- Born in 1985, Tehran, Shahabeddin Azinmehr has a Bachelor’s degree in Restoration of Historical Monuments and a Master’s in Persian Music Performance. He entered the realm of music through singing, and later began learning to play the tar and setar as well. Mohammad Musavi, Dariush Talai, Mas’ud Sho’ari, Behruz Hemmati and Reza Parvizzade were some of the masters he studied under.
He has performed in several concerts and albums as an accompanying instrumentalist. His first individual album, Showq-e Mastur, is a setar solo performance. Since 2020 he has joined the Belgian band Refa.

The Solo Challenges:
Muziekpublique asks musicians for one of the greatest artistic challenges: playing solo with nothing to fall back on but yourself, your ideas and your instrument and / or voice. It is confronting and challenging: “Can I convince the audience all by myself”. It forces you to vary, to hold a tension arc. It is a way where your instrument or voice comes into its own. Moreover, you can make unexpected decisions, you do not have to take the other into account… And the silence suddenly becomes an important creative element. - เพลง
Oh, this beautiful music brings back memories of my travels around Iran. Persian music almost puts me in a trance. Shahab, you’re a wonderful setar player. I hope to have the occasion to hear you play and sing in person someday. You’re a true “artist.”;

درود جناب آقای آذین مهر.با سپاس بی پایان از هنرمندیشما ونوازش ستارتان. میخواهم خواهش کنم ازین فرصت ها بهره بیشتری ببرید شما آهنگی از ساخته های خودتان را به زیبایی نواختید ومن بسیار لذت بردم ولی برای شنونده خارجی، شماآهنگی ایرانی نواختید(آنها به تفاوت های ظریف که ما با آن آشناییم ، آشنا نیستند) وشما را نمایندموسیقی ایران میشناسند بدید من اینجا بایست تیکه های کوچکی از ترانه های قدیمی را با انگیزه گوشنوازی شنونده خارجی برمیگزیدید و اینگونه آن تیکه ها شما را تداعی میکردند وکشش آنها بسوی شما افزون میشد.در جاییکه شما آوازی را با گونه ای عرفانی و اندیشمندانه با کمی رنگ نوستالژیک ارایه دادید .امیدوارم مایه دلخوری شما نشده باشم (بدید من ما باید نخست ایران را پاسداریم .سپس خودمان را چرا که قطره ای در دریا دریاست ولی جدا از دریا پس از اندی هیچ). تندرست و شادکام وپیروز باشید
