Honestly, this is probably one of the best examples of how speedrunning can be really good and really fun.
You pretty much have to take all the speedrun knowledge that you know and still improvise due to the randomness factor. It's a really good test of skill and knowledge

Even though I can personally follow everything, I believe many people could be a bit turned off when the commentators refer to levels only by their letter abbreviations. As for the run itself, I really like how strategic the game becomes.

They explain it all at the start, they're playing a romhack (a modified version of the game) which (mainly) randomly moves the stars around and changes which doors/paintings lead where

So are the things that are randomized randomized differently for each runner? I always thought the same seed meant the same randomizations. But I just watched the star jump to two different spots for the same goal, in the bird's clutches in sss.
This would mean their seeds are all different anyways, just very similar.. One could have an easier seed than the next.. Meh. Kinda wished each runner was faced with the exact same random challenge...

The seed decides which stages are swapped with which and where fixed spawn items are placed (everything that spawns when you enter the stage, so as far as I know it's only "event" stars that are an exception). However where you spawn inside the level and where stars spawned after entering get placed doesn't depend on the seed. In one and the same run, on the same seed, entering the same stage and collecting the same star twice will spawn both you at the start and the star (upon spawning it) in different places.

I think its only that star that doesnt spawn correctly anyway everything else was the same its essentially negligible.
