I would’ve never thought of that, “if you let me mail you a check I’ll go up to 42”, like Jesus he’s a good negotiator, i honestly would’ve walked from that deal props to him
How do people actually make money doing this? Seems like everyone knows what it's all worth anyway and no one is fooling anyone. Like how much of a good deal can you even get?
Edwin - thanks for the comment. This is something I've worked on for a while, so I appreciate you commenting about this and watching. It really does mean a lot. Have a great day!
Love the content. I honestly have learned a lot about negotiating by watching these videos. Worst part is that it seems that the big card shows are not in L.A. which doesn't make sense because the card market out here is insane.
Where does all this money come from? really curious in transparency. Is your card business truly making that much profit after all your operating costs??
@@cardcollector2 awesome I’d like to stop by your shop sometime on way to my in laws in Lancaster area. I heard you have some Votto cards and I am a super collector
Ryan, Always love the videos, especially the different spending challenges. I have a general question. I have discovered a localish card shop in a mall. They are a sports memorabilia shop and have tons of single's boxes from sports to TCG's. While I was looking through some boxes, there is a lot of stuff that is marked with a price and some that are not. Lots of $1-5 stuff. I guess my question would be, is it rude to ask the shop what kind of deals they could make on bulk purchase or should I only be expecting to pay sticker price(at least for what is stickered). I've only been to card shows as there isn't really any local card shops so didn't know if asking for deals should be different when going into a physical store.
talk about not aging well... Irresponsible and not truthful about his actual financial situation. These type of content creators and titles are what drive people to follow a fake method to becoming successful in a volatile collection and reselling gimmick. He claims to do it to get kids involved in the hobby but in turn he is creating a false persona and has never owned up to his financial loses and backing from others. Not a cool move, not a trustworthy person. Pure scam artist paid for by his mom and dad
Do you not realize that by handing someone $10k in cash and putting it on video, that you're subjecting that seller to both a heavy fine and possible federal prison time? They're required by law to submit IRS form for cash transactions over $10k with the same person in a 12-month period. Zero chance they're doing that, but yet here it is, for the IRS to see. Really bad idea doing this.
These are business owners. Why does so many people in the sports card industry assume nobody pays taxes? It doesn’t matter how you pay the $10,000. You have to pay taxes on it. Especially now because all the apps are required by law to report and give 1099s . It’s so exhausting reading comments where people act like paying taxes is a new concept. Just because you don’t pay your taxes doesn’t mean nobody does. Ryan doesn’t have an issue doing this because he owns a legitimate business that reports income and pays taxes
Lol, i love how my luck is. I just got back into trading cards from over a decade ago and of corse im 2 weeks past the biggest card show in my area🤣🤣 guess ill wait 365 days😊

Houses are safer investments if you have that much money
He probably be buying even when he the only buyer in the building.
Wow. WhatNot must be paying some big money.
Absolutely epic! One of my favorite pieces of card content in a hot minute. Can't time the 15k deal any better than the 100k spending challenge 😆
So WhatNot gave you 100k to spend?
Always enjoy the negotiation videos and how well you know your prices. Keep up the quality content!
Having commitments from buyers helps spend big numbers
How do you make this money? 💀
Ryan has a PHD in Wheeling and Dealing
Man as a Hockey Fan would love to finally get a McDavid auto card! Out of my price range so that would be exciting!
Where is this kid getting this money?
from us watching the video. he makes some decent profit selling cards im sure but the real money is sponsors/ads on youtube videos and livestreams.
That briefcase for $15k was a great buy.
Shady seeing people so anxious to unload a whole box worth maybe $30k and wants to unload its for $15k like it’s stolen
NOOOOOO, I have hockey practice during the watnot stream. Really wish I could enter the giveaway for the McDavid 😭
I’d be worried that the $15k case was hot… just seems too good to be true. If it’s not tho, wow
Not hot...I sold it!!!
Just wanted to say Thanks for growing the Trading card hobby! Trying to do the same in Europe! Mad respect and you are a Big inspiration Ryan!👍🏼🙋🏼♂️
What do you guys collect over there?
I would’ve never thought of that, “if you let me mail you a check I’ll go up to 42”, like Jesus he’s a good negotiator, i honestly would’ve walked from that deal props to him
Bro respect for your card price knowledge and fair respectful negotiations
I appreciate that a lot!
How do people actually make money doing this? Seems like everyone knows what it's all worth anyway and no one is fooling anyone. Like how much of a good deal can you even get?
Brewster's millions right here
Do one dollar to 1k
I love how he just makes deals sometimes cause the person is a big fan. It makes their day and he makes a deal.
Do you think Deshaun watson rookies would be a good pick up right now?
I just hit the 7 digit mark for my collection. Best of luck to everyone that’s trying to make it
You have all negotiation power with cash in hand
Wish to b in a position like this 🤝
What I love about your vlogs is the financial aspect and how you deal with people. I wish I had the numbers game and financial wits that you have :)
Edwin - thanks for the comment. This is something I've worked on for a while, so I appreciate you commenting about this and watching. It really does mean a lot. Have a great day!
Pretty cool to watch you work. If you're all working off the same margins, how do you end up getting it done?
Cards fluctuate. Some people leave more room on things they do well on or sometimes we overpay on things we want.
i don’t like how every comp comes from ebay.
I normally can’t stand the what not content but glad you still negotiate vs just spending to spend. Keep up the great content
I appreciate that!
Have to try and watch one of your whatnot to see what you give away and what these sell for. Great video
Holy hell that case deal around the 10 minute mark was insane.. I’d like to think nobody would’ve passed that up. What a steal.
Definitely had some cool stuff!
Who even buy this stuff? 20k for cards? Wtf
This guy is really on his shit. Pretty inspirational!
🙏
I don't need 24 hours to spend 100K, I only need 24 seconds
Love the content. I honestly have learned a lot about negotiating by watching these videos. Worst part is that it seems that the big card shows are not in L.A. which doesn't make sense because the card market out here is insane.
Burbank show was huge and looks like a new big card show that will be hosted regularly
Not sure this was the smartest thing to do considering how bad the actual stock market is right now, good luck.
That's a lot of damn money is cards he'll I just spent 300 and thought that was a lot lol
Kid has money, he must know his shit
Bidness is booming... Get on the grind!!

Your cards are just AMAZING! My Vets, and I, watch your videos….and just LOVE them! Thank you, friend. 🇺🇸
Ryan cant wait for part 2 and the pickups video
Wow, he changin up the thumbnails
If your goal is to spend 100k… are you taking the 10-20% off lots😂
Nothing different than normal really. Prices vary
Where does all this money come from? really curious in transparency. Is your card business truly making that much profit after all your operating costs??

This is a collectors dream challenge, thank you Brian
When you pay with paypal in person do you use FF?
You can’t past a certain transaction level
Mostly GS on PayPal
How do u make money like this?
Don't need to make a million dollars to make $. 10% margin on 100k is still $10k.
That case was insane
Must have a big line of credit
Lol no sir. Just always have to be liquid. Move stuff quick and buy stuff quick. Small margin at scale is a wonderful thing.
@@cardcollector2 awesome I’d like to stop by your shop sometime on way to my in laws in Lancaster area. I heard you have some Votto cards and I am a super collector
Everything starting at $1 on Whatnot on Thursday?
There were BIN and auctions. We try to have a mix of both!
How do you know you will make more than what you paid? You know all comps?
That Grextsky auto is 🔥

Never hurts to ask. Be polite and respect that they may say no. It's all in the delivery.
This is a super good thumbnail

Dude, your channel is 80% the side of your face negotiating, 20% cards (at best)… I’m out
Didn’t ask bozo
You shouldn't have told the sellers what you're doing all they hear is wax him

Nice video as usual, Ryan. I am such a small frie in the game, sheesh!
Don't compare yourself to anyone else. Everyone's journey is different. I started collecting base cards of my favorite team in 2006. It takes time!
