Yo, I've been watching Frank for years. His "Heart and Soul variations" video is the reason I started playing piano. I also buy all my music supplies, including my first piano, from Kraft Music. I'm so happy to see the two come together!
Great product! How anyone can mean that the sounds in the RD2000 are better is beyond me. This machine sounds so much richer and natural! Worth the Extra cash.
Finally, Korg has done a good stage piano. It can see a great versatility and sonority at first sight. However, Korg always leaves a "something" that doesn't end up convincing many people, include myself. For now and until I test this grandstage, I still preferring Kurzweil Forte and Nord Stage 3. Very good video. Thanks Frank!
I totally agree! The last instrument made by Korg that made me say WOW was the first Triton, back in the days. I still own it and play it every time I have the chance. Let's be honest: in the VST era almost nobody would ever buy a 2000$ instrument just for some nice sounds. Many manufacturers make better keyboards than Korg so I think they should offer something different, better or really innovative. e.g. I'm thinking about the well known Roland V-Piano: its price is crazy, I'll never need that instrument, but I can't blame someone buying it cause its keyboard is something really incredible and it's a TRULY excellent sounding instrument. Same for some Nord models and other competitors, but Korg just doesn't have that peculiar instrument.
Ok this is an amazing instrument, I'm a Korg enthusiast, for organs, strings, pads, effects, samplings... but for acoustic piano and EP sounds I bought a Yamaha CP4, wooden keys, great touch... In acoustic pianos (upright and coda) and EP (Rhodes, Wurlitzer) Yamaha is absolutely much much better than Korg, Nord & other brands.
This two-and-a-half-grandstage would be nice. I like the simplistic design. Miss me with that unnecessary logo nonsense, though. You're paying for that.
Korg Grandstage 2500,- the Yamaha mx 88 and Roland rd 2000 do much more and the yamaha mx88 is much cheaper. I think it's to expensive for what it does. does it record anything? Exactly why should we buy this over a Roland RD 2000? Would like to try one for the keybed.
Ronald Rademaker If you're for an amazing keybed then you should look at the kawai MP11se. The best key action on the market for a slab DP. I understand people wanting more sounds pianos even tho running your piano through the PC will open you up to more possibilities in the end
Could that OLED screen be any smaller? Does it boot in 3 seconds, like the Nord Stage? Can I get it without the Behringer-esque "aluminum wanting to be wood" top panel?
I would be surprised if the boot time was significantly lower than the Kronos. The HD1 for instance, must probably load all pcm at boot. Since they don't mention boot time I would expect the worst.
This is very nice, This would have been incredible, say, 5 years ago. Who in their right mind would purchase this over an RD-2000 or even the previous model RD-800 Both at a lower price point, far more versatile and with more intuitive controls (and better action IMO). I like it honestly, but the nonsensicality of the price is infuriating. what were they thinking? A color changing backlit logo can't cost 6-700 in production. It doesn't add up and it is not competitive
David Couto The stand that comes with it is part of the problem. The stand by itself cost $430. They could easily de-bundle the stand from it and sell it for a more attractive price of $1,999 instead of $2,500
Played this and was really disappointed. The keybed is chronic. Plasticy and flimsy feeling also the piano samples were chronic. Wish Korg would get their act together and produce something exceptional instead of dead average
You got trend-setters and you got trend-followers. And how many times in KORG's past, haven't 'they' just been the trend-'setter'??? Right...the first in workstations, as 'some' example...shall I go on? So, the word 'always', in the sentence you used is, in my opinion, inappropriate ;-}
Nice to see Ryan Gosling in something other than movies.

Yes, we were very excited to have Frank in our studio. Thanks for the support, and let us know if we can help in any way. Cheers!

Finally. A good piano by KORG!

Ruggero Pilla Uhmm roland RD 2000 has vpiano as its engine
True. Korg still cannot create a GOOD PIANO (I think it's a velocity problem).
But we are thankful for Nord Stage :-)

Ruggero Pilla I
If nothing else it certainly looks cool
FINALLY A KORG GOOD CONTENDOR FOR THE CAT: STAGE PIANO.
what is the "Italian Grand" supposed to be? Fazioli?
great product & skills :)
Thanks Frank - great demo - is it possible to add more sounds ?
Tempting.
great for see something that i cant buy :'D
Can you please demonstrate the new update for the Korg grand stage 2.0 please
Demais
The soundfloor is not great. Kraft, do you know what you are doing? Great stage piano however, it sounds great.
when you're going to review a stage piano please start with an acoustic piano voice its just more appropriate

F-ffffffrank???? Didn't know you worked for Korg.
You guys can check his TH-cam channel. Good stuff.
Does intro music has a name?
I want this! Please universe hear me!!
Rd-s rival 😯😯👍👍
don't think so..

Does anybody know what the first song being played is?
can we hear the rhodes sounds without all the reverb, trem and chorus? that's the real test.
Strings sound is there or not??
Korg: Desings a Vox organ engine and puts it in a keyboard with weighted keys. What are you guys thinking
Similar to korg sv1... Like :)
Grandstage va SV2 ?
🤗🎹🎼🎶🤗👍🏻
I feel really bad for GEM...Korg pretty much copied the Promega 2+ to a T.
Tedesco means German in italian
Sounds good, but it looks kind of cheap with that faux-wood like texture on the backside. Not to talk of the lit logo :o
looks great actually, And it looks like they finally placed keys evenly with no gaps, unlike that weird keyboard Kronos 2.
I agree, should’ve made it all gloss black.
Can I know about Keyboard stand?
MrGiallopet looks like a custom Gibraltar stand to me..
If you want one it will cost you $430.. not worth it in my opinion
Is that similar to rolland rd series ?
aproach but no that same.. ;)
Grandstand vs Nord stage 3
Could that OLED screen be any smaller? Does it boot in 3 seconds, like the Nord Stage? Can I get it without the Behringer-esque "aluminum wanting to be wood" top panel?
that "detail" I dislike.. :/

Price?
2499 USD
Ranaivotsimba Ravo looks to be around 2500 USD
gee, is there enough reverb on everything? bleeeeeech
Gimme me my real Rhodes any time.

2500 euro pour entendre toujours le meme son qui sert a rien !! lamentable ...autant avoir un kontakt
Played this and was really disappointed. The keybed is chronic. Plasticy and flimsy feeling also the piano samples were chronic. Wish Korg would get their act together and produce something exceptional instead of dead average
why always korg copies Roland products, shame
RESEMBLE OF THE RD300NX right?
