when I put my BFS setup in my hands possibly I may be subconsciously casting like I’m using my Med/Heavy rod.
What knot are you using for the braid to leader , the one time I could see it , it looked like a good size but I couldn't see it catching in the eyelets .
Thx man. While creating content, I am constantly learning as well. And as I learn, I share my success and failures with others as I feel that this is how we grow the sport as well as innovate 🙌
Lol thx! I am not in any sort of contract thing with them at the moment. Kinda like hey u wanna do something for me? Here's all the things except the rod! 😂 But I have to say.. I am gonna have to refuse some lines going forward. And this is one of the reasons why I left in the first place. I get to now refuse a product that I don't believe it should be sold as a finesse line and I can't get in trouble! 🙌
sup jimmy, great video bro, is that reel as small as it looks? lol I am still getting used to baitcaster, feel like idiot but it's lot of nerve damage to deal with, bite is coming on strong, in RI friends been killing it, brother took me to our club pond Sunday, he uses lot of bfs and ultralight tackle, we did great from bank, he cought PB 6lbs 10oz on ultralight setup 4lb test with 1/8oz small strike king spinner bait it did bend hook. I'm still 3oz ahead😂. but we all got covid after. love multi species, unfortunately we only have a few. glad to see the bite hot down your way👊👍. ty tc
It sure is small. Probably the smallest out there and it's certainly lightest. Finesse fishing is the best. U don't have to go light as ur friend or some of the things I throw. 3 Oz is definitely heavy! Now if it's a big bait.. Sure.. I know ton of folks throw big baits for big fish! But I am gonna showcase some smedium size stuff 😂 happy fall fishing
@@rawrfishing lol, I meant my PB is 3oz bigger, mine 6lbs 13oz, his new PB is 6lbs 10oz, other than salt water which don't do anymore, my biggest swimbaits is 1oz, Dan is everything ultralight, was amazed cought it on 4lb test, rod was almost a circle at shore, was amazed🎣👍
It really depends again lol. But that's a huge range. but let me set the stage so it's easier. I'll do 10-20 lbs for open water. but 20-30 if it's in cover. Obviously heavier line for heavier lures!

Back to back videos 👍. Another new Alphas. I've lost track of how many BFS reels Daiwa has out and the subtle differences between them.

@@rawrfishing I spooled it until the line was almost to the edge of the spool then added a 6 ft leader of fluoro

Oh yeah! The heavier bc setups will allow ppl to launch lures far if they give it a power cast... But for BFS... U get a power birds nest haha
Nice! Back with KK and got a nice reel 😬
Hehe, thx! Gotta portray it stock for a few more times before I can swap things around. Fun stuff. Let's see what else they are willing to send me

It's the FG knot. It looks big and long, but it's thin :)
@@rawrfishing Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions , more TH-camrs could learn a thing or two fron you

Congratulations on "kinda" being a KastKing rep again! No one is better in my opinion, you're the BFS king!

U bet man
Been having that happen with my teimco curepop spins on the new dexterity. They'll pull a littpe drag and just pop off
Dang... What's the rod rating on that?
@@rawrfishing like actual specs? Or what I rate?
Yeah on the dexterity. I think I wanna try spinnerbait again but on a ML rod

It's an amazing rod indeed

Price was 229 week ago , now through all the hype I see price of 333. Kast king can keep their finnn reel.
Wait.. Where u see that at?
Not on their website, just checked.
And that’s why I’d rather have a heavier rod than a lighter.
Oh for sure. But it also depends on the lures you throw. This rod is new to me and I was exploring its capabilities.
@@rawrfishing yessir. Nice. Also what lb braid do you normally throw for 5 grams and up to 14 grams or so?
