Thank you for posting this and for the app recommendation. I’ve noticed that tuning the setar in Bb (as you have done here) and tuning it in C are both quite common. Is there a convention as to when you do one versus the other? Like do I need to tune it to C to easily play in mahur, or can I play mahur with Bb as the tonic? Thank you!
Yes both of them are common, but it’s better to tune the way I have told you in the video, cause in this case you lower the pressure on the surface of the Setar.It also sounds better this way and will remain healthier. You can play Mahur with the Bb that I have told you in this video.
