In this video, I take the Panasonic HC-V785 camcorder outdoors for the first time to test its key features and overall performance. The HC-V785 is equipped with a powerful 20x optical zoom lens and a 1/2.3" back-illuminated sensor, which helps capture sharp, detailed footage even in challenging lighting conditions. One standout feature is its HDR (High Dynamic Range) movie mode, designed to reduce blown highlights and blocked shadows for a more balanced and vibrant video.
This camcorder also features a Level Shot function and 5-axis Hybrid O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer), ensuring smooth and stable footage, even while walking or zooming. Its built-in microphone captures stereo audio with good clarity, and there's a mic input for external options if needed.
For this video, I kept things simple-no editing of audio or video. What you see is raw, straight-from-the-camera footage, stitched together to showcase its performance in a real-world scenario. Let me know what you think of the quality in the comments!

I use the 785 and its fantastic. I wish there was more accessories for it.
I use this very camera to create content, along with a DJI Action 4, and a Hollyland Bluetooth Lav mic... And sometimes a comica V10 Pro shotgun mic. I love this thing. I use the HC-V785 as my main camera. The built-in audio is pretty good, and the picture is nice. The zoom is also awesome. I love the simplicity and ease of use of tihis, compared to a DSLR - I can shoot video all day and not overheat. I love that you can adjust the shutterspeed, iso and white balance, if you want - but the auto settings are nothing to sneez at. I grew up using camcorders and this is the best one I've ever owned. The only reason I even use the DJI Action 4 is for the convenience of using the voice commands to film at angles, where I would have to walk around my kitchen island to stop and start recording.
The only real complaints I have with this camera, and they're minor in the grand scheme of things, is that when I rotate the screen to selfie-mode, the ability to control the camera through touch screen disappears. There is a delay in audio, when monitoring sound with a headset, but I don't even use that option. I wish I could Bluetooth things directly to this camera.. And, lastly, there is virtually no support or updates for this camera from Panasonic. Panasonic makes excellent video cameras, I wish they gave these product lines some love - my selfie mode gripe could be fixed with a software update.
For the price, this camera is absolutely amazing. If you're looking for a 4k version of this camera - go with the VX-981.

Note: I did no editing of video or audio. With my other videos, I use CapCut to increase volume....I'll do that in the future.

Hi! Is the format of the video mp4?
You can choose between MP4 and another format. I forgot what it’s called. I only use MP4 and I’ve only used the SD card to get the video onto my computer.
