It’s lonely living in a world where very few people around you feel this way about the realities of being a woman, dealing with men and the systems put in place that have led us to the position we’re in. it’s empowering to hear others with huge platforms confidently express their opinions and not worry about whose feelings it hurts. I feel trapped all the time wanting to express my disdain but not feeling backed by anyone, including the women around me, makes breaking out of the shell I’ve been conditioned to be in since the day I was born feel even harder. Thank you guys for helping me through this journey of building strength
My grandfather died at a young age. Everyone was like ‘your grandmother lives him so much she never dated again’ I have suspicion she felt finally free and that’s why she never dated again.

My tactic that's worked since I was a teenager that for some reason is to just say "good afternoon/morning." No matter what heinous thing they've said to me. Usually they respond in kind on default and then I just ask how they're doing, and tell them to have a nice day. I don't know why but they instantly flatten.

The only reason there aren't more female firefighters, cops and mechanics is because men harass and do everything they can to make women who deign to participate miserable. I know I'm preaching to the choir, just proud of my aunt and love mentioning it in response to those comments. Love the show, bought Kyle's book too!
