Very well done Matt - fantastic soft spoken; Thoroughly enjoyed this one. You expressed interest in taking weight loss seriously - here's some knowledge I've learned around the subject that may help guide your future choices. The most important aspect of weight loss that most citizens do not understand / have access to the correct information - is that most if not all of human weight gain derives from the lipid molecule (eating fats). There have been multiple carbohydrate-scare narratives circulating around the west, but it is VERY difficult to gain weight if eating only carbohydrates. You can prove this to yourself by thinking about only eating fruit - nobody is going to get fat from eating pounds of fruit every day - even if its thousands of calories worth of fruit. Excess carbohydrates fuel the brain first, then they fuel the digestion of proteins/fats, then they fuel all the cells in your body, then they get stored as glycogen within ALL of your muscles, and THEN once ALL of that is filled which is hundreds of grams of carbohydrates, ONLY THEN can carbohydrates become fat. The body does not like making carbs into fat because its a very expensive chemical reaction. This is why we should not concern ourselves too much with carbohydrates in specific relation to human weight loss/gain. Protein is obviously very essential and helps drive fat loss and overall cell cleanup / body growth / metabolism. It's difficult to eat "too much protein", so I would never worry about this set of molecules in your diet. Fats are what pack on the pounds. The reason why keto works is because fat gets used as fuel when you don't eat any carbohydrates (e.g. Ketosis). Ketosis is a survival state, it is not the optimal state. Keto is NOT the best solution in my opinion because carbohydrates are absolutely essential to keep all the other organs, including your brain, working at peak performance. Carbohydrates also facilitate digestion and absorption of all the other nutrients. There is 100% a reason why fruit tastes good to humans - carbohydrates are not the enemy. So, if you combine all this information together, you are left with the optimal recipe for human fat loss that still allows you to operate at high energy, peak performance. Eat as much protein as you can, whilst filling in the rest of the calories with carbohydrates. Minimize fat as much as possible. The absolute WORST foods that will reverse days or weeks of progress in a single meal are the high fat foods. Nuts, cheese, fried anything (including french fries), chocolate, oils, butter, fatty meat. Make sure to still get your essential fats in (omega 3 and 6) - but general rule of thumb is minimize fat. If you go little to no fat, you can eat thousands of calories per day without "burning" off the calories and you will not gain weight. The whole "a calorie is a calorie" thing and "its all about eating less calories than you burn" is general rules of thumb for the general population who does not have specifics of how each molecule type works within the human vessel. Eat lots of lean meat, lots of juicy sweet fruit, greek fat free yogurt, honey, etc. and you will easily obtain the body you want. Careful about protein powders, processed grain carbohydrates, and bleached syrups/sugars. Although these are protein/carbs, obviously these are of much lesser quality, which will show in every measurable health metric. Thank you very much for this video Matt - I know this one is going to help me sleep for a long time; I know you know this already but I appreciate your work & think your soft spoken content is the best on TH-cam. Cheers - wishing you the best as always. - Ethan
Cant believe it's been a quarter of a year since the last soft spoken... miss these very much brother - please grace us with your amazing soft spoken relaxation. 🙏 Hope you are well out there in Canada!
Bro Vince del monte helped develop hypotrophy max and MI40 which are tier 1 body building programs ive done both of them with crazy results. I used to be on an anti psychotic and it does promote weight gain depending on what it is. But I suggest talking to your doctor about it. I really do recommend intermittent fasting for 3 months and trying to implement 45 minutes of cardio daily which is simply jogging on a treadmill or biking and I guarantee if you carry on with both you will lose weight.
Finding it hard to lose weight?Could be the antipsychotic or antidepressant or both depending on which one you’re taking, it’s most likely the antipsychotic maybe talking to your doctor about reducing your dose, this may help with dieting. The weight gain side effects can be depressing. Good luck with that. Great ramble :O)
@JamEater-pi6gq bro just do the world a favor a shut up , u don't know what this person's gone through and struggled with and obviously you've never been in the position to need medication like that
Hey man, I think you should go travelling. To travel is to live, and I’m sure you’ll have plenty of stories to tell from your experiences abroad. Love from Ireland.
Yeah I think in terms of your job, it's a pretty good idea to keep a consistent income from one place, that gives you a fallback if TH-cam fails. Nice video tho, wasn't liking the soft spoken at first but I think maybe you loosened up your voice to sound less harsh, so good job.
I would love smoking videos! Just the rolling process and a smoke is lovely
Thanks for the idea.
I agree
