Visionaries are my favorite obscure 80s Cartoons. Had most of the figures and a couple of the vehicles. I still have the Comics on my bookshelf and reread them often. I even attempted to finish the comic's storyline that was never finished.
I had some of the bad guys like Cravex and even though that kind of disappointed me, I ended up creating “misunderstood bad guy” stories like the ones I saw in the cartoon, which fueled my love for anti heroes. What a gem this was. Great comment too, Bronze Age.
For such a short series. There is so much lore crammed into it. Sad I never even knew of this series and I've watched a lot of reruns of the 80s cartoons during the 90s. I guess this series was just never picked up to be aired again.
Bought some Visionaires vhs tapes on ebay long time ago. Very interesting cartoon line. This animated series should be re-made/re-launched. Great character development & storyline.
I loved the animated series, which had some Legends on its voice cast. Peter Cullen, Bernard Erhardt Chris Latta, Roscoe Lee Brown,Neil Ross, and Frank Welker, among others. Plus the intro and theme song was Absolutely Epic!
I loved the Visionaries. The story concept was great. Especially in this modern era where we are so reliant on technology. What I personally believed killed the toyline was a lack of articulated animals. You saw them using their animal forms in both comics and cartoon but never could play with the toys that way because there no animal totem toys. As Battle Cat, Panthor, and Zoar of the Masters of the Universe line proved kids could get their parents to pay for simply animals and by comparison even Cryotek's bear would have been smaller than Battle Cat. Great review. I really enjoyed it.
Damn I forgot about this line! Beautiful artwork. I loved the Star Comics division of Marvel! Yeah, I know they were the kiddie comics but they were fun to read. That and I was nine.
In the 80's, I only had one of these figures. I did love the cartoon and the comic. I just recently read the Transformers VS Visionaries mini series. Very good stuff. Great video. I agree, with Will Stocks. Please do Sectaurs video at some point.
The problem with the toyline could be fixed today. "Being able to transform the toys into their totems." It would alsoake a great game being able to choose a knight and use their special powers and totems to complete missions in a variety of ways. Maybe like Voltron and other 89 cartoons they will get a reboot, now that the toy technology has caught up to their concept.
God I LOVE VIsionaries!!! I used to use them and their magic as a bridge to bring in my G.I.*JOE= and ROBOTECH figures together and played in a giant shared universe!! ...AAAAAHHHHHhhhhh...good times... ALso, can you do a ROBOTECH one of these? Thank you.
It’s been so long since I’ve seen it and I couldn’t find a place to watch them for this video so That’s why I relied solely on my printed copies. But yeah, apparently some of them are pronounced wrong, someone else commented on this. I hope you still see able to figure out who I was talking about 😎
This was SUCH A GREAT SHOW. Loved it as a kid. I had Witterquick and Cryotek figures
Still have a couple of these guys. Wish they would make a comeback. it's such a cool idea.
The concept and their story is great, I hope they come back too

That’s cool that you tried to finish the story! Hopefully one day we’ll find out about the last 2 talismans
I remember having Leoric and Darkstorm. I really miss these old toys. And may I say, Jess, you really know and love your audience. Great episode.
Thank you! I am glad you enjoy these trips down memory lane

It really is surprising how much lore there is here
Leoric: Optimus Prime
Ectar: Prowl
Feryl: Bumblebee
Cryotek: Ironide
Galadria: Arcee
Arzon: Silverbolt
Witterquick: Blurr

That’s a stacked roster of great talent!
Never had any, but they were awesome.
You get a definite follow for being the only one covering this.
Visionaries are cool and they should bring it back. 😀👍

Hi Aaron, I agree that adding the totem animals would have been a great idea and probably got more people to buy them
Damn I forgot about this line! Beautiful artwork. I loved the Star Comics division of Marvel! Yeah, I know they were the kiddie comics but they were fun to read. That and I was nine.
Haha me too!
Visionaries were ahead of their time
Clever.
Man, I love Visionairies, one of the dopest properties ever. Went away as quickly as they appeared. I copped Cryotek in a bargain bin.
underrated cartoon, I own all 13 episodes and even brought the comic books...I loved this show!!!
Thank you. This was informative.
Why isnt this.a.movie yet???.itll be sooo cool

Hello and thanks for commenting! I do plan to do Sectaurs in the future so stay tuned 😎
Imagine serious dark sci fi live action movie THE VISIONARIES

Great video. Can you do Sectaurs next if you haven't already?
Sectaurs are definitely on my list to cover I the future
You should cover some of the Netflix remakes. Some of the stuffs been pretty good.
There's a remake of Visionaries?
@@carbootstudios2459 Nah Transformers and some others, but it would not surprise me, Flix is buying ip licensing to remake stuff, never know.

Oh okay
I loved these.
I have the complete toy line. This was the best cartoon of the 80s
God I LOVE VIsionaries!!! I used to use them and their magic as a bridge to bring in my G.I.*JOE= and ROBOTECH figures together and played in a giant shared universe!!

I loved this cartoon.
I really liked this franchise, it's too bad that the cut it off only part way through the
I wish they’d at least closed out the last story
@@JLSComicsSPOILER ALERT)
do you think the Sopranos got the idea for the mid sentence cut off in the finale from Visionaires?
Well done man! I'm tempted to tackle a similar topic, so thank you for all this.
Visionaries was cool. That for the info Jesse.
Thanks man and I agree! Excellent concept that was ended way too early
Btw, Ectar's totem was the fox, Feral's was the wolf.
Whoops!
I think it was a mistake in issue 3
From 1st episodes very entertaining cartoon
This one really should come back. I hope someone makes a remake. But not like She-ra though...
I had these
Make Visionaries Great Again!!! 🥲🙏🏼
My cousin introduced me to this.
What they should have done with the toys is sold their animal totems with the figures. A missed opportunity in my view.
That would’ve been a great idea!
Hi,can you do the inhumanoids please?
Instead of Mad Max, you get Conan after the fall of the world.
Visionaries? Cool! Although...I’m hoping ROM The Spaceknight gets a history of video.
Absolutely! ROM has a very interesting story across multiple publishers that I’ll want to talk about for sure
I had the lunchbox 😁
Not judging you mate, but you mispronounced a lot of the names. Also, Ferral turned in to wolf while Ecta turned in to the fox.
💚💚💚💚👍👍👍👍
I take it you've never seen the to show as your pronunciation is wrong quite a few times

The concept of visionaries never made sense. Even without electricity there would still be gunpowder and the knowledge to make it next to oil and gas.
The darkling lords power staffs were much cooler and Leoric staff was really shity 😂
