    The only problem is from what I understand- you would have more voting power in a DAO based on how many tokens you have… that’s the same premise as the largest shareholders having the most influence. And you mentioned if the person holding a DOA token doesn’t like the way the company is going, they can sell their token and move to another project. That’s just like stocks haha help me understand I want web 3 to work?

    It's scary, these companies, they know everything. If Web 3 can improve this situation, it would be very good and necessary. This should be shown to Elon Musk, he always says he doesn't understand Web 3. Well explained by Jessica, the crypto fairy. 😍

      That's what I am doing -> encrypted NFTs. If you are TH-camr, you don't need to sell your video to the TH-cam sells to another company in format of ad. With encrypted NFT, you can sell your video directly to the company, and the company can use your video as advertising.

    Trying to think about where the data servers for all this data will sit... surely that will have to stay centralised(?) due to the huge capital investment and on-the-ground expertise required. Or am I missing something? If I'm correct, then aren't the keepers of all the servers still centralised between a few big players?

    Web3 feels like an idealistic concept which I don't see as happening anytime soon
    If you allow anonymity - you allow people to shirk responsibility for their words and actions on the platform which can be problematic?
    Welcome people's thoughts on this

    • @smittymcjob2582
      @smittymcjob2582 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      anonymity is license for mischief. Given that 20% of all people (around 2 billion people?) are always looking for ways to get away with things not appropriate or fair to others then I'd say full anonymity can be a very dangerous thing and detrimental to the other 80% of the human population.

    • @smittymcjob2582
      @smittymcjob2582 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And who's going to pay for public infrastructure and services if everyone avoids paying taxes through anonymous financial transactions?

    • @smittymcjob2582
      @smittymcjob2582 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Here's a good analogy that brings the problem and the absurdity of suggesting anonymity as a solution into focus.
      Internet these days is like a mid-20th-century society where all roads and id-issuing infrastructure is outsourced to private companies that use peolpe's identities and where they go to earn income and profile these people. Suggesting that everyone become anonymous to evade such invasions of privacy is clearly not how to solve this problem because this anonymity affords safety to the criminal element. The real solution is how a mid-20th-century society was operated. The infrastructure and people's identification is trusted with a government that is trusted and open to scrutiny to make sure this data is not abused to anyone's benefit. Governments (in the west that is) could always tap your phone and listen in but they needed court orders, etc. In other words even though governments always had the means to get into your private life, legislation and oversight made sure that this was limited. Tyrannical governments knew everything about their people even before the internet came along, so this issue of privacy is not a new issue but one that has surfaced in a new format.
      The solution is not anonymity. The solution is to admit that internet, search engines, online-identity have all become public infrastructure that must be managed by non-profit publicly scrutinizable (is this a word?) entities on top of which other companies can provide service.
      The other problem with internet as it is today is that nothing ever disappears. So if you make a stupid comment at a low point in your life into your online account in the privacy of your own home that stupid comment will live forever easily accessible to everyone through a search engine. As it is, someone in 400 years will comes across my comment here by chance or by searching for name and will form an opinion of me. I will never be able to live this off! So another important thing is to designate the private and public areas of each person online (kinda like when nobody can bug you when you're inside your home without a court order and when you go out where you are exposed to laws in public areas) and it should be illegal for anyone to expose or catalog or index anything you have or do in your private area of the internet.
      In summary, I say we need to declare the internet and online-identity as infrastructure and move its management to non-profits subject to utility-like regulations and define online private and public spaces and legislation appropriate for protecting it and then live online like how we do in the real world.

    What about the average people who will probably be last to know about these new systems? Won't they miss out on early token prices that the more savvy early adopter users might benefit from? It's like buying land, the rich are able to get in early and watch prices rise while people not so well-off will spend years saving while seeing prices rise. This is just my thoughts when I hear about DAO's and games for example Axie, etc. I don't know, maybe I should keep learning about these new technologies and the future of the web, but I can't help but think all this crypto involvement will see the average people or users feeling a little confused if they require to pay for something that has inflated in value from before they even knew about it.

    • @oracle392
      @oracle392 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your not wrong but there's also nothing you can do about it. People who stay ontop of things and get into good projects early always sand much more to gain...and they should as the early adopters are the ones taking the risk Nd making it work. Waiting until it's already big and popular means you have missed out on the big gains..but yours also at much less risk to lose what you invest. People aren't going to support and invest in little known techs if they don't stand to gain anything from it

    But who will store the data? and what if a participating node disconnect? will there be another node having his data? if so this just double or triple the amount of data needed to be stored, which makes it even more unpractical to store the data! There should be a huge incentive to keep the nodes participating, most likely in form of payments from end users which is not cool
