But, very few manufacturers will automatically do this, since it involves increased costs - which is super important in a market like India. It is the job of all people to come together and make the government introduce stringent rules and implement them transparently

Great review...comprehensive and simply explained. True, a value for money car. I own a GTline 7dct, apart from serious clutch failures ( twice) and stiff ride, a beautiful car.
From what we understand and after testing many cars with DCT from the Hyundai/Kia lineup, clutch wear and failure can be avoided by not being in gear during stops, however brief they may be. Have you adopted this style? Or the clutch wears out regardless?

@@CarWale the clutch wears our regardless...first at around 15k the odd gears/clutch failed and after so called repairs at around 20k the even gears/clutch failed ( including reverse, as it's even based clutch )... The jerking was evident from around 5k itself
Unfortunately the term SUV is too loosely used nowadays. We would love to stick to our guns and call a crossover a crossover, but we would lose out on TH-cam/Google search. Sometimes you have to play the majority game

Hi. Two very different cars - Seltos is the bigger, better equipped car. So more space, more equipment, and a more premium looking an feeling interior. The Taigun has a better 1.5 engine in our book. It is also dynamically the better car. To sum up - if you want a better value proposition - the Seltos. If you like driving and want a better driving car - the VW.
Hi, i am confused in Gtx+ and Xline variant i want to know about xline color since it is a dark grey matt color looks great and premium but i am worried about maintaince of matt color. Is it good to buy matt color how it will work in long terms usuage and how to maintain it like washing or precautions required for it. Or should i opt for gtx+ variants which has glossy finish.
Matte paints are a growing trend the world over. I don't think these are difficult to maintain. It might need a different kind of care, but it's not a big enough reason not to buy a matte. Go for it, it looks really nice on the Seltos.
I am planning to buy SUV soon. Please suggest if IMT is reliable. Becuase earlier Creta also launched, and they stopped IMT. I am worried if same happened with Kia Saltos then it's resell value will be less? Also bit confused between Elevate VX CVT or Kia Seltos HTK Plus IMT
There are. no reliability concerns with the Hyundai/Kia iMT. If it makes sense for you, please go ahead and get it without any hesitation As for the comparison, please let us know your preferences - it will help us recommend the bettwe car for you

My observations about the car gives a mileage of 6-7 in city like Delhi, back seat under thigh support is poor for a 5’8, 78 kg guy, built quality is ok and outside noises can be heard cabin insulation isn’t that great! Rest it’s a perfect fun car! Do you agree, also Seltos or elevate what’s your pick which car has more width in the backseat
I am not sure about the fuel efficiency but because I had a 1.4 turbo carens automatic in Mumbai for six months and it wphould return over 10kmpl all the time. But, yes I agree threw seat thgh support needs to be better and the older seltos cabin wasn't as well insulated. As for between the this and the elevate, we will be driving the elevate next week, so we will have a more definitive answer for you then.
Only if you want the conventional gear shifting experience, pick the one. Otherwise, the DCT is nicer to live with and it is more convenient. I also prefer the driving experience of the DCT over the iMT.

Seltos htx NA petrol or diesel IMT yearly running 15-20k mostly running on highways and rural roads ownership period could be 7-10 years In my area petrol ₹109 and diesel ₹94 (Rajasthan)
We would recommend sticking with the petrol as you will incur higher maintenance costs with the diesel and you also have to refill the diesel exhaust fluid - which does not have a fixed interval unlike engine oil/coolant etc.
Hi , am getting good benefit of 1.5 lacs on pre facelift seltos Htk+ diesel imt. Confused between this pre facelift vs new seltos (no offer) vs Kushaq 1.5 ambition (similar price). I hv 50% city ride and in test drive i found the imt to my liking for city comfort and manual feel of highway with mileage. Pls suggest if diesel is recommended to buy in 2023 considering strict norms , 1000 km monthly run. Also any confirmation on build quality difference of face lift seltos and 2023 bs6 phase 2 prefacelift seltos manufacturered in May.
For 1000km a mo the, diesel might not make a lot of sense. But, no there's nothing to worry about in terms of buying a diesel vehicle. As for the changes between the pre and post facelift Seltos, the other has a different suspension setup and slightly reinforced shell.

The iMT is the most reliable out of these because of its simplicity. Though the other two will serve you well if you follow the manufacturer's guidelines. The apprehensions towards DCT is because of many people damaging them by not slotting the transmission to neutral at traffic lights / jams.

There is a mistake in the design of the water pipe of the car air conditioner. The water does not come out directly from the car. It drips on one of the iron pipes in the car. And you know that over time, the iron begins to corrode.
@@CarWale Excuse me, I did not tell you about a car. I meant the new Grand Vitara. When you open the hood of a car, you will see air conditioner water falling on one of the pipes. I am not an expert in cars.
You can't judge a car from one incident. That was a freak accident which we do not know how any other car (even one with a 5 star crash rating) would have handled
Safety kya....they have been known to provide inferior sheet metal for Indian market. Even in US they do not have exemplary safety record as compared to competition.

Do another search for the nation with highest fatalities per 1000 accidents where we are toppers. I have no intention of promoting any brand. Just want to call out the dubious safety standards. The fact is that nothing can outdo riding prowess of a Renault Duster. It literally smothers all the imperfection of roads. Too bad that Renault is not bothered about bringing the new generation of Duster in India.
The French, it seems, have that magical touch when it comes to designing cars with good ride quality and comfort. Even the Citroen C3 Aircross offers great ride comfort
Kushaq 1.5 Turbo petrol is the more enjoyable of the two to drive. And if space and features aren't a priority for you, again the Kushaq should be fine. But, the Seltos is way more bang for your buck than the Kushaq, no matter how you cut it.
If the question is about crash safety, we cannot comment on it as we do not test for it ourselves. The Seltos does have a long list of safety features which can prevent accidents and other passive and active features which will keep passengers safe in the event of an accident.
That's how Kia wants to differentiate the X Line from the rest of the lineup. We are sure that if there are enough buyers who want the combination you are looking for, the company will introduce those features later

The car's still a tin can. Indian Seltos is still built on SP2i platform and not SP2 platform which is meant for South Korea, US and other developed markets. Ill never buy a car that compromises with our safety for even 24 lakhs. A big NO to Kia tin cans.

Go for the seltos. Better features and road presence
Choose Ivtec with cvt for reliability and better power when compared to seltos ivt

How's the steering calibration
There's good returnability. The rack is fairly quick. And its doesn't feel too heavy or too light to operate. It's got good heft and accuracy.
Biggest negative is 3 star ncap rating....and still I have image of seltos divided in two parts in a road accident...

Do another search for the nation with highest fatalities per 1000 accidents where we are toppers. I have no intention of promoting any brand. Just want to call out the dubious safety standards. Let the manufacturer's dish out safe cars that can actually save lives...then we can debate the best amongst them.
The fact is that nothing can outdo riding prowess of a Renault Duster. It literally smothers all the imperfection of roads. Too bad that Renault is not bothered about bringing the new generation of Duster in India.
The French, it seems, have that magical touch when it comes to designing cars with good ride quality and comfort. Even the Citroen C3 Aircross offers great ride comfort

Your pick between New Kia Seltos 2023 and Skoda Kushaq?
Kushaq 1.5 Turbo petrol is the more enjoyable of the two to drive. And if space and features aren't a priority for you, again the Kushaq should be fine. But, the Seltos is way more bang for your buck than the Kushaq, no matter how you cut it.

If the question is about crash safety, we cannot comment on it as we do not test for it ourselves. The Seltos does have a long list of safety features which can prevent accidents and other passive and active features which will keep passengers safe in the event of an accident.

The Diesel iMT will be more economical as well as more comforting (lower NVH, better cruising ability)
The car's still a tin can. Indian Seltos is still built on SP2i platform and not SP2 platform which is meant for South Korea, US and other developed markets. Ill never buy a car that compromises with our safety for even 24 lakhs. A big NO to Kia tin cans.
