Underrated everywhere he went apart from newcastle where they knew he was better than both gazza and waddle performed at two world cups and came home to Newcastle with even more to offer in a midfield role.proper legend peter "ceefax" Beardsley.
Both him and Barnes inspired my football as a young teenager as I learned their moves, never knowing who to imitate when on the pitch because they were both as good as each other IMO. Their combination moves were just magic, with Aldridge always on the end of them. When he left in 1991, to say I was gutted is an understatement and cemented my hatred for Souness forever. When yuo look back, selling him was the beginning of Liverpool's 30 year downfall.
Beardo was a great player but never really hit his absolute peak at Liverpool IMO. It shows how good he was that he could be less than his best yet still be a great player for the club. This is in no way trying to play down what he did in a Liverpool shirt but i just feel he could be even better than he was.
Graham Souness was a great player but a garbage manager who should have never sold Peter Beardsley to Everton. Peter was in his prime and LFC could have won more championships. Thanks to Souness mismanagement, it went down hill since then. It started with Graham Souness.
Beardo and Stevie Mac came to Sounness and asked to be sold. Souness regarded that request as insubordination, and dealt them away as fast as he could.
This is a poorly made video. We hear from none of his team mates, but we hear from a comedian who makes fun of him (although praise as well). But they should have interviewed the team mates who knew first hand what a world class player Beardsley was. One of the very best who played for Liverpool.
Beardsley was a 'special' man
Head and shoulders above gazza
"Quite why we sold him to Everton..." Of all of Souness' mistakes, of which there were a few, this was the worst!
shamelessly spurned by lfc
One of the worst decisions in Liverpool history
Agreed!

Why was his nickname Ceefax?
Beardsley should have finished his career at anfield
Nothing Gazza could do that Beardsley couldn't - fantastically gifted player and underrated. Why in God's name did Souness sell him to Everton? 🙈
Best Newcastle player ever.
Agreed
He's a Liverpool legend only not Newcastle 👍
Many Newcastle fans myself included feel he was our most talented player of all time
One of my fav players at the time boss player..
Should’ve stayed at Liverpool for much longer. Wonderful player.
Beardsley was just as good as messi. He played on ploughed fields while messi plays
on bowling greens.
totally agree there mate

Without a shadow of doubt, he was World Class !.

Beardsley was sold 4 seasons earlier
Should he not be top ten at least??
Yeah but scousers don’t like the fact that their best player was a Geordie.
@@georgemorley1029He wasn't our best player. Why are geordies so insecure
