    I found one of these machines this morning on the sidewalk a couple blocks from my apartment. The bean grinder was a bit clogged up but I got it cleaned out and it's working like a charm. Best sidewalk find ever!

      That’s an awesome find! I got mine recently from Amazon as a warrhouse deal for £369 which I thought was good but you got the best deal!

    • @nickhritz
      @nickhritz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Alexander_l322 That's a great deal, as well. Mine is used a LOT and it hasn't failed once. The previous owner must not have been a coffee addict to toss it out.

      @@nickhritz thanks, I think I got the cheapest one in the UK as a barely used machine. i guess yours is a testament to the build quality. I did see a lot of bad reviews about Krups service but hopefully I’ll never have to deal with them if yours still works after finding on the street and just cleaning it made it work again and it still working after a year. You basically found at least £300 if you were to sell it.

    Nice video. Very thorough, and I liked how you guys brought up the looks of that machine. Many people assume that coffee is only as good as it tastes. But for me, it starts from the sound of the machine to the looks of that coffee, the smell, and then the taste. Every element of these play a significant role for me to enjoy a good latte.

    I just ordered this machine, and am so excited! Thanks for your tips about not using oily beans in these machines - I didn't know this.

    Had this machine for 6 months now and had 600 cups out of her, brilliant but you do empty the drip tray a lot. Still love it.

    • @Alexander_l322
      @Alexander_l322 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t think the drip tray on this machine is any different when it comes to emptying it because I had a manual delonghi before i got this machine and I find I’ll just empty it after each use or each day like I did my delonghi and it’s easy so it’s no trouble.

      @@SeattleCoffeeGear what is the better krups 9010 or sega brevil?

  • @bertie3261
    @bertie3261 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Kat, I have searched the internet for a bean to cup machine that does milky drinks at a hot temperature for about 9 months now. Whilst the Saeco Evo seems to get the closest, this Krups seems to fit the bill-an added advantage seems to be that you don't have to clean out a milk container as it goes straight into the cup. However, my concern is that touched on in the video-the need to repair the steam arm. What is the cost of this. I imagine that this might go wrong just after the warranty runs out-is there a fixed cost for repair after the warranty, and do Krups do an extended warranty?

    • @SeattleCoffeeGear
      @SeattleCoffeeGear  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Krups currently has a 2 year warranty on the EA9000 in the US. Unfortunately, the machine is so new that I can't really speak to what a steam arm repair might cost or how likely that is to effect machines. However, we have it in our break room and it works like a champ! Plenty of appropriate prompting at set intervals for the various cleaning cycles needed to keep the steam arm in tip-top shape. -Kaylie

    All I can say is wow. This really challenges my desire to get an actual manual machine (gaggia classic for instance). But as an americano/lungo/allonge loverrr most of it is superfluous

    • @SeattleCoffeeGear
      @SeattleCoffeeGear  11 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah; if you're not drinking milk-based drinks very often, you're paying for functionality that you'll never use … it's still fun to watch, tho! :) - Kat

    The previous Krups machines sure looked like they were made by Jura...same filters, cleaning tablets, etc..do you suspect this is also made by Jura? One other thing was that some of the older Krups superautos were made in Switzerland, where Jura is made. Do you know where these are made? Knowing that Jura makes the machine would give me more confidence to buy it, because I'm tempted..

    • @SeattleCoffeeGear
      @SeattleCoffeeGear  11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Accordingly to Krups, their super autos have always been made in France and they manufacture them themselves. We thought they were Jura private labels, too, but they corrected us :) - Kat

    Question: Are there any other machines you would recommend that use this method of milk-in-cup frothing? I had this Krups barista machine, but it stopped working after 4 years and the cost of repair means looking for a new one makes sense. Any suggestions? We don't like the idea of using that tube, seems unsanitary, and also not crazy and having a milk container that will likely sit out all day. Would probably mean a lot of time spent cleaning those compartments manually. Thanks!

    • @Alexander_l322
      @Alexander_l322 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The steam wand will clean itself with hot water and I guess detergent if you have the detergent bottle in the machine. It’s not unsanitary at all. I’m 3 years late to answer you but I only just got this machine.

    I'm having some issues with this one, the water is flowing out of the chamber and only dispensing about 1/3 of the ounces in the actual cup. the reset is going into the coffee collector and the drip tray. Here's a video that shows what's happening. th-cam.com/video/Kd7gz6z45kk/w-d-xo.html

    This is pretty krappy machine. Great when it works...but breaks every few months and repair is out warranty is expensive like $500/repair.
    Once it’s out of warranty Krups support is not helpful and pretty condescending like “you must have not done the proper maintenance...”
