    in sports pulling your arm back for a throw is referred to as cocking. it even gets used in sports like volleyball for serving and spiking. i assume it just comes from cocking a gun.

    11:45 the trick to remembering the distinction I was taught is to imagine the slash is a stick about to tip over - a forward slash / would fall forward (as you read it).

    Coney island hot dogs are endemic to Detroit , MI if I'm not mistaken, although I've never had one or been there before, or to Coney island for that matter.

      "Slash" is the name of the guitar player for Guns n Roses

      @@adamventures13 London born too which is a bit surprising. His American mother was a costume designer for some famous stars and his father British but he grew up in LA when his father took him to live there when Slash ( Saul Hudson ) was 6. Prior to that he was living in Stoke-on-Trent of all places.
