Awesome rig! I solid axle swapped my 2nd gen. I would recommend adding a 2nd nut to the leaf spring hanger bolts to ensure they don't back themselves off. Either that or check them regularly to ensure they are on there tight.
Good to see an AOG vid! That new rig looks awesome, will be much easier to convince the family to go on more trips now too! Congrats on the new rig brother
I have a black 3rd gen like yours. I wish I could post a pic. I just got done doing a TON of stuff of it. It was in the garage from 12' to last year. Bought a jdm 3.4 5vzfe from Japan and a million other things. Mine also sentimental. I picked my wife up on our first date in it 20 years ago. I'm so glad Hank the tank is BACK!! I have been like a kid in a candy store driving it around. We even just got to do some offroading a few times. Working on interior now. Been collecting black trim from ebay for 2 years since my woodgrain was old and brittle. Love my yota. You have to had owned one to truly know how awesome the 3rd gen really is. It's not fast lol but it'll freaking go anywhere!
@@austinsoffroadgarage niceeeee and it basically bolts right in like the factory axle I assume? I gotta look more into this now! Would love disk brakes all around!
Why do you have 5.29 in the rear but 5.28 in the front? I have a rear diff I'm putting in the front of my sas 2nd gen that has a locker. It's 4.10 because that's what my rear is. Think that will work?
Toyota to GM this is compatible doesn’t bind at all. It’s close enough. Toyota to Toyota it has to match or it will bind. So if they are both 4:10s it will work perfect.
My X wife made me sell my built and bobbed '85 4runner,14 years ago.Now she's gone and,I just bought,a brand new 2000 4runner project!
Hell yeah. Good luck on the new build.

Thanks for the info!

Thanks for supporting my addiction haha
gotta ditch that 44 for a chevy kingpin 60 or toyota axle and lower it a couple inches asap
tons are defiantly going to happen one day.
You cannot go wrong with a third GEN T4R. Them things are freaking tanks 3.4 is a freaking bulletproof engine. Solid axle for the win
I agree. its a great platform.

30K and you can have it.
Love 3rd gens
me too!
u back!!!!!! started to get worried...lol
Hahah thanks man! I’m back going to post more for sure.
What benefit do you get from swapping a 4th gen rear end? And mismatching gears?
wider, factory disc brake. ratios are combatable
@@austinsoffroadgarage niceeeee and it basically bolts right in like the factory axle I assume? I gotta look more into this now! Would love disk brakes all around!
I’m not sure on that. But some one has to make a disk brake conversion for the 3rd gen??
Sick! 🔥🍻
Glad you like it!
Nice 4runner. Is the 4th gen rear wider axle than the 3rd gen?
Thanks. It is but not by much.
How big is the lift on this
rough country 6"
How does it work with the different gear ratios front and rear?
Works fine. Toyota and Chevy gears will never truly match. But this setup is compatible.
Awesome buddy, see if we can Not roll this one, twice 😎
We shall see

What’s the exhaust setup you have on the new 4runner?
Straight pipe haha need to get an exhaust made for it asap.
Na man sounds good lol
Its so loud in person. get good muffler on there an see what happens
Did I hear incorrectly? Mismatched gear ratios?
they are miss matched. Chevy to Toyota will never be exactly the same but these ratios are combatable. works fine no biding at all
Details on that tundra…?🤔
My buddy just bought were fixing it. Video on some suspension stuff this week.
@@austinsoffroadgarage I’ll definitely be watching that one!!
Sounds good man 🤘🏼
Tire size?
38"
What do u pay for something like that ?
My old rig and some on top.
Badass
Fire
