- EastEnders has recently announced that the Knights will be moving to Walford to run The Queen Vic. But who are they and what can we expect from this new family when they join the show in June 2023? Watch this video for some initial thoughts and theories based on what we know so far.

This is so cool! So The Husband and Daughters are Linda's Stepfather and Stepsisters? Could someone please tell me about the other actresses. Also it would be cool to see a new family running the Vic. Can you imagine Elaine and Alfie butting heads. I live in Canada so I don't know about their history the way you do. also in america, they bring in one person and if they click then they bring in a family. Terry Lester debuted as Jack Abbott #1 on Y & R in 1981 then in 1983 his family came to Genoa City. Robert Newman debuted in 1981 as Josh Lewis that same year and in 1983 The Lewises came on the scene. You may also remember Robert as Ashland #1 on Y & R as well.
Great video. One hell of a take and interesting theories. Would be fun to see your takes and theories on a whole lot more news. Great to have another person in the space who truly dives down these theories and airs some exciting speculation. Looking forward to the new videos

The recast of Elaine seems very similar to the recast of Peggy, both became landlady’s of the Vic
Absolutely. I thought that too. Here's hoping Harriet's Elaine is the equivalent of Barbara's Peggy. I think, based on first impressions this week, she could well be... albeit during a very different era of the show. No landlady will ever reach the icon status Peggy did but I think Elaine could definitely make her mark. How did you find her debut, Jay?
@@TalkingWalford very ott but I guess she has to make a big entrance to make an impact and to kickstart a whole new era, my favourite landladies are still Angie and Peggy, they’re the most iconic, Angie because she was the first and her era was so short it left us wanting more and Peggy because she came into it years after Angie so there were naturally expectations but she completely made her tenure her own.

Me too! I'm so excited for what might be ahead for this unit. It'll almost certainly tie into the flashforward episode too, so I think there's a lot of good drama to come.
Harriet Thorp is a fabulous actress with a great pedegree, mostly in comedy which bodes well for her moving forward in a Peggyish style now she needs a decent foil like a Pat Butcher to bounce of to make the most of her comedic timing , she will also be fantastic at the drama.
I have to say I think she fits the show like a glove! What an entrance!

I am confused what is happening is Linda a kinghts her real name . Is that why Linda is still keeping the Vick . With her family. The young lady's are really beautiful and really fit x ❤️. can't wait to see them all on TV with a big way. They are coming in

I think we haven’t taken well to them because it is a recast Elaine who was an established character over the years, I think that is the main problem because even in the pictures Elaine and Linda don’t seem like the mother and daughter duo that they once were. However I am prepared to give them a chance. Feel like Elaine is very Peggy and angie esque. George could be very Archie/Den esque. And the girls we hope are the new Ronnie and Roxy.
I do agree that the physical likeness between Maria Friedman and Harriet Thorpe isn't there but I'm really excited to have Elaine back. I think the show has really been lacking a classic older, matriarchal figure and Elaine could very well be that. Let's wait and see :)

@@Joey15811 I wouldn't personally say she was loathsome... but perhaps a bit one note, admittedly! I'm hoping Harriet can bring a bit more nuance and dynamism to the role, which I'm thinking she will.
@@TalkingWalford The OTT actress didn't help and from what I hear, the new one is the same. If Elaine is staying for longer than 3 months she seriously needs to be toned down.
The oringal Elaine and linda could definitely pass off physically as mum & daughter. I think I'm interested what this Elaine gonna be like

Maria Friedman was one of the best characters they had in years, the chemistry between her and the rest of the family. It was the peak Carters dynasty, where every character was loveable and brilliantly written. Johnny, Lee, Nancy, Linda, Mick, Shirley, Elaine.
The new Elaine just seems like such a cheap replacement. No magic around her
I just noticed something that when sharon says he's dead, linda isnt in that scene. there will be a lot of disappointed people who want Nish out of the show who will be annoyed that he wont be gone at christmas

I have a feeling that George's girls haven't lost their mum at all. A great plot twist would be that Elaine is actually the mother of his children.
Eastenders needs a new gangster in the mould of Den Watts.

Nigel Harman as Dennis would’ve been perfect to take over from Phil.
Who knows maybe he’ll come back from the dead one day. His character was superb.

Highly unlikely Dennis can return seeing as his demise was shown in scree. As for Phil being old he physically dosnt look over the hill and still has the aura he had they need to revive him and show more of ibis aggression against these younger gangsters. Phil has to be too dog until he quits

I think Anna will end up becoming the new cindy and there will be a love triangle between Bobby and Freddie, Anna will get pregnant and she will pretend Bobby is the father so it doesn’t ruin her relationship and so Freddie/Bobby friendship remains intact - I think Gina will die of a drugs overdose and the baby will be called Gina eventually Bobby will find out and attack Freddie potentially seriously and Anna will play the two boys along for a number of years
Harriet thorpe is a rubbish replacement she plays elaine as if she's playing peggy mitchell. Linda needed family 5 months ago .
