    We had our meeting with the Electric company, and the engineers indicated what we needed.We had to pick up a 400 Amp meter base from the local power company. They indicated a certain design for a rack system to mount the meter base, so I had to get 2" rigid conduit and some 12 gauge struts to mount the meter and disconnects.
    We cut the struts to 5' lengths and attached them to the rigid conduit, used a one man auger to drill 2 post holes, and placed the rack in its final location. Attaching the meter base was simple afterwards.

    I really like the music and YOUR SKILLZ in this episode. But I think you should add a 30 second segment at the end of each episode where Bridget explains the episode in her own words. This would be GOLD.

      That's a GREAT idea. And then I should act it out. And do like a dub in her voice.

    Looks like Columbia, our homestead is in Culleoka where we’re building a Barndominium, I subscribed.

      Columbia is correct. We’ll outside of Columbia technically. Glad to have like-minded homesteaders in the area!

    Looks like a great job. 👍. I’m looking everywhere for a 400 amp single phase meter base. No one to be found anywhere. It’s crazy.
    Good luck with your build

      Fortunately my local power company had one in stock. Good luck on your search!

      @@DuckRiverHomestead thanks. A Siemens Rep told me they had no idea when they were gonna see any. Power Company around here hasn’t seen a 400 1 phase meter base since last summer. Basically if you have one in use right now. You better hope it doesn’t fail. There are no replacements.

    As electrician I see great job, but just wondering why 400A, that power can drive 3 houses

    • @DuckRiverHomestead
      @DuckRiverHomestead  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed. This will have two 200 Amp breakers attached. One will go to the mobile home we're having installed next month, the other will be going to the house I'm building starting in the summer.

      It's sort of like adult legos and the engineers literally told me to go down the street to see how my neighbors built theirs.

    • @DuckRiverHomestead

      I used 3/8-16 1" galvanized bolts and the strut nuts along with galvanized washers
