    I would like to just add that Virgin also operates a Virgin Orbit branch that uses a slightly modified Boeing 747-400 named Cosmic girl (previously operated by Virgin Atlantic) to launch around 300-500 kg payload (satellites, cubesats, etc.) to orbit with the Launcher one rocket (The 747 is using one of its engine mounts - extra one that is usually used for transporting engines from place to place - to do a in-flight launch of the rocket)

    1) they won the 1st modern xprize! Beating both musk and bezos
    2) whiteknight 2 can carry, has carried, gets paid to launch (?) The x-37b.
    I mention this not checking and completely disregarding the video's date.

      WhiteKnightTwo carried the X-37B on a few captive carry and glide tests, but hasn't done so in over a decade. The X-37B flies to orbit aboard SpaceX Falcon 9's and ULA Atlas V's.

    • @ironpurush
      @ironpurush ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@giantmanice yes sir, thanks a lot for your appreciation. When you will read the documents from Indian perspective, you will find that Indian nuclear tests were not just an engineering feat all by itself, but it was also the show of true determination, nationalism and perfect planning, of our Indian nuclear scientists. When India was defeated in humiliating way by Chinese in 1962, and when no world powers came to support the oldest civilization of this world, India was forced to go on the nuclear way for its protection, as this idea is also enshrined in our Constitution: to protect the sovereignty of nation of India at any costs. In addition to this, the Chinese even tested their first atomic bomb in the Lop Nur nuclear test site in 1964. This propelled Indian govt's nuclear policy in the way of weaponisation, even though at first, our ex-PM, Late Lal Bahadur Shastri rejected it.
      Also, when India asked to help her in obtaining the nuclear umbrella from both the USSR and the USA, she received a complete denial. This also showed the hypocrisy of the Western and Eastern world, in securing the so-called world order. It showed that the world is deaf and it can only hear when the sound is too "LOUD", i.e the world only salutes the mighty and dodges the weak. And we wanted self-respect and sovereignty, especially after the era of humiliation by the European colonial powers. Thus, we exploded the nuclear devices underground, that too twice, once in 1974 and again in 1998, both on the birth anniversary of our beloved Lord Buddha.
      The Indian Nuclear Tests of 1998, was not just the show of strength and utter dedication towards securing India's security, it also resulted in the biggest setbacks of the best spy agency of this world, the CIA.
      Do check it out, before commenting any further.

    • @jtjames79
      @jtjames79 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@SkunkApe407 cuz it's already obsolete.
      If Sierra Nevada weren't so obsessed with being diddled by old space, Dream Chaser could already be flying on Falcon 9 for the same price.
      Just don't use a second stage.
      The cadence benefits of a space plane launched from an airplane has failed to produce results spectacularly.
      Once Starship is taking passengers, Starship will be the cheaper better ride all the way to orbit. Starship is big enough to be a space hotel. It's as big as the space station is now on the inside, with much better opportunities for layout improvements.
      VG is just a novelty, because there are things that aren't novelties that get much less press.

      50 miles is space by US govt definition. 62 miles is the Karman Line -- space by the FAI's definition. But let's be honest, the 9nly difference is 12 miles in altitude...the ENVIRONMENT is the same.
