      @@kipp1231 Ex-players who have managed or played on the same pitch as these players say that Rooney and Gazza were the most naturally gifted, along with Scholes and Hoddle. You're overrating Beardsley, he was probably very good, but a Joe Cole/Steve McManaman level.

      @@meanon4408 wrong I watched them both for Newcastle and little Pedro was way better. Any Newcastle fan of a certain vintage would laugh at you for even contemplating that. Beardo scored over 250 goals and had almost the same number of assists even Lineker says he's the best player he's ever played with and this is a bloke that played for barca. Overrating him my arse!!!

    Beardsley seems to be overlooked too often when it comes to lists of great English players these videos are a testament to his brilliance to think we had him Barnes Robson hod dle such a gifted group we should have won the world cup

    One hell of a Player. True gent aswell!
    I saw Newcastle when they came to Ipswich in 1995. I was 12 and ill never forget throwing the ball back to Peter from the stands. We were maybe 12 rows back but he still looked over to me and said 'Thank you very much.'

    Peter Beardsley brought joy to football fans wherever he played but nowhere more so than at St James' park. He's my favourite of them all and I'm proud to be a Geordie because of players like Beardsley, Gazza, Waddle, Keegan and Shearer. God, just listen to the way he's talking at the end about playing for Newcastle, about how lucky he is to play for the club. Please God, send us another Beardsley soon!

      My daughter is a Newcastle fan and watches all the old footage and always asks me questions as I had a season ticket during Beardsley's second spell at Newcastle. She once asked if Beardsley was right or left-footed?.....I simply answered "yes"

    I was lucky enough to be going to Newcastle matches regularly over Beardsley's two spells playing for the club and he was a joy to behold, as a lot of people have already said he didn't get anywhere near the credit he deserved. Nice compilation, bought back some great memories, I'd kill the have a player half as good as him at the club now!

    People were always banging on about John Barnes in those days. He wasn't a patch on the hunchback that was Peter Beardsley. The man would attack any1 and they always backed off him.

    Best player I've ever seen at Brunton Park playing for CUFC, he even eclipsed Stanley Bowles, this goals clip brought back so many memories and reminded me just what a genius he was.

    I remember as an Australian living with a house of Football fans, I needed to pick a team It was the earliy 90's , I saw the scrappy style of Newcastle , they were 14th on the ladder, and I liked their style, they never made a premiership, but gee they made some great signing in those years, Beardsley is a stand out, but many a great signing.

    Fantastic job on the video mate, a real great player. I'm 21 so missed all his playing career but me dad's always said how good he was. His goals are never really shown but if he was playing in the sky era he wouldn't be so unheralded i don't think. Unreal!

    Most gifted English player ever, if he’d have played for Real Madrid or Barca the fans would have adored him, his first touch was magical his vision and awareness were as good as any player in Europe at the time, the kind of player that didn’t need to train except for stamina , everything else about him was naturally there a genius , forget George Best Beardsley was better....

    One of my favourite videos. The fact that Beardo with his skinny scratball frame can possess such poise, power and precision is wonderful. Football at its finest. The goals man, the decision making where it counts. Saw him live and was blown away. Half of these goals would be most strikers 'best of my career'. Champion.

    People use the word legend so often, but theres not a more fitting word to describe Peter Beardsley, it was a pleasure to watch him play during my childhood. He was heroic in any shirt, but when he played for England it was magic, devastating to defenders, he must have been frightening to play against. A true role model to youngster, not like some of the drunked arseholes these days, a gentleman on & off the pitch. Probably the best tyneside ever produced....LEGEND! G.carr - Sunderland fan.

    Peter used to come out to see us train and play on the Vancouver Whitecap reserves, in the early 80's, before he went back to play in England. Meeting him and watching him play, he was always very humble and confident. A real gentlemen if there ever was one. I had no idea that he was going to become a star player in and for England. But thinking back, remembering seeing him train and play. How hard he worked to become the player he did. It is not much of a surprise to me now.

    Beardsley waddle and gazza were on fire at Newcastle .as a Boro fan I went to Newcastle to watch them against Preston in FA cup boro game called off...they left all three on bench .think Goddard scored.

    one of our best, what a magnificent player. I met Peter Beardsley (briefly) when he was playing for Fulham (I'm a Gills fan, that game is remembered from a quite remarkable, though not positive reason) but nice bloke, he was way past the apex of his career and his free kick nearly twatted me in the face - I found out I had pretty fast reactions lmao We just won't see players like this any more, Football died around 2005 IMO.

    Peter Beardsley was a far better player than Wayne Rooney ever was, He made Andy Cole and Gary Lineaker They would be better off giving Peter a call up to honour him, anyone know what's happened at Newcastle and the ridiculous accusations about him ? a travesty he is a gentleman and was a rare talent.

    Don't blame him at all for leaving after the 86 world cup, showed he was up there with the best.
